Thanks louisedvs. I had no idea either of the ending and was planning on watching it tonight. Cheers. PS. Just saw you deleted it now. Bit late for me and a few others. edited by ChilliPepper on 14/01/2013 I watched it knowing full well how it ended due to the numerous trailers, posters, reviews and media interviews that made it very clear what the story was all about, not to mention the actual name of the movie itself. It's not about how the movie ends, it's about how the story gets there, and it's a fantastic piece of cinema. Trust me, Louise hasn't ruined anything for you or anyone else. Thank you i didnt mean to ruin it and feel awful now, however i thought the same as you :_(

I occasionally do this, and to be on the safe side, I transfer the money to the ticket holder beforehand. They then book their own flights. Thank you, i may do this as i have a feeling she will be stopped at the airport Thanks for all your help ladies

My dd was the opposite, in fact we had to hide the potty in the end as I couldn't get her to go to the toilet. Have you tried getting a child's toilet seat and just try starting her on there? It would at least cut out the transition from potty to toilet at a later stage. I know of a few people who did this and it worked fine I was going to suggest this, this is what my Sister did with all of hers

Emirates now have a paypal option online which enabled me to book a ticket for someone with a different name to the credit card I was using. HTH I just called and asked and they said only if you have the same family name as the person. I said what if your name changed via marriage and she went quiet Unhelpful as per usual. I just don't want my friend to get caught out at the airport

My youngest has never had antibiotics that I can recall and my elder one did, but becasue of very severe tonsillitis that culminated in her getting them removed. I'm with desert rose on this one! Motherhood is way too complicated now! I didn't even know anyone goes to a paediatrician for this kind of thing anyway...why not just use a GP? And only then if necessary; my DD hasn't been to the doctor for years though. Happy New Year to you We didnt ever go to the Dr's as kids unless it was for injections and my reoccuring impetigo due to my playing in the garden and making mud pies etc haha

thought you had a sick baby? Where you going to stick him? on the dash board? What has sick got to do with it? I was thinking just about 'baby' and 'carseat', as apparently the car seat has to be placed sideways across the rear seat.....anyway....you have been ticked off Ayzzy......and what would you know about babies? ahem. Oh yes - indeed; it's only when you actually give birth that you realise that children need to be in car seats and that sports cars aren't ideal for that! yes but sick babies and healthy babies usually occupy the same amount of space and they all need a trailer for their bags and stuff. Twins fitted comfortably in the back of mine and the boot was large enough

Yet the irony is that posters on here talk about antibiotic overuse yet they are quite happy to proceed and expect test overuse. The problem with this region is not so much the doctors but the patients and their expectations when they see the doctor. Patients have become conditioned to going to a doctors and coming out with a bag full of goodies, if that doesn't happen they are not satisfied. Many want a quick fix, not understanding neither the body or that medicine does not work that way. The other aspect is that some doctors are not always salaried and some work on commision. Doctors are having to be answerable to patients, in many ways a positive thing but also easily abused and patients can make life **** for doctors if they don't get their own way. The downside is that many patients don't seem to have an iota as to how medicine or their own bodies work, but seem to think they do. edited by Lolacat on 14/01/2013 Is that based on nationalities. I only ask that because being from the UK i would say it doesn't apply. I have never expected to walk out of a Dr's surgery with a bad of goodies.

I've had the same concerns as some of you have mentioned but I guess I wasnt clear. I wouldnt buy it just yet. It would be in the summer (July) when we move to a villa. We dont have the car park space here for 2 cars. So for now, once my driving lessons are done i'll just be driving DH's car for a few months. Maybe I'll need even longer than that before I can get behind a car like this?! I do find automatics far easier to drive, however it depends if you just want the regular one or the TTS or 3.2 V6 hehe ( I do like my German cars)

But if they both are similar, I will need some more suggestions :) When you say are they similar what do you mean? food/setting etc? I mean the setting.....we went there just 20 days back! I havent been to Pierchic but the Villa is on the beach right behind the Burj Al Arab it is very romantic and gorgeous plus the food was lovely Polly who has just replied above is very good with knowing where to eat etc :-)

I used my MDs credit Card and booked a flight to Manilla for our receptionist. I gave her a letter signed by the MD saying that he has used his CC to pay for the ticket, gave her a copy of his passport and the front of the card. whilst she was checking in at the counter they asked to see a copy of the credit card and she gave them all the documents. They kept them and issued her boarding pass. Ive travelled with my son before and my husband has paid for the ticket and we havnt been asked so maybe its on selected destinations. I would provide the passenger the above documents incase they do get asked by the staff Thanks i was going to send her copies of the card, my passport etc

My experience of this is that the website will warn you at the time of payment if it involves a country where the cardholder must be present. I think this was the case with flights to/from Thailand and the Philippines, but it's never been an issue with the UK. Thanks i will go in and speak with them personally

[i'>I completely agree with The Russian. That is madness. First of all, antibiotics can take days to work, so switching from one to the next every day or so is ridiculous and potentially harmful. Second of all, if it is a virus, antibiotics won't work at all and shouldn't be prescribed. People randomly taking antibiotics - as if it was an aspirin - is one of the causes of the growth of resistant super-bugs. I think you should change doctors and not go back to that one. [/i'> Antibiotics are losing their effectiveness because of people not using them correctly. They should not be used for viruses. Nor should they be self-prescribed. This doctor is very irresponsible. I agree. I am a qualified pharmacy tech so know a little ( not all) about medical conditions and drugs etc. Some of the C@@p i have been spouted here by medical professionals is hilarious and do not get me started on some of the tablets they have tried to prescribe. I had a back injury and they gave me muscle relaxants that had been withdrawn from most countries lists as they had hideous side effects Antiobiotics are so over prescribed and not always needed. As the OP states they are losing their effectiveness and children are becoming immune to them as a result of being fed them like smarties

I got my licence when I was 18 but because uni was in Central London I never really drove apart from dads car on the weekends. I've been taking driving lessons to get back into it and will soon be ready to buy my car. I've always wanted a TT and visited al Naboodah some time back who were offering a good deal. My question though is it a safe option as my own first car? Think about this very carefully - from what you've said you are not an experienced driver and I'm not sure a TT as your first car is a sensible idea, especially here. Why not hire something inexpensive for a few months and make your decision when you are more competent to take on the likes of a TT. You can still have your dream, but maybe wait a little while first. I had a TT many years ago and i loved it, as a first car it is entirely up to you however take into account the insurance wont be cheap as it will be based on the value of car and you have to pay it in one installment. With regards to it being a first car go for it, my first car was a Golf GTI and i loved it!

I've used online Emirates booking for every flight I've ever purchased a ticket for my mother from Australia. Why can't you book it online? Mum has a different surname to me too and I've always used my husband's credit card to do it. I wouldn't have thought there'd be any issues with someone coming from Ireland. edited by dishydxb on 14/01/2013 One of my friends was stopped a few months back and they wanted her to present the C/C she couldnt as she didnt book it. They wouldnt let her travel Emirates can be funny about it on occasions and i just wanted to check how the OP's had got on.

She will be travelling from Southern Ireland Hmm....I don't see why you couldn't buy the ticket online. Perhaps do a test run on the internet first to see what the T&Cs are (about cc proof) before you track into their office to find out? I can pop into the one on SZR so it isnt out of my way I never trust CS over the phone as it isnt the best here :-)

Yes, you can go into any of their travel hubs and book a flight for someone else. If I recall correctly you can do it online and over the phone as well but will have to go in to one of their hubs in person to actually pay for it. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this point. Thanks i will pop in and see them over the weekend

Ladies I am looking for a part time Pakistani cook who can come 2-3hrs per week and cook. I am located in JLT. Kindly pass on any contact details if you know of any such services. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks! I don't think you can employ someone unless she is sponsored by you or comes from an agency. To otherwise do so would be illegal You cannot have a part time maid without sponsoring or coming via an agency so i doubt you can employ a cook under other terms

I dont find them very friendly there. I go to chi nail spa over in motor city and there is also a nail spa at the golf club now. I would try them over T & T. Their prices have increased too I don't find it relaxing anymore, too many people gabbing loudly on their mobile phones even though there is a sign saying no mobiles. It reminds me of a production line and i am not surprised the staff look miserable considering the hours they work

today for example I've had: breakfast - 1 weetabix and 80ml semi-skimmed milk = 107cal lunch - 1 medium banana = 105cal and for supper I'm making a 200cal meal from L&L's blog - stirfry chicken - which my family all eat so I haven't got to cook extra.... Hope that helps a bit. You do need to drink plenty of water too, or herbal tea etc Is that all you eat in a day? I would keel over with so little calories :-(

Personally speaking i feel that is a really low salary for him I do suppose it depends on your outgoings ( Do you like to socialise, go out for dinner and live a pretty decent life?) To me that is the whole point of being here You don't pay road tax on cars here and insurance is a percentage of the car cost however you have to pay it up front here ( Not in installments as in the Uk) Ideally i feel USD10,000 is an appropriate salary to live on ( plus the other added benefits) The cost of living here is much more expensive than the UK ( Clothing, food, eating out, alcohol etc is more expensive than home) However petrol isnt I cannot comment on monthly utility bills as we only pay water and electric Internet is expensive as are the TV channels I go out here much more than i would i home and although i am not a huge spender i like to have a good quality of life as we have the weather here Other posters will tell you differently however it depends on what life you and your family want.

If the guy had a stop sign and shot out making you swerve, he should have been given the fine..........but this is Dubai and even the Police don't know how to drive. Yep or know what an indicator is He didn't have his indicator on. I believe that I didn't even cross my lane....I have a tiny car so I don't need that much space....I just moved a bit towards the left side and the lane lines were dotted I guess. When I was getting my training, I was told that I can cross those dotted lines, but not the solid straight line. I hope I am making sense. If there was a stop sign on his side then he should of stopped although no-one does here. I doubt you can contest it to be honest. I got a speeding fine when it wasnt me or my car and i wasnt even in the country i was basically told tough. A car drove into the side of me years ago and the police almost gave me the pink paper and a fine until the driver of the other car admitted it was his error which was obvious!

If you are a senior strategic person, you will find something. It's the transactional positions that are a dime a dozen...If he does not have any HR experience, he would have to start at the bottom as a Coordinator or Generalist. I agree to differ, i work on senior strategic roles weekly and there are hundreds of candidates from all backgrounds looking The lower level candidates with only a few years experience in the UAE are the hardest to find.

Beebers, wanted to update you...been following paleo, similar to what you noted below and I used some of the great recipes on this site (http://www.paleoplan.com/recipes/) and managed to shift 1.5kg since Sunday. It's slow I know but ANY loss is great for me so I am soldiering on. I did not manage to get the shake as I did not have time to venture all the way to Dubai Mall on Saturday but its on the plan for this weekend. So far so good ;) 1.5kg since Sunday is great and not slow at all you should be averaging 2lbs per week The slower it takes the more likely you are to keep it off Keep at it :-)

Hi Neno, I am probably going to give you the least exciting advice ever, but here it is. The magic is adherence to a proper diet program, and I mean 100% commitment to it. Do you have a dietician at the gym, or a nutritionist there that can write a program for you? Exercise is fine and great, but keep an eye on that as well. You've only been working out a month, have you noticed any real changes in your physique? (not just weight on the scale, but are your clothes looser?) Make sure you [i'>push [/i'>yourself in the gym as long as you don't have any injuries. I have been a "fitness freak" since 2007, but I know where you are at, and trust me when I say, nothing gets rid of belly fat other than eating clean. Abdominal exercises will help strengthen your core, but unless you lose fat, you'll never see the effects. I have always yo-yo'd with my weight, but ballooned up to a staggering 102 kilos in January 2010 after 2 abdominal surgeries kept me out of the gym. I couldn't heal, couldn't work out, and ate a ton of junk, and boom, looked like I was carrying twins. I started doing cross fit, and walking, but the weight only changed significantly in March 2010 when I was honest with myself--that my diet wasn't as good as it could be. When I made that commitment, I dropped to 72 kilos in 6 months time. The weight only dropped when I followed my diet plan 100% to the tee. If you don't know how to eat clean, or don't want to hire a nutritionist, I think the Paleo diet (which is not really a diet but a lifestyle) is a good start, and not detrimental to your health. You can buy a book to learn the principles, and most people find it is convenient and can even follow it when going out to eat. Good luck x Edited to add: you may also want to check out the book "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips. That was the first book I ever bought when I got into health and fitness. Teaches you how to eat clean, and has guidelines on how to structure your exercise program. A lot of people use that as a starting point, and it works! It is less restrictive on food groups than Paleo, also. edited by Beebers on 03/01/2013 Beebers, have you lost any weight on the Paleo diet? I read it says, weight loss is a bonus, not necessarily guaranteed. Its pro's are more to keep you disease free. True? edited by SweetSugar123 on 03/01/2013 My friend followed the Body for Life and OMG how her shape changed, she lost so much weight and has kept it off. She said it was hard going initially but she now runs, lifts weights ( she isnt all muscley though) She was obese and couldnt walk far let alone run. She now runs marathons and teaches a spinning class. She had tried every diet there was and is a huge advocate of this
