Ok, so season 2 starts on OSN on the 1st of October.... BUT, I missed season 1! I have tried to download online but it is not available yet... no box set on the shelf yet either! I have programmed the machine to record... will have to save season 2 until I can get my hands on the first series! It is available for download as i have downloaded them all

I'd suggest volunteering, too. I suppose some people do work privately though to make some extra cash here and there by tutoring, babysitting, etc. Yes but who would leave their child with a stranger who isnt covered in the case of emergencies? etc plus if the police were called there would be trouble Not worth the risk Plenty of posters on EW would. I've seen posts asking for babysitters many times. Your second point makes sense, but aside from the legalities, it's not any different than "back home" edited by Expatriate on 26/09/2012 Except it is illegal here and not in the UK but each to their own :-)

We like Horrible Histories, and although not quite children's TV, we love watching the Great British Bake Off together...she now inspects all cakes, tarts, pies etc.for soggy bottoms, underbaked and overbakedness whilst commenting with the Mary Berry accent.... edited by Sugarbeach on 26/09/2012 I love the Great British Bakeoff and want Brendan to win!

Louisedvs: Yes - Johnsons holiday sun :) In Dubai ( Boots etc) i suppose they have Boots in Qatar you could get Boots own however even in Dubai i have never seen the Garnier or Johnsons etc I stock up at home and bring them over with me St Tropez do one that develops but it isnt as cheap as Garnier

My friend just alerted me to this and it's true. Basically from 2007,2008,2009,2010, if you scroll down on your timeline and click on the year, it shows your activity and a box with for example "4 friends posted on your timeline" - you can read the messages there. Facebook denies this http://www.zdnet.com/facebook-denies-exposing-peoples-private-messages-as-it-faces-french-fury-7000004756/ but I would check as me and several friends have noticed this. Nothing on mine? Do you mean it displays your private messages that you inbox not stuff written on your profile which all friends can see? Yep inbox stuff. It may not be on everyone's but it has been widely reported to be a problem and I was quite shocked to see private messages available to see publicly. Have hidden them all now, but just thought I'd warn others. I cannot see any of mine although i rarely if ever use PM so if anyone reads them i dont care as nothing personal there. I am really sceptical over FB privacy now as they make so many changes i am thinking of deactivating it all together

she rear-ended a guy at traffic lights, they turned red, he slammed to a stop and she was expecting him to go through..... nothing on the form that looks like a fine amount. Looks like that's her allowance gone for a while as I expect that to be more than 200! DH can sort out the insurance when he's home. Main thing is neither she nor the other guy were injured. Thanks anyway *sigh* It is usually 200 AED plus insurance will go up next year for claiming and the excess will have to be paid

I just now bought tickets. Unfortunately I was too late to buy anything better than regular standing in the back :( but my 13 year old will be so happy when she gets home and finds out her daddy finally said yes! Ladies , Anyone worries as much as i do about this concert, my daughter had her fan pit ticket but i am worried if the organizers can manage 25,000 teenagers screaming and may be pushing each other to see Justin or I am just being too scary mother. I really hope everything will be well organized Nothing is well organised here. Hi I need to pay a parking ticket issued by the police and having difficulty finding where I should pay it! The phone number is taking me round in circles, I've tried a couple of malls and looked online at the correct website but I still can't seem to find a definite place where I can pay the ticket. Does anybody know where I can do this please? Thanks I think you have to go to the police station next to the registration place on SZR My understanding is that although it says pay immediately you can pay when you next re-register your car Thanks but the ticket says that if it's not paid within 15 days it increases! I remember this happening to a friend of mine and he went down to pay it to be told by the police aah you can pay when you re-regsiter your car. Best to be on the safe side though

Thanks ladies, We ended up filling in the on line form as couldnt get through on any of the telephone numbers (but it was after work on Thursday). They emailed this morning to say they had the item :) so ive a happy hubbie again, thank goodness. This weekend it was my birthday and my husband got me a necklace and pendant which I love!! He was however overly generous and also got me the matching earrings, which I don't like. They just don't look right on me. He bought all of this from G&D and was given a store credit receipt. However I don't want to pick something else out, I would prefer it if we got the money back and he used it to buy something for himself. What do you think the chances are of getting the money back? Take it back and ask? They should have a sign to say what their policy is. I would imagine earrings cannot be returned but a necklace should

Do they have to include details of your prescription etc in the package? We would just be having MIL collect the script from the GP, collecting the medication, and mailing it off to us. We wouldnt have either the prescription (as the chemist wont give it back) or any invoice, as we wouldnt be paying for them I've tried asking FedEx about import requirements....but they started going on about invoices and perscriptions at source (even though I will arrange everything here)...i'm not sure if we are at cross purposes or not!!! I would photocopy the script and put it in the parcel. As long as it isnt on one of the banned pharmaceuticals etc here i wouldnt worry. If it is dodgy they would destroy

What's an EMIE number? DH just spoke to the store manager and apparently they're going to send it to the repair centre to fix it, and try and find out why the numbers don't match up. I'm taking it back in tomorrow so I'll keep you posted. Is DED the economic dept, CA? Serial number for the phone, we are having problems with I message so contacted apple direct as there is no apple store here. It isnt a problem with Apple so must be Etisilat although they said no too grrrr

Driving with lights on all the time (daytime running lights, introduced to the UK by Volvo) is compulsory in some European countries as it has been shown to decrease serious injury and deaths in road accidents by increasing visibility of cars on the road. Dipped headlights in Italy but i have never seen it in France, Spain, Germany or the UK. You could have a huge flashing light on top of your car and people will not care ( Unless you are the police) they even ignore ambulances here. I am aware of other drivers and not because they have their lights on ( however not everyone the same) I dont believe i would feel safer with my lights on ( My opinion only)

OK, so I really don't mean to come off as an obnoxious snob but every single afternoon my neighbors seem to light some form of incense and the smell always spreads to our apartment. I know that the smell might be pleasant for some, but I find it absolutely nauseating and it gives me a headache each time. However, I wouldn't want to offend anyone and don't really know what to do. Should I talk to them and ask them not to light it as it's making me feel sick? I know that they're doing it within the walls of their own apartment and it's not their fault that the ventilation system sucks in the building. I really don't want to start any sort of war with any of my neighbors either. Any advice would be appreciated. I would go and see them be polite and explain the situation. I wouldnt take offence if someone came to me

That's good advice, you wouldn't think that you'd have to check that. This is one reason I do not trust buying IT products here, even small accessories. I'd rather wait until I go home where there is more accountability. I put my EMIE number into the website the other day and it told me that my phone was bought from the UK. ( Bought very cheaply and hiked up in price here)

hi there..... i have used amazon in the uk for a few years and have not had any problems with them, but, they will only ship certain things over here.... books, dvd's etc.... anything more and they will not ship them for you..... i have always put in my po box as that is where they send them to..... hope this helps :-) I havent had any problems either with deliveries and have used them for years. I did have a DVD turn up late however they had sent another one and both arrived within days of each other

Hmmmm. So is it possible to buy the Iphone 4s here new in stores still? And it would NOT have iOS6 already? And how does 4s work with sim card - can I just take my etisalat prepaid sim out of my Nokia and pop it in? Or do I need to buy a new one to link it to the monthly pay-as-you-go / data plan? Sorry for all the daft questions, never had a smart phone before! TIA! You will probably need to register with etilisat again for a iphone data plan
