we had 2 officials turn up last year in the DIFC and they warned us about it and told us that we need to reduce our hours. Mind you, I have noticed that a lot more companies are not doing the reduced hours, for the non fasting workers. edited by mushypeas on 30/07/2012 They came to us also and said muslim fasters only

Hi ladies, If any of you lives in the Greens and has the Ariston dish washer could you please help me (they come with the flat, so I guess we all have the same in the Greens)? The Salt refill light keeps flashing, I have refilled the salt compatiment but it keeps flashing and the dish washer isn't working any more :-( Not sure what to do? TIA Mine had been doing the same for ages. I did get a guy out to fix it and it worked for a while but stopped again recently and i have stuck to washing by hand Emrill may be able to help

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I've just been alerted to a twitter feed, 50ShedsofGrey. I haven't laughed so much in years! e.g. "You sure you want this? When I'm done you won't be able to sit down for weeks." She nodded. "OK," I said, putting the 3-piece suite on Ebay. I read these last week hilarious!

I just wonder if it was all the English players who wouldn't sign it would this thread have been started... Absolutely! Why would you think otherwise? Personally I don't really like the national anthem and I'm not a royalist but if you're representing your team you should sing it, it's your face to the world, it shows you're proud of where you're from and who you're representing. If you're not you shouldn't take part. Couldnt agree more :-)

There was an article in the GN 3 days before Ramadan saying all companies must adhere to reducing working hours by 2 hours however the DIFC does not fall under the MOL therefore only fasting Muslims get this time off. The FZ's operate differently to non FZ's therefore it is best to check with government services there

[quote I went there 2 months ago and within a week they had all come off!! taking most of mine with them. Tips and toes are the best i have used however they are expensive This is what I'm terrified of - losing my own lashes! Maybe I'll just stick to the individual falsies for W Day and try not to cry! i do individual and falsies now although salon ink where i get my hair done has a new eyelash therapy where it naturally curls them. I am going to get mine done before going home next month so will let you know what the results are like :-)

...am completely obsessed with him, as are my kids, but it drives me nuts wondering how he does these tricks. The latest episode I've watched where he's in Brazil is amazing! A magician in one of the hotels says it's all staged and clever editing, but I just can't believe that every single person is in on it...seems a bit of a waste of time if that's how it really is...anyway, will live in hope he's really magic, lol... I love Dynamo!

Hi I am moving to Dubai late August and meeting up with a few friends for brunch (also newbies). We are looking for a few suggestions of places we could go for a REASONABLY priced brunch (really not looking for alcohol to be included but maybe if we could buy some wine on top?), but also somewhere with a play area or space that our kids could safely be amused in while we chat. The youngest child is 6 with the oldest about 9, so softplays for toddlers are unlikely to keep them amused! Probably doesn't have to be tonnes of equipment, more just space to make up games and chat and burn off some steam. I'm actually not even sure if such places exist! Any advice much appreciated, as I am sure in the next few years we can work our way around them all :), thanks in advance! Westin Ibn Battuta Gate Pergolas at the Al Murrooj Rotana Azure at Raffles All are kid friendly

I think it is so cheap as it is not a luxury salon and is very basic and is in Karama where business properties are obviously cheaper to rent than on Palm/ Marina area . However it is very clean and the ladies are friendly and the lashes are better than the ones I had done at Tips and Toes. Would 100% recommend as long as you don't mind the trek to Karama. x I go to Authentic Angels in Karama. AED150 for initial lashes then 75 or 100 for refills and they are really good. You can pick your length and thickness. It takes about 90mins to apply and last about 3 weeks of you don't put mascara/eyeliner all over them (as they clump and fall out). I don't wash face with water but use facewipes around the area as not to get them wet. You can swim with goggles but wouldn't advise putting face in water as they can come loose more easily. They also do good cheap waxing and mani pedis. It's behind Day to day supermarket in Karama Wow, that is much more purse friendly! Are they really ok? I mean AED 150-600 is a big difference. Glad I saw this. I was just about to book in at Sisters, but now not sure what to do! hi coffee mate i got this info on my mind ever since i read it :) i was thinking to go there and try it too! as 600dhs is a rip off,ive tried falsies few months back and it lasted for about a month i got tons of complement on it but it was just about 80dhs if im gonna convert as i did it back home.when are you going?we can go together tho. ;) I went there 2 months ago and within a week they had all come off!! taking most of mine with them. Tips and toes are the best i have used however they are expensive

Thank you ladies. I looked at a couple of Eman's tutorials but i have a question. Is the foundation placed before or after the eye shadow? she put it after. I put my foundation on before, however when doing my eyes i half a tissue and put it underneath to catch the bits. use a good primer on your eyelids too it helps keep the shadow on for longer

I see ladies in the mall putting making at Mac. Is this a trial before you buy their makeup or can you ask them to do u proper makeup and pay them? You can have a free trial with no obligation to buy at Mac as well as Bobbi Brown. However, I enjoy the tutorials my Eman on you tube. Here is one of her videos.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kQhV4XzoGk Be careful with the make up artists here, i had mine done and it was awful! I looked like a drag queen and the foundation was completely the wrong colour!

Bepanthen is usually used for napp rash and to keep a new tattoo moist ( stop it drying out) I would advise savlon or another antisceptic cream for cuts. Unless infected and oozing horrid stuff

Quick question, car is due to be registered early Aug but am selling later in Aug in any event, so does the car need to be registered before the due date on registration card or anytime the month it is due? Is there a grace period like with the insurance having 13 months. Ideally, want to hang onto the car for a couple more weeks then transfer to the new owner, or do I just take the car off the road/transfer earlier and hire one till I'm out of here? Thanks No grace period but i believe if you go over they just charge you for it registration is only for 12 months not like insurance. I dont know the cost for going over though and if you have no registration it may invalid your insurance if you have an accident although my friend got stopped and didnt have registration and they only charged her a fine of 200AED!

You anyways need a copy of the title deeds to register the rent contract and only with a registered rent contract you are allowed to register your visa ... Only sign the contract if you see the title deeds attached to it ... at least this is how I will handle it in future. Register your visa where? I have never given my rent contract over for my visa

Do you have PA experience? I only ask this because most employers now want candidates with at least 5 years experience ( 3 of which must be in the UAE) The can afford to be choosy now and unfortunately the days of hiring people based on transferable skills etc are long gone

am not sure if any of the ADsports channels you listed will be with English - i think ADSports6 is the English one, which you need to pay for. I discovered the "options" button on my Du remote control where the languages options comes up and often we can change across to English. I was able to do it for Wimbledon wow - that doesn't work on OSN :( Im sure there must be a way.... it usually works if the original narration is in English. I hope someone here can help you out. Ps thanks Louise!! Ill be home by midnight then, so Welcome i love the Olympics! Oh me too. Im a total fan. Iver the years Ive watched every day, all day which usually meant starting at midnight and watching till 4am and then dragging myself to work sleep deprived and then napping till 10pm until time for the olympics again! I always sit with a huge box of tissues so I can have a good cry for the winners, and the losers too. I remember watching Natalie Du Toit who has only one leg swimming in the able-bodied games and have a HUGE sob. Ill be in bits when that Oscar Pristorious chap runs without legs. My Dh doesnt watch sport and thinks Im nuts. I love the gymnastics and athletics although i shall be screaming for Team GB in the football on both Thurs and Sunday :-)

I am considering buying an iPhone in the UK, but want to know if I can use it on a pay and go package in the UAE. Does anyone know is it possible just to buy a sim on these packages from etisalat or du or do you need to buy the iPhone from them too... its not that clear on their websites! Thanks! I am sure you can buy just a Du or Etisalat Iphone package without buying the phone, at least it was possible when I had my blackberry and just got the bb service (Did with both Etisalat and Du) Do you want to buy your Iphone in the UK because it might be sim lock free? If you get an Iphone from etisalat it will be sim lock free, so you will be able to use it with other sim cards. I think the OP wants one from UK as they are cheaper to buy and you can do pay as you go. If you get one from Etisalat or DU don't you need to be on a contract? ( does that make sense) Thanks I have had prepaid and post paid BB service from both Etisalat and Du, so I assume it will be possible for Iphone as well. I didnt know that thank you :-)

If you want a good steak place, do not go there! MJ's at Madinat Jumeriah is awesome, Assado at Palace Hotel, Rib Room at Emirates Place, all really good - all with fine dining vouchers! I went to the Meat Co at the Madinat and both the service and the shoe leather tasting steak was awful plus the bill was ridiculously overpriced
