You need to either let her stay or kick her out and change the locks. Personally speaking i would do the latter!!

The only British shops that allow you to purchase online with a UAE C/C and deliver here are River Island and New Look. Dotty P's, Next, M and S, Miss Selfridge, Warehouse won't and there is no way around it. I have rang their customer service team several times regarding this and have asked them to add us to their list of countries as there are lots of potential buyers here. Opening an S n S account will work

Hi Ladies. M&S ships to the UAE for 15 GBP and takes 10 - 14 days. Do you think it would be better if i order directly or open a shop & ship account (which i still cannot understand despite reading many threads over here). What do you think? Thank you. You have to order in store though dont you? ( In the UK i mean) i dont think you can order online and have it shipped here unless you use SnS

The Greens is nice and pedestrianised. Lots of low level apartments, nice pools, shops and some restuarants close by. Easy access to the metro and tecom Sea isnt so close though. Rents for a 2 bed would be in their range

I am thinking of getting a 2nd credit card, and would love to hear on what cards you all have found to be a pain and what cards have been good to you and your sanity My first one is with NBAD and it has been trouble free so far RAKBank advertises a lot, as does Emirates NBD, are they as good as they claim to be? And do all banks require a blank security cheque ? :) I thought blank security cheques were not allowed anymore.

I went to a different hospital than my regular the other day and it had no valet parking. I was rather ****** off that we actually had to park the car ourselves. I dont see these things as luxuries anymore I see them as a part of my day to day life so obviously if I moved back to say UK it would take quite some time to get used to again! I've always wondered who used these facilities other than locals who seem unable to walk more than 6 steps... Well its not going to be your pet cat using the facility is it. Funny that you should mention a cat.............. Its pretty common sense so I feel bad for you that you've spent so much time wondering over such a small thing. People visiting emergency and very ill, elderly people, pregnant and not well or those who just dont make a big fuss over a comfort available to them required or not required. Did I say I had spent " so much time" ? No it crossed my mind when I saw the VIP parking and then the VVIP parking... edited by spongemonkey on 22/07/2012 A little yes and I have an ant invasion in my kitchen so i'll go deal with that. BTW What is VVIP parking? Very Very Important Person ;-)

I hire from Birmingham airport, and have been quoted 240 pounds for 11 days. I am sure prices does differ to which part of the country you are in. Friends rented from Heathrow recently and they had the hire for 14 days and paid the same price I will be paying. I was told that if you pick it up and drop it off at a carhire place a few miles away from the airport it is considerably cheaper. Apparently car hire places at the airport are charged huge rents so they bump the prices up

A bit of history... OH has an 8 year old daughter living with her mum at home in Aus. We have limited access because of where we are (two weeks a year on holidays and every second Christmas), so we like to skype to enable my OH to see her face every couple of weeks or so. Not too much to ask I reckon, compared to other custody/access orders I've heard of. Anyway, now the ex has started to give the child a choice of phone or skype when we call to skype with her. Of course, given the choice of skyping with Daddy and watching tv while on the phone, an 8yr old chooses the tv/phone option. We have asked the ex to "please be the parent" and not offer her the option of not skyping, but she accuses us of bullying *sigh* We pay, in the ex's own words a "generous" child support package including the broadband fees for the computer, and we think it is important for the child to keep this face to face contact with her daddy at this stage in her life. We've been to mediators and had lawyers involved, but when it comes to the crunch we can only skype on rare occasions as there's always an excuse. He spoke to the child on the last phone call about wanting to skype more often, and she seemed to understand but the ex is always the barrier. We're hoping she will get her own mobile soon, and we have a plan to review and update the parenting orders, but these things take time and money for lawyers. I try not to get involved in the situation, but any advice on how to handle this tricky situation is much appreciated. This may sound bad but it sounds as if if Mum isnt too concerned about this as her Ex Hubbie your man is no longer in her life. I doubt she will make the child SKYPE and will just ask her what she prefers. I suppose that is her role as Mum to decide that. My Neice is about the same age and will not Skype me although will whats app, bbm, text, fb chat and talk to me via the phone. Kids eh :-)

I used to love what they'd do at a cinema in Wales I used to go to. If you had a trouble maker who was disturbing others, they'd stop the movie, put the house lights up and kick them out! Public humiliation works best :) I remember that from years ago!

I wish they'd add "People who don't know how to turn off their mobiles" to this list. Agree, agree, agree, why bother going to the cinema It seems some people just need something to 'do'. Hence you get some who rock up late, yap for about and hour then leave - totally pointless. They should be kicked out

Hi there, just about to get my two rugs cleaned for the first time. I see that Churchill has had good recommendations. Anyone had recent experience with them, just checking to make sure they are still as good as they sound. Thanks. Also, any idea what I would pay to have a rug about 5 feet by 9 feet cleaned? I think it's part silk, part wool? (just guessing :). Many thanks. They did my sofa and tried to show me the water afterwards yuk They did really well with my sofa as i had managed to drop red wine down it. They got the stain out. I do not know about carpets though sorry

It's the birthday of a friend of mine next week and I asked him what he wanted for gift, he specifically said he's looking to get a new perfume and asked me to just surprise him. I never bought perfumes for men and couldn't care less what my ex boyfriends used so have no idea. He likes Burberry and Issey Miyake. His personality is pretty cool, yet laid back, like a hippie but doesn't dress like one. Any advice? I feel so stupid for asking him, now I feel obligated to not disappoint him! :-) Amen by Thierry Mugler is soooo nice!

Yes great. Ive seen teeny toddlers racing around aisles and also whimpering in fear in very scary adult movies like Troy (violent scenes for a tot) and The Clash of The Titans etc. Ruined it for us but really messing with a small childs head too. I had a movie ruined by a baby ( small baby) screaming through the entire first hour Yup- also had some great moved ruined by screaming children and usually arab men with their phones on loud shouting down the phone as if they are in a private screening. I am a loud shusher though haha I remember having a large family in front of me eating like a pack of hyenas and constantly talking. I tried to ignore ( as did the people next to me) however got to the point where i said " If you wanted to go for a picnic next time please go to the park/beach, as your constant talking and excessive chewing, munching noises are putting everyone off the movie". Thankfully they shut up grrr

Crook uses over Dh25,000 from Dubai man’s credit card to pay Abu Dhabi police A thief hacked into a Dubai man's credit card, and used it fraudulently to pay Abu Dhabi police fines. DUBAI Abu Dhabi Police have launched an investigation into a suspected hacking attack in which a Dubai resident’s credit card was illegally used to make 20 online payments to the police in the capital, XPRESS has learnt. The probe was launched after a Dubai-based engineer learnt that a hacker had siphoned off more than Dh25,000 from his credit card in a single day earlier this month. Rene T. Hinolan, a Filipino mechanical engineer, said the incident took place on July 3. “My bank had called me to ask whether I had authorised the use of my credit card for 20 transactions amounting to Dh25,130 with the Abu Dhabi Police. I told them I did not. I was shocked when they told me that I may have fallen victim to a hacker,” said Hinolan, who lives with his wife and three children in Al Baraha. It was not immediately clear whether the amount hacked was used to pay for traffic fines, but there was only a single “merchant” in all the 20 transactions — Abu Dhabi Police. An official from Abu Dhabi Police confirmed they are currently working on at least one case of credit card fraud, but did not provide details due to its currently being under investigation. Hinolan, said the amount of the transactions ranged from Dh900 to Dh2,400. His card had a credit limit of Dh30,000. When he went to the bank to sign a dispute form the next day, he faced another shocker: “A colleague of mine also filed a similar dispute form over similar fraudulent transactions.” A bank spokesperson confirmed to XPRESS that the hacking incident did take place and they were working with authorities Numerous hacking attacks have hit victims in the UAE, leaving massive financial damage, but the recent case is unusual. Hinolan suspects his credit card may been used to pay for traffic fines in Abu Dhabi. “But I couldn’t have incurred such fines because I rarely visit Abu Dhabi and I don’t drive.” The UAE Central Bank issued a circular on February 1 calling on all the country’s banks to beef up their defences against hackers. Experts at the Central Bank were reported to have foiled attempts to hack and sabotage the bank’s website. A computer expert told XPRESS: “Tracing the circumstances surrounding these transactions seems like a straightforward forensics job. Whoever has done this did not think it through properly. He may have been the dumbest hacker — robbing someone in order to pay the police.” Netherlands-based Christiaan Beek, Team Leader of Incident Response & Forensics for online security firm McAfee, said: “A hacking job of this sort would not be a smart thing to do. There are several ways you can trace the perpetrators. If he the hacker used the cards to pay for traffic fines, tracing those involved would seem to be a straightforward job – through the vehicle licence plates or maybe even insurance companies.” http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/general/crook-hacks-dubai-man-s-credit-card-to-pay-abu-dhabi-police-1.1050943 ---------------- At least his bank called him, unlike mine :( Anyway, I found out last weekend that the same thing happened to another friend a few months back.....AED8K, 7 transactions in a single day. Different bank but the same reaction as SCB. It took him 3 months to get the transactions reversed. It would also take months in UK to get the transactions reversed ( Not just Dubai). Unfortunately for the poor person it takes forever to do.

I've never seen this rule being practised by grand cinema or any other cinema in the UAE. I understand you have kids and you want to enjoy an evening out but go to an earlier viewing/appropriate movie for kids or pay for a baby sitter! It is a new role and in the Express newspaper today. I seriously hope they enforce it I agree. It's not fair on the kids, never mind any adults going for a quiet night out. I just wish they would block mobile phone signals too. The amount of time movies have been ruined by peoples phones beeping and them talking on them.

Has anyone been rejected for giving blood due to having lived in the UK between 1980 and 1996 due to Mad cows disease? My friend just tried to give blood in Sharjah and couldn't! I was planning to go to Latifa this weekend..... I have no idea although between 2000 and 2006 i regulated donated blood in the UK If i had mad cow surely i would of noticed it by now as beef was a staple part of my childhood growing up in the late 70's. Every Sunday roast :-)

I've used churchill three times now and they have been great. They offer both wet and dry cleaning - dry is more expensive but they come and check out the sofa first to advise on the best option. To wet clean my 5 seater large corner sofa is 130aed Hope this helps Their number is 800 7076 and I got it through a previous recommendation on here I paid 250AED! for a five seater. How did you get it so cheap ( it was wet clean too) and this was 6 months ago

Hi There I had augmentation (under the muscle) exactly 4 weeks ago, with Dr Imran Tahir whose office is based at the British Lasik clinic on Beach Road. The op was carried out at Medcare hospital near Safa park. I cannot recommend him highly enough and the aftercare has been second to none, I have had 3 post op follow up appointments since and my next one is in 2 months. The price was AED 28,000 and that covers everything pre, during and post op. I didn't have to wait on a long waiting list for an appointment either and he booked me in almost immediately. It was fairly painful, but it is more complicated and intrusive if they do under the muscle, so apparently this is pretty normal and I have to say, 4 weeks later and I am thrilled with my new twins :) You can google him and find the number for the British Lasik clinic very easily. Hope that helps I was told it was easier to do it under the muscle and that is why most surgeons prefer this method... I too love mine, best thing i ever did!
