Ugh BBM is an absolutely killer for a relationship. Men get complacent and think they can just message you instead of actually picking up the phone or meeting you and having a meaningful encounter. I would stop replying so quickly which I know is hard since you want to maintain that contact but if things continue then you risk having a pure BBM relationship (and how many other ladies does he have on BBM that he chats to?) Try to wean him off the bad habit by using it only for transactional purposes - tell him you're at home for him to call, or to arrange to meet up. The more "real" encounters you have, the less he should rely on this messaging service to reach you and the more he will get to know the real you. I don't know how many arguments / misunderstandings have occurred in couples due to messages being taken the wrong way or misread. It's great for a bit of flirty chat but not a substitute for a proper convo. It does sound like he likes you tho :) Be aloof, be busy and let him chase!! Like! Agree, it is lazy communication and you do not want to be managed that way If someone is in to you they will pick up the phone and arrange to see you and then make further arrangements. Most of my Male friends who BBM and Whats App continually have several women on the go ( I know) and say any girl they really liked they would call otherwise what is the point?

I am working for a company that has said if I get married I will lose all the benefits of my package, i.e. accomodation, health care, flights, etc, and I will recieve only my salary. All married women there are currently just local hires, on their husbands' visas. If my husband to be was able to sponser me that would be fine, but he is not able to do this and his work would not provide me with all the benefits I would lose. I have a couple friends who are also in the same situation, and some who have left to go to another place of work due this. (Just to add, if a man working there gets married, he continues to receive everything as normal.) Anyway, my question is, is this correct? I was told by someone it is not - that the person with the highest salary/benefits package has to continue to receive it. I have searched alll over for information on this matter, but have yet to find anything. So if anyone knows the answer or could point me in the direction of someone who does, then it would be much appreciated. I have heard of it however i do not know of anyone personally it has happened too Why not call the MOL they have a free phone number you can call Good Luck!

What kind of effort have you made? You can't always expect others to approach you. People are busy in their day-to day lives, not everyone is going to like you, and not everyone is going to care to get to know you, that's life. I don't know my neighbors, they don't know me, and I'm fine with that. Focus on getting to know people with similar interests or hobbies. I lived in a community where everyone knew everyone and everyones business and i found it stifling, you couldnt go anywhere without anyone knowing etc etc Back in the UK i know my neighbours pretty well but only because i spent most of my life there and come from a small village. Family also live close by. I love the fact that i can keep to myself here. I have had 2 new neighbours in 2 years and rarely see them although i do say hello if i do. Everyone is different and i don't think they are mean

If you go home this way, avoid it like the plague. The traffic is banked way way back and they are still clearing the cars involved in the accident. PS: not sure if this is the name of the bridge! edited by littleone on 03/07/2012 Yes it is. Is it heading towards FC or away from if that makes sense?

A lot of drivers, including thie minibus drivers have a very casual attitude to driving badly, if pulled over, the fine they get is probably a laughing matter when having tea with friends; maybe people who drive like nutcases or swerve in and out should be fined 3 months salary ? driving licence and car taken away from them. Some people have more money than sense so 3 months salary wouldnt work. I have registered my car and watched people paying thousands in fines without a moments hesitation I know someone who paid 33,000dhs in fines one year and had his car impounded. It was a lot of money to him but not enough to put him off driving badly and incurring more fines. I also know people who "budget" enough to pay their fines come registration time as they know they are inevitable. personally I am a bit naughty with salik top ups and account for maybe 1 or 2 radars, but some people literally put aside thousands knowing they will have to cover their fines. I also read that you can register a new car for 3 years now so imagine 3 years worth of fines! eek

[ [b'>On the other note though, when I am going 15+ above the speed limit, on the fast lane, I still get tailgated or flashed. I move most of the time (although I don't see why they can't just change lane and overtake when there are no cars).[/b'> Not wanting to offend, but IMO, you appear to be a perpetrator of bad driving when it comes to lane discipline, why would you be driving in the farthest left lane and encouraging other drivers to undertake you, if as you quote "In the fast lane, I don't see why they can't change lane and overtake [b'>when there are no cars[/b'>". If there are no cars, why are you driving in the 'fast lane'?????? edited by Kezzler on 03/07/2012 acutally they would have to undertake if you are in the fast lane No offense taken. Sorry, I should have used 'undertake'. Not that I encourage them, I know undertaking is wrong but if there are no cars on the left I think it is a much better option than tailgating someone. I drive on the furthest lane because I drive 15kph+ speed limit a lot of times so driving on the furthest lane is the best option instead of changing lanes often and slowing down and speeding up often. The thing when cars who drive 160kph is when they tail gate me and no one's on my left, I feel intimidated it takes long for me to move out because I try to maintain the same speed. But anyway, I'm not one to judge those who drive too fast since I go above the limit as well, just never beyond 20kph. I just think tailgating is too dangerous. It isn't just the tailgaters who sit on your bumper who are dangerous. People drive far too close, sit in the fast lane and do not move. That lane is for overtaking not sitting in , if you have a blowout at 120km in the fast lane on SZR imagine. I have seen it and the driver had no chance. 5 car pileup. 1 fatality

I would hate to be a learner driver here - no wonder the pass rate is so low. Can you imagine actually learning to try and control a vehicle AND having to check for loonies around you as well? The "hazards" I had to learn to look out for in England were people potentially crossing the road ahead, perhaps an old lady not looking, NOT tailgaters, idiots racing past swerving, cutting people up etc. It's actually a pleasure back home where people give you right of way with a friendly wave and don't honk if the traffic light turns green and you haven't moved in 0,5 seconds!! I miss people who give you a wave when you let them out :-) That's probably because they are in such a state of shock at somebody politely letting them out here that they react too late :) Haha probably, although when i do let people out it tends to be the Emirati men who give me a wave in return :-) I always say thank you if someone lets me out (or in) and I am neither Emirati nor male. Nice to hear :-) neither am i lol

I do agree that people do have different opinions on certain matters however there have been instances on here where people jump on people for things they have written. We are all entitled to our own opinion and should also respect others however it should be done with both tact and respect as we are all gown ups :-)

Someone else on here contacted Sharjah police who was told that a Dubai or AD licence would not cover them through Sharjah so it could be a bit of a grey area. I suppose one would have to ensure a driver had a licence and would be comfortable transporting alcohol through other Emirates. It is a chance we take i suppose. Fortunately i have never been stopped

UAE is hardly the most diverse country in the world, I don't think "many nationalities with different standards of driving" is the crux of the problem. Considering a few of my friends here didnt have to even sit a driving test in their home country worries me slightly

Bear in mind that what you are asking a driver to do is illegal (assuming you live south of Sharjah). If he/she has an alcohol licence they can safely transport through Sharjah Chief of Police told me that :-)

Unfortunately it doesnt matter how you drive here. You will always get tailgaters, people who push in, people who change lanes suddenly, people on mobiles ( not just talking, texting) the list is endless. There are so many nationalities with different standards of driving that unless there is a huge police presence giving them the power to sort this out it will never change. For the people who have never been tailgated or flashed lucky you as it can be massively intimidating, for those who have never been in any form of accident you can count your lucky stars too. I have seen more fatalities and awful driving on the roads here than anywhere in the world. I have been driving for over 20 years, did a defence driving course through the military and have driven all over Europe. It doesn't matter how great a driver you are, with the numpties here accidents can and will happen. .. I just hope all the drivers on here stay safe :-)

GA... I must agree that there have been times on other threads I noticed that something I write either gets horribly misunderstood, or misquoted. I prefer feedback with is helpful, useful and given in a kind and supportive way rather than aggressive and accussationary, which is how it sometimes degenerates Im afraid. Couldn't agree more.. some people just have nothing better to do hilsbils. Best to let it go over your head :-)

I used to get this problem in a particular hotel, with children belonging to tour groups, always from the same place. One night I was so fed up I waited for the little wretches, door handle already turned, door unloacked, and checking thru the peep hole. As they ran up and were about to bang on my door, I wrenched it open and yelled "rarrrrrgh!" like a big scary monster and they ran away screaming! LOL... but they never did it again! Sorry can't help with the pool situation...! Love it!

All the rage right now in Pakistani and Indian circles primarily due to "designer lawn" such as [url=https://www.facebook.com/sanasafinazpage'>Sana Safinaz[/url'>, [url=https://www.facebook.com/elanonline'>Elan[/url'> and similar Thank you i learn something new every day :-)

I am actually astounded by some of the reactions here regarding how acceptable most people find the arm of the law to be. astounded. That was actually my point earlier. The long arm of the law keeps growing beyond what it was intended in my opinion. That said, my sin is almost 3 and we chose to have him circumcised. My daughter is almost 5 and has her ears pierced. I doubt my son is going to one day be enraged when he realizes there was a choice. No other man i know has been upset about it. Others don't have to like it or approve because it isn't ther child. Nor do we owe an explanation to the world. Some decisions are personal. I understand circumcision is done for religious beliefs however whether i agree or disagree is neither here nor there but why pierce a child's ears? putting holes in them for what? they dont care about earrings. I dont understand that at all. Can someone enlighten me on this ( genuine question) Or is it done so they look pretty in the parents eyes.

After a bit of advice from anyone that has travelled Emirates with baby recently. I'm flying on my own next week with 3-month old and would like to take my buggy up to the plane doors, as he didn't like being in the Baby Bjorn for so long when I flew with him a month ago. On the website it says that it depends on cabin space, so I wondered how many people had been able to do so recently? And whether it comes out at the plane doors afterwards? Or do I still need Baby Bjorn for that bit of the journey? We have a collapsable Mamas & Papas Sola - and I am travelling Business, although I don't know if that makes any difference. Also what happens at Xray if you do have the buggy? Would I have to take him out and collapse it, so it can go through X-ray scanners? Or just push him through the body scanner? I think they provide them at the immigration/scanners part. I am sure i have seen emirates ones and have never seen anyone push their own to the plane door. I may be wrong though. Skykitty is good for knoweldge on your query
