There is a Primark in Ibn Battuta but now realise its probably the fake one. Its cheap but then so is Max store also in Ibn Battuta for every day cheapie clothes. Primark is suing the one in Karama apparently for using their name when it isnt their shop. I am surprised there is one with the same name in Ibn

The maximum EOSG payment is two years' salary. If a firm decides to pay more than that then you should be very happy! Article 132 - section 2. Isn't that full salary though?, after 2 doesn't it reduce to part salary up to a max of years served with a company?

Anyone seen any other 'fake' shops in Dubai or Abu Dhabi? I heard there was a 'Tescos' in karama. Yes but it isnt the supermarket, nor is ASDA

I agree with Louise. I had a chat with a pilot and now not nervous anymore. He really put me at ease. I am more scared driving on SZR each morning and evening!

It is a good use of time in the summer, with little else available to do other than shop! See good friends, and leisurely drink/eat all afternoon! I love them personally ;) Like. I for one enjoy trying the new ones and at home would never of tried or been able to afford half of the foods i eat here :-)

Not everyone continually eats for 4 hours. I spread my food across 4 hours and don't see how that is gluttonous. I can spend that amount of time in a restaurant at home or here especially when i am with friends and family

We went to Al Qasr not long ago. I wanted to take my parents and thought we'd all have a good time on a all you can eat package! Anyway sorry to say we had a hurrendous time with Brits sceaching, shouting and running wild. Totally ruined it for us. I know alcohol is included in these brunches but I couldnt believe how wild everyone was and the hotel seemed to just ignore it as a usual friday brunch thing. I havent been for a while but never found this at Al Qasr. That is a shame as it is in a beautiful setting :-(

I know lots of people get nervous when flying so please let me know if you recommend taking Valium. Does it help calm you or does it make you feel groggy? Valium sent me the other way. I was hyper alert and it did no good whatsoever I used to hate flying but told myself that it was far safer than driving on SZR and once i spoke with a pilot and several of my crew friends my fears alleviated Can you get valium prescribed for fear of flying here?

Or it depends That is a total price. I didnt start mine until i was 39 and it all depends on the person i suppose :-)

Al Barari remote? Hardly. It's off Emirates Road near Global Village, DSO and Arabian Ranches. Close to Dubai Mall, Mirdif City Centre and Festival City. Same with Al Barsha. It might be a shock to some but Dubai does not begin and end in Jumeirah. sorry, i've never heard of it !! lol our villa is for sale with 2 different agents at 2 different prices :D Take a look at their website (and location map) www.albarari.com. LThe villas are to die for! One can dream....... Never heard of Albarari, and do not believe it is such a developed community. The website might show a magnificent community, but from my experience, photos and the reality on the ground are always very different... it is developed and a hidden gem. Very beautiful development I have been lucky enough to see it :-) edited by louisedvs on 19/06/2012

I have used the translation bureau in the Sultan Business Centre ( next to Lamcy) I only used it to translate a UK driving licence to an Arabic one. They did do it the same day for me and were helpful. They are on the ground floor facing you when you walk into the business centre

This may sound harsh but it sounds as if he doesn't want kids or to marry you. I have had several friends and one of my exes years ago said the same thing after a divorce and they are now married ( unfortunately to different women) Men know when they want to settle down and no matter of hanging around, riding it out will make them change their mind. If you are happy to coast along the way you are then go with it, if you want committment etc then cut your losses and find it eleswhere, life is too short. Personally speaking if someone told me they loved me after 7 months i wouldn't know what to say ( and i have been in love) relationships develop at different levels for different people and nowerdays people bandy the L word around far too often for my liking, that is only my opinion. I feel men struggle far worse in divorce than women do, we have a massive support system where men are told to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and get back out there. If he has told you point blank he doesnt want certain things then believe him. Men pretty much mean what they say. Take it from someone who has learnt the hard way in the past. You may have to walk away and he may not chase you down but then he may realise what he has and realise that. Make yourself happy first. That is the most important thing. I hope whatever you decide is the right decision for you. Good Luck!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: There is a new law in place (came into force about 2 months ago) whereby the Freezones now fall under the wing of MOL. Therefore if you have a ban from an LLC company it is now applicable in the Freezones also. There are ways to overcome a 6month ban though. Hence now when you apply for a visa in the Freezone you have to provide Labour Card Cancellation docs, the circular was issued in the Freezones in this regard at the end of May. I am confused, do you mean this for limited contracts only? as i work with candidates moving roles within all FZ 'severy day and none of them have had problems with bans etc. From Jan 2011 provided you have a certain level of education and earn a certain salary they are no bans and NOC's are no longer provided. I am completely lost with regards to the FZ info above.

A friend stayed there and left after a month because the windows arent double glazed (or if they are they are poor quality) and therefore it is very noisy. Also the apartments are very small. Better to go across to JLT! Totally Agree - a few years ago we were shown all of them, terrible! Also, one of them has the worst car parking driveway - you will scratch your car every day :( Agree too friend lived in one and it was tiny and if you are facing the Marina you get the noise of the traffic too

If you sign a limited contract and leave before the 3 years my understanding is that you have to pay back a standard amount of money and you get an automatic 6 month working ban. This has happened to 2 of my friends in the past. I dont think it matters if you are on Fathers/Husbands visa etc as it is linked to the labor card

I second Diamante. My GHD's gave up on me after over a decades worth of use and after much research I bit the bullet and bought the Cloud 9 straighteners from Pastels. They weren't cheap but they are great. You can have naturally straight hair as well as poker straight or tight curls and everything in between. Best decision I made! I 3rd gave my GHD to one happy 11 year old Niece :-) Cloud nine all the way!
