We went to an organised Jubilee party on Friday There were 50 of us and everyone had to wear, red, white and blue We had a typical English buffet ( pork pies, sausage rolls, vol au vents) and lashings of Pimms. Even the dog had a union jack collar. We toasted the Queen and played the national anthem. It was fantastic and a great turnout. :-) edited by louisedvs on 03/06/2012

Hi ladies, I really want to get hair extensions but I dont want to pay the extortionate prices at some of the salons here. I've been quoted over 4k by most. At the same time I used a male mobile stylist last year who gave me good quality hair but he wasnt great at applying and you could clearly see my hair and then the extensions. He was rubbish at blending. Any ideas for someone cost effective but very good? Thanks! How many do you need to be put in? I only have 40 in at the moment and it cost me 1600AED now i did have 200 and it cost me alot :-)

Are you after a british curry which isnt really a curry or a authentic indian/pakistani curry? good point - if it's the latter then there's only one place to recommend: Ravi's! Have been going there for years... never had an issue and i am not good with spicy food. It is my favourite place in Dubai!

Its such a shame there isnt an Ann summers here ! when I was back in the UK over easter, I went to a hen night and the bridemaid purchased these hairbands with a p%6nis on the top sticking out ! it was hilarious ! you got these hoops to go with and you had to chuck the hoops and try and get them on the p%6nis ! try doing that after a few too many jager bombs !!!!!!!!!! My friend had those in the UK with P@@is drink stirers. They hired an old red london party bus. The pictures were fab.. I had mine in Amsterdam which was a complete blur haha

I hated the lasting sedative effect of antihistamines, which takes all morning to wear off - it made me feel as if I hadn't slept well anyway. Try Paul McKennas "I can make you sleep" CD's, it seems to get you into a good sleep pattern within a few days and then you only need to use it occasionally. I have a sleep app on my phone, you can have waves, rain etc! It lulls me off every night and the rain one reminds me of the UK!

Has anyone any suggestions for fun hen party games? We played the how well do you know each other game - the questions? Pass the parcel ;) Truth or Dare Pin the p.nis on the hunk Polly the last one made me spit my coffee over my keyboard There was one we played where you had to bite the top off a walnut whip and eat the mallow inside without breaking the chocolate. You had to have both hands behind your back though!

Genie, I find it hard to believe that it is because of me buying the last 6 bottles of cordial that this is where it has all gone. I bought them because they are sold out everywhere. As Sue62 and hilsbils suggests I think whoever the powers that be are that decide what comes into the UAE or not, have decided this is just not on their list anymore. My 6 bottles hardly constiute taking stock as soon as it comes onto the shelves. A little melodramatic I think! I think she was joking ;-)

If using yoghurt, it has to be a 'live' yoghurt. Sadly, antibiotics and thrush often go hand in hand :( Sanddy is right you can buy Trimethorpim over the counter here which i have used for awful UTI's. Cranberry juice is good too. I hope you feel better soon!

I've had these (although I have heard that they are reluctant to deliver to apartments). It was OK but more expensive than Barra and one of the cases was 'off'. I've always made the trip since. I have used one here many times but i dont know if it is legal here and i will not name them for obvious reasons. No issues and slightly more expensive that above however when i compared the cost of the beer with here and the UK most of it came out cheaper here! I would Google and you will find a few.

Are you flying to Oman or are you going by car? As far as I know the rules are enforced by the airlines and not the country itself. I went to Oman last year with 4 months left on my passport without any problems. I agree with the above

Just be careful that you accept the right job as taking a role as a stepping stone to something better could be problematic due to your work visa You have to earn a certain amount to be eligible to change roles within 2 years here so it is best that you try and have plenty of interviews first in order to gauge the company/offer etc Good Luck!

Hello Everyone, I hope you can help and provide me with as much advice possible. I have now been living in Dubai for nearly three months. I moved out here, due to my partner being offered a great opportunity to work in Dubai. However this mean't I had to give up my job in the UK, although I am not complaining!! To be honest, I thought it would be fine seeking work out here, but three months without anything, I am now beginning to worry that I will not find anything at all. My working experience has been in Visual Merchandising, I have four year experience in this field, however not being successful with finding anything I have now decided to look at other routes such as admin positions and even Marketing as I also have experience in this area. My working background is in Marketing and Brand Identity, having previously gained a BA (Hons) 2:1 in Marketing with Business Studies. I hope you can help? Many Thanks Hello and welcome to Dubai I am ex recruitment and to be honest finding a role here can be problematic as it is down to timing and availibilty. Have you registered with the agencies here? Expat Woman has a job page Kershaw Leonard BAC M.E Gulf Talent Alot of roles here are found due to networking etc. Trying to find a position in an area where you may not have UAE experience can be difficult due to the sheer volume of qualified candidates in the region. Keep at it and i am sure you will find something soon. Good Luck!

There is almost a 5 year age gap between my 2 sons, if I go for a third baby would it be unfair on the oldest if the gap between the 2 youngest was just 2 or 3 years? Not at all i am the youngest of 4. My 2 older sisters are 8 and 9 years old and my brother 3 years older.. My Sister has a gap of 12 between her 1st two and 3 years with her youngest
