Do you have any friends in Dubai that could go to the property and speak to the tenants face to face regarding this? Good Luck!

No I didn't do the gallette. I had soft boiled eggs in the morning. 1 day I had fish, steamed, and this was kind of new to me because I'm not a fish lover but I did like the dory fish with some garlic and steamed. Nice. Next day I had chicken, lobster, tuna steak, steak and so on. So I didn't get bored. I might now consider doing the gallette. Last night I tried the yogurt stuff because I wanted to have something sweet and that did the trick. The other thing that I liked was having the milk (skimmed). Also I used fat free ham/turkey for those times when I wanted a snack Did you buy the book? I gave up after 3 days, i felt i was massively depriving myself of certain food groups and got sick of the food. The weight i did lose was purely water and doing WW online served the same purpose. I lost the same amount of weight on WW in the same time as Dukan plus i am was able to eat more food groups

I always thought the bassients were in front of you attached to the wal. If there is another seat behind yu i cannot imagine they would fix a bassinet behind you if that makes sense Perhaps if you look at the picture of the aircraft online and its layout it may help or call the contact centre :-) edited by louisedvs on 25/04/2012

A few years ago my husband and and I were at the Westin and one of the female guests was swimming (or floating???) topless - I was so shocked that no-one said anything - they would keep on appearing on the top of the water! :o Did I mention it was during Ramadan!!!! That said I don't have an issue when ladies are lying in their front and undo their clasps (nothing to see!) to get a more even tan! I have been on JBR beach seen women topless and the police patroling. They didnt even glance at them Personally speaking if i see people inappropriately dressed in western countries i could not care less. Who are we to judge? It is their business and it doesnt bother me if people wish to cover either.. As long as people are not physically harming people then who cares :-) In my case I told her as she was providing great entertainment to the locals on the other side of the chain link fence. I also gave her the benefit of the doubt that she maybe did not know this or the fact that she could be arrested - which in those days she certainly would have been by the police who patrolled the public beach next door on an almost hourly basis. Also back then there was reaction to these incidents by a clamping down on some things- which affected those of us who had to live rather than just holiday here. What did she say when you told her? some people just dont care here unfortunately.

I like to listen to talk back radio instead of music. Are there any decent talk back radio channels in Dubai? Have you tried Dubai Eye - 103.8? Some of their current affairs programmes are quite good, but nothing beats BBC Radio 4 (over the internet)! I love Malcolm and Brandy in the AM I only listen to Coast or the Ipod.. The stations here are dire!

This is what I posted a week or so on the books forum.....I have read 2 more since! they are added to the bottom Just finished 'Me before You'. Still have tears in my eyes hours later! I could not put this book down. You must read it. Since CHristmas I have read 15 books (got a Kindle for christmas). This is what I have read: 1. The Hunger Games - I didn't particularly like this one. It feels too teen literature to me. Like reading 'Tomorrow, When the War Began' as an adult. A fantastic book for a teenager but not quite the same when you're in your 30's. 2. The Help - a great easy read that was beautiful to read.I have subsequently seen the movie which I also loved. 3. Saving Katya - a short story but pleasant enough 4. The Bridge - another short story and quite enjoyable 5. Chasing Rainbows - I can't even recall what this was about so was obviously totally unmemorable. 6. Chasing China - interesting if a bit farfetched to totally hit it's mark. 7. The Collectibles - I really enjoyed this book. 8. Leaving the Comfort Cafe - unmemorable 9. The Language of Flowers - read this for a bookclub and loved it. so different and beautiful to read. 10. Growing up Amish - I found this too self indulgent and all a bit tedious. But interesting to give insight into this different world. 11. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - interesting and totally different to what I normally read. Recommend if you are looking for somehting a bit unique. 12. Children of the Fog - a good story but not that fantastic. 13. Annie Begins - an easy read but I found it a bit slow and boring. 14. Watch Me Die- this was an intereting book. Lighthearted but serious mixed together. 15. Me Before You - This is the best book I'd read in ages. 16. The Trunk Key - a Kindle short story - an interesting read. Only took about an 50 minutes so read it in one go. 17. Table for Five - I loved and hated this book. It's a beautiful little story and I really enjoyed reading it. But the author just about spoon feeds you the emotional dialogue. there was no thinking required on the readers behalf. And if you didn't understand the first time you got it told to you again and again. But an enjoyable read and I read in one day. Shows how sad i am i am 40 and loved the hunger games haha :-)

No laws of the road apply here.. It is a joke, most people have no idea how to approach a roundabout let alone use the right lane. You just have to be confident and go for it. (Mind you don't cause a crash or hit someone). The road system here isnt the greatest and no-one pay alot of attention to what is right. I read today that certain nationals here see using your indicator as a sign of weakness!! I know where you mean but cannot describe if that makes sense

I doubt they would arrest you for pecking your Husband on the cheek or being affectionate with your kids.. Walk round any mall here and you will see Emirates and other nationals holding hands. Go to the airport which is rife with police and stand at the arrivals gate. I am sure as long as you arent behaving in a disrespectful " tongue down throat" groping moment then you should be okay. Anyone remember the couple that got caught having *** by the police in their heavily tinted window car? They were married and didn't get prosecuted as no-one could actually see in and it was classed as their private domain even though they were in a carpark Many people great people here with a kiss on both cheeks and how many men walk around holding hands or with their arms around each other? ( Bur Dubai, Deira, Karama)

I'm afraid that there is no quick (sustainable) fix. Calories in per day needs to be less than calories burned per day to lose weight. A great way to burn a lot of calories in a relatively short session is RPM (also known as spinning). It's also great fun. Agree healthy eating of around 1500 calories per day, cardio and weights.. RPM great but not on the bum haha

why not try the four hour body diet. Both me and DH have been doing it for a month. DH has lost a stone and i have lost about 4KGS...it is great because you dont eat any carbs such as bread, pasta, potatos or rice etc and no fruit or fruit juices. No diary apart from eggs for 6 days but on the 7th day you have a cheat day where you can eat anything you like. It is just a high protein diet where you are recommended to have beans with most meals if you can manage it. Believe me I have tried every diet going even Cambridge where i lost about 2 stone but gradually put a stone back on over time. This diet is really great. Sure you can buy the book in Dubai Same as Dukan and Atkins really :-)

Yes, have had both my last jobs through websites (Gulf Talent especially) - recruiters have contacted me through here. As loranaji says, don't give up, but do make sure the CV posted is FABULOUS. I can't tell you the amount of CVs I reject as they have poor written English and bad grammar (and this is from native English speakers!), or ones that run to over 2 pages - you just get bored. Make sure the CV is a 'teaser advert' - make the recruiter want to call you as you sound perfect for the job, without giving everything away. Couldnt agree more!

No reputable agency here, or anywhere else, will ask you for money. They get commission from clients when they place you, so please don't send them any money, especially if you haven't even had an interview with the company WITH the job. What are you after? I know quite a few people with vacancies (genuine!) at the moment, so may be able to help... True, recruitment agencies bill the client not the candidate.. Tell them to BEEP it up their BEEP hehe

no problem - they can renew at Oman border - just exist; buy a visa to Oman and come back in - just take a day trip to Hatta or somewhere near. Yep this is exactly what I did when my employer was having problems applying for my visa and I ran out of days. TBH just went out of UAE into Oman, turned around and came straight back into the UAE. Friends of mine do this all the time.. :-)

Those clickers were lethal, they were so hard and just as you it then moving at top speed our hand would get in the way and you would end p with a great big bruise. Don't think elf and safety woukd allow them nowadays! Jackie was great, esp the problems page, what a lot I learnt about s # x that my mother would never have been able to discuss with me. This is a great thread. My older sister had this great little portable record player that could be packed away like a little suitcase. I thought it was the best thing ever. When I was a bit older I also used to tape my fav songs from the radio and I still have some of those cassettes! [b'>My sister had one of these record players. It was light grey and I was envious as I wanted one as well but was too young[/b'> I loved the Vesta curries and I felt very adventurous eating them. My parents would not touch them and only ate meat and 2 veg (one always potatoes) for their dinner. [b'>Me too, I was so cultured with my Vesta curries LOL. My parents only ate bland English food as well.[/b'> Me and my friend played elastics but used the legs of Mums good chairs in the dining room! I used to have a FP till and play shop, this entailed taking everything out of the cupboards and selling it to my Brother and Sister I had one of the portable record players and you had to set it to the right speed or it sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks, if i remember rightly it was an orange one I had a silver cross brown double pram for my dolls, an amazing homemade dolls house and a homemade wooden rocking horse which my Mum gave away and most probably would of been worth a fortune now The first portable TV my Brother got was in black and white and you had to use a coat hanger for the ariel... The good old days... :-) We also used to spend hours out on the street with all the kids playing together - skipping, skating and playing with two small rubber balls (you'd have to go through a whole routine, while singing, of bouncing them against the wall, throwing them up in the air etc). No such thing as play dates. [b'>I used to play double balls as well, could do tricks with those balls, through legs, over and underarm on the walls.[/b'> edited by A Rancher on 22/04/2012 Does anyone remember those clacker things, two hard balls on a string that used to bruise your hands as you swung them together?. Oh and those ball on the end of a loop that you used to jump over. I remember Twinkle and Jackie comics, and looked forward to the little freebies inside them.

What amazed me was that the 3 judges had such a go at the Amercian viewers for voting Jessica off.The basis of the programme is that the public get to decide who gets voted off, not the judges. These judges seem to forget that it is the public who will buy the records go to the concerts etc. They are a talented bunch this year, my favorites are Phillip Phillips and Skyler. edited by Nomad on 20/04/2012 YAY mine too :-)

It was part of the Stanley Hotel where we had our wedding reception. Have friends in Willaston and one of my oldest friends from school lived in Bromborough so know that quite well too.
