Thanks for the info, we had Stuart (www.poolfence.eu.com) and his guys drop by for a quote...very nice people who were extremely helpful and even offered a solution that saved us money (even though it probaly cost them more work!) We also had quotes from a guy called Ken at babysecur..quite standoffish and not as cheap as Stuart for what appears to be an inferior product.
All safe now so happy to let kids enjoy the garden whilst they still can.
