I also bought 3 pairs from mirdif city centre and got me 2 sizes down. I look so good in them like I've lost a lot of weight. They are so comfy and fit like a glove. I'm really happy.

Hi, and welcome to the UAE :) If you get the Metro to Noor Islamic Bank metro, Safa2 Park is a lovely little park which is not too far away! Street 8A. I love this park more than the bigger Safa Park. edited by LuLee on 27/11/2012

Does anyone know what's going on in Jum-3 on Beach road? It's where many people feed the birds. There's this huge stage with seating, loud music.

I was in Satwa this morning and they have everything. I got my 2 year old son a t-shirt with UAE flag colors for 25aed. I got my 4 year old daughter a shirt dress with UAE flag colors for 30aed. She can wear that with leggings. Regular flags and flags for cars 5aed. Sock mirrors 15aed. Hair clips with UAE colors 5aed. They have head bands, ties, hats, bracelets. Everything you can think of they have it. Just drive down Satwa street, they have them hanging outside.

I was reading some of the reviews on the Pajero here. Many said it's "sluggish" the acceleration isn't good, drinks up too much fuel, road noise is noisy. Thanks everyone for your opinions. Its a SUV so it will be thirstier, and noisier, and harder to control on bends than a crossover Fuel costs will be noticeably higher than a Corolla, but the difference with the CX9 may be 30 dhs a month edited by Arch on 26/11/2012 Thank you Arch, you've been very helpful :)

My last three cars have been Pajeros so obviously I love them. When I got my last Pajero, like you I had 3 children under 5. It was fine when they were that age but they are now 2, 4 and 6 and we've outgrown it a bit. With the older two at school and sharing school runs I often have 4 (or more) children in the car and I don't find the back seats particularly practical. With 3 car seats in the back seat you can't get access to the boot from the side doors so you need to climb in the boot for access to the back row of seats. I find it a bit awkward, especially as I'm pregnant. It depends though, if you don't think you will be using the back row of seats very much then I'd say the Pajero is great. I've never had any problems with mine, I recently sold the one I had for when I was back in my home country - it had been going strong for about 20 years. I tried putting the third row back in and take it out, there's too many steps involved for my small brain lol. The salesman did make it look so easy, but it took me a while.

I've never found any of those things an issue. Think you'd need to drive one to decide for yourself. You're right. I'll be going later on today. Will keep those in mind when driving it.

Yes I will take the Pajero for a test drive. I was there yesterday in the evening and I wasn't able to take it for a ride. Hopefully DH will come home early from work so I can do that.

Honda Pilot, Odyssery, CRV are over AED 100,000. I would look into the Hyundai or KIA.

May be a silly question, but when you're at the showrooms is it a fixed price? I know they add things like free insurance for one year, add in window protection..just wondering about the price.

We just got a Traverse last month. We chose it over some of the others mentioned here because of space. Even with the 3rd row up, there is still a lot of trunk space. My husband is tall and fits in the 3rd row quite comfortably. Yes, it has AC vents at the back. We got ours for 108K. It is the basic model and the price includes the rear camera, side sensors, dvd player. I think without those, it was around 104K or thereabouts. edited by mumto2 on 21/11/2012 That's strange. I called to ask for a quote. She told me basic 130k and mid is 161k. Are the prices lower when you go into the showrooms? Can you negotiate? Can you tell which showroom you went to?

Festival City and the exact price was 132k I'm assuming this is for the 5 seater. It's going to be a tough decision. I really want to make the right chose for my family.

The basic Prado is 130k Can you tell me who gave you that quote? Which showroom? My budget was 100k but it seems like we'll be stretching it just a bit if I want any of the below. I would say 140k.

Now the Ford Explorer is on the list lol. It's around the same price range as the Mazda CX9. Thanks for replying on AC vents in the back. That's a big plus. Does the Ford Explorer or the Chevy Traverse have AC vents in the 2nd row? It's going to be a busy weekend at the showrooms.

I didn't realize the Toyoto Prado is around the same price range as the Mazda CX9. We won't be needing it for off roading, so I'm not sure if I should look into it. Aargh so hard to choose.

Anouja I was just going to ask if we should go to Alexandria or Sharm El Sheikh. I don't think we'll have time to do both but looking at those pictures Alexandria looks beautiful. I think it'll be too cold for the kiddos to swim so I think Alexandria might be a better option for us?

Thank you so much Beebers. My family and I are used to crowded markets so Khan Khalili is on the list lol. I've noted down the shop and number as well. It seems that the Luxor/Aswan Cruise is a must. I'm wondering if it's safe for the little ones. I'm still doing some more research but will come back with my itinerary and hopefully some of you can give me more advise.

Thank you so much Mohandissa, I feel much better. I'm getting excited now. Doing some research now. If anyone has any recommendations on best places to go, sites to see, hotels to stay feel free to add here please. I'm planning this trip for 10 days. Is that enough to do the main tourist attractions? I have 3 children.

Al Hamriya Shopping Centre is in Deira. If you want a little closer, you can go to a salon on Jumeirah Road or Al Wasl Road. Many of the salons have a henna artist or two. There is a salon on Jumeirah Beach Road called Rachna. They can try there. They can look through sample pictures of different designs and choose from them.

5'10"? Mash'Allah If you find a design you like, make sure you open the package and put the dress against you and see if it's a good length. Usually the ones you have to get tailored are extra long anyway. I think for you it will be a perfect fit. I love shopping for jalabeyat. They are so beautiful and colorful. I love the detailed embroidery on the chest and wrist.

Marroosh I get all of mine from Souk Naif (2 floor story building near Naif Police Station). They have ready made and fabric with the embroidery and then get it tailored. There are so many styles/prices to choose from. If that's too far for you, there's a shop I go to called Sheikha it's in Jum-2 near Mazaya Centre. They have beautiful jalabeyat and he can tailor them for you as well. Let me know if you're interested in this shop, I can get you the exact directions. Perfect! I don't mind going to Souq Naif, there's a guy there that makes abayas for me:) I am off the whole week next week so plenty of time! What's the name of the tailor? And do you wear the Emirati style jalabeyas? edited by Marroosh on 24/10/2012 I don't know any tailors in Souk Naif tbh. I usually buy my jalabeyat from the Naif Souk (it's not the souk al wasl flower33 is talking about) and get it tailored at the Sheikha store near the Mazaya Centre. It's a fairly new building built in place of the old one which was burned down-behind Naif police station. You'll find so many stalls of jalabayet (ground flour) and you must bargain. And yes I wear the regular Emirati style jalabeyat at home sometimes and fancy ones for going out (under abaya) to a house party or for a special occasion.

You can find it in the Union Coop. It was kind of hidden in the oil section on bottom shelf. It comes in a large tin, green color. The brand is C.B.C pure white coconut oil. Ingredients: Pure coconut oil. It was solid when I opened it I'm pretty sure it's less than 20 dirhams for 680 grams/745ml.

Ah my life. Last year I worked but at the nursery my boys went to, came home cleaned up and then started dinner. They are 4 and 2, one on the way. My list consists of cleaning, grocery shopping, school runs, cooking, laundry, bath time, bedtime routine, homework if any, trying to fit in play groups for the youngest. I haven't cut or coloured my hair in over four months, alone time is getting a shower, I even keep forgetting to book my dr appointment the last two weeks. The hubby needs a good kick in the you know what when he comes home to say ' we're having that?!?' Or 'what did you do today?' Mine are 4.8, 2.7, and youngest is almost 1. My list is exactly like yours. Last week I went in for a facial and even though it was only an hour, it was the most relaxing night I had ever had in a long time. I told myself I'm going to go every month to get a facial and a massage. Before I left the salon, I already booked my next appt so I have something to look forward to. So I'm really excited about that. For years it's always been about the kids and DH that I totally forgot about myself. But now I must do something for myself to keep sane and be more happy.

Where is that store AL KABAYAL exactly ? I'm not good with directions. If you know where Hamarain Centre is, Al Kabayel is opposite the centre. You get onto Maktoum Bridge and follow Abu Hail (green sign).. Once you come out of the tunnel, get into the right lane. After the first traffic light, you'll see it on your right side. Find the first available parking or just wait for someone to get out. There aren't many parking spots.
