Hi IS84, First a disclaimer , I'm by no means an expert in giving financial advice. Villas and flats here were crazy expensive, but rents are dropping as quite a few expats are leaving Doha due to layoffs in the oil industry/ budget cuts in the public sector. You can search the site propertyfinder.qa for flats and it'll also give you an idea of what you can get for your budget. Dividing up villas here is illegal ( I think!) I would advise you to rent an unfurnished villa and if you don't mind secondhand furniture , you can actually find some good pieces of furniture with folk leaving. My husband is vegetarian and we manage to find decent options for him. I don't think there are any vegan/ vegetarian only dining options but I hear there's one scheduled to open up later this year. Hope that helps and good luck.

Hi myles1 , Tbh I haven't seen a lawnmower for sale anywhere (probably because I haven't been on the look out for one ha ha! ) Perhaps the shops at Barwa village might have one as they usually sell electronics/ garden equipment. You could also ask at a garden centre. I'll keep an eye out and if I see one anywhere will let you know.

Hello I just logged in today because I had a query too, so this might be too late for you. The assessments are usually informal. I think they are looking for how well your child interacts with others and can communicate. Good luck with that! I hope your little one gets in.

Try searching online with propertyfinder.qa or mubwab. I'm searching for a place as well in the A Markhiya area. I just put in Villas for rent in Al Markhiya Doha using the Google search button and sites come up. Good luck with your search. Mine has been daunting.

Hello Sveta, Finding a school for a child here is definitely one of the biggest hurdles in Doha. Kagi has given really good advice on the schools below. I would suggest you apply to all the schools below. You can do that online. You can also write to the schools asking for more information. They usually respond with information on wait lists. The English Kindergarten in Al Maamoura is a very good option if you can't get your little one into any of the schools. Good luck! :)

I saw some Aveeno products at the Spinneys at the Mall Al Hilal a while back. Not sure if they still have stock though.

Hello Ladies! I need some advice please. My DH and I have had no success finding a nanny who is already in Doha, so we have decided to continue our search for one through an agency. The agency has sent us a couple of CV's, but I'm finding it hard to make a decision. I guess its a little difficult when you cannot actually meet the nannies. Has anyone had to hire using an agency? Can you please let me know your experience and what criteria you used to make your decision? I'm not sure if I should get an older lady or a younger nanny, married , unmarried, with children, without children etc. I know there's probably no foolproof plan or procedure and it will all come down to the individual at the end of the day, but any experiences you are willing to share might help because at the moment, I'm confused.com!! :( Thanks in advance. P.S I am in my early 30's and have a 3 year old.
