Have you gone to a GP? I suddenly developed psoriasis when i turned 30, I only recognized it as my brother has had it since he was born. When I looked it up apparently its quiet common for people to get it in their late 20's early 30's. Anyway my GP prescribed some antibiotic cream, which helps. It does come back when I am stressed, I also have rosacea, which makes me quiet red without an exertion. If you talk to a good gp they should be able point you in the right direction, you might just need a dermatologist. Good luck x

http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202631 click none in the payment options when you go into your account setting in iTunes, then set up a click and buy account. I can use the Irish store with my UAE credit card. I don't have apple tv but I would think it would work the same?

Don't think its outside of regulations? I use a click and buy account to use the Irish iTunes store and it uses my UAE credit card. Had for a few years and had no issues.

Hello & welcome! I can't say I felt homesick after three weeks but I did find it hard to settle here. For me it was about finding my 'niche' in Dubai outside of work, making friends, hobbies etc. There is a club/facebook group for almost everything. I found it hard after a year when it hit that we were staying and that I needed to actually put down roots for the foreseeable future. It can be a bit clique-y but again just give it time, they are usually nice people. Once I actually started living here and not 'at home' in my head, (as in thinking about home, what's going on there etc.,) it all got a lot easier. Good luck x

If you can at least be civil to her to begin with and make up on your own mind about her. She may have been awful but you don't know what this guy has been telling her about his wife. Many sides to all stories. As long as your friend isn't putting you in the middle try not to put yourself there. You don't have to be friends with the new woman.

The prices vary anything from 400-600 per month but its an up front payment from 3-18 months. Some credit cards break it up interest free over 12 months. I wouldn't recommend them. There are better cheaper options. edited by mannikat on 01/02/2015

There is also an exhibit with all the plans for the island. The cafe serves amazing food and its licensed. You can see where they are building the Louvre its quiet impressive

Its not really for consumers but the Gulf Food fair will be on in a few weeks and if you can get in, there will be lots of exhibitors and you could find out where in Dubai they sell their produce, I'm sure their will be some organic producers. I know there is little or no Irish Beef here but generally its all grass fed although not organic. Live exports from Ireland/UK stopped due to the BSE crisis among other things and I know it has not been restarted even though many of the bans have been lifted. Generally its because they can't get the prices they would need to sell in this market (production costs & halal certification is expensive in Ireland anyway).

I didn't see the program your referring to, but people should know if they are eating halal/kosher meat. Here I know its all Halal, at home I expect it to be labelled if its Halal/Kosher as opposed to the other way around, People have a right to know and make an informed decision. Not everyone that doesn't want to eat Halal meat is an uneducated nitwit that thinks their meat has been spiked! [b'>I would prefer not to eat Halal meat but I have no choice here and I fully accept that[/b'>. At home I have a right not to. [b'>Thankfully back home I've seen my dinner raised from the field all the way to the fork[/b'>. edited by mannikat on 19/01/2015 I honestly don't see what the big deal is between the 2 for non-muslims. The animals are raised the same... just slaughterd differently. Having witnessed both types of slaughter I can assure there is a very big difference. Not to mention what it does to the quality of the meat. Also I'm sure they are non religious people that would prefer to eat meat that hasn't had a blessing. I am not judging just saying. edited by mannikat on 19/01/2015 edited by mannikat on 19/01/2015

Emma I know you didn't say that I'm sure you don't think it. It would be nice for all concerned if programs like that were actually balanced and didn't represent Non-Muslims as morons and Muslims as trying to poison the rest of us. Oh to live in such world :) All I'm saying is while they may have been idiots it doesn't take away from the fact the meat should have been labelled although in saying that its quiet possible that it was and they simple didn't understand. As usual education is key!

Not sure how much you are expecting to make on it. You get 40% of whatever they sell it for. Or least that's what it was about a year ago. Worth calling them to see if they can actually take your stuff awhile ago the were full and not taking any new stock.

My husband and I have been to SensAsia both on the Palm and at Emirates Golf Club -- you could have a drink outside afterward probably in either place. Genie -- the reason that some couples go for massage together is that it's the only (legal) way in the UAE for a man to have a female massage therapist and some men (my husband included) aren't comfortable with another man providing the massage, so it's a preferred option for them/him. DH always has a female massage therapist at Feet Lounge in Biz Bay, i think they are all female there? Very reasonable prices. Not suitable for the OP, as not in a hotel and the male and female areas are completely separate etc....

Spectrum are good but pricey and the staff can be a bit hit and miss. As in not overly friendly if you aren't printing a lot and they only seem to accept pdf files. I use desco and they are very good for what I need but i am not sure about high end cards etc.... some branches are open 24hrs which is very handy.

While we're on the subject - the word "organic", in relation to food, is purely a marketing term. It has no scientific basis. And if you think that buying organic food means that you're avoiding pesticides and other stuff like that - nope. Wish i could like this more! Organic splashed all over things does my head in! Amazing marketing, complete rubbish in reality!

If you can go for a weekday a whole new world of venues and I'm sure prices will open up to you. We got engaged at Christmas (3yrs ago eck...) and got married the following August on a Thurs, meant we could have it the same year and we could afford a fab venue that would have been out of our price range otherwise. General advise pick a great bridesmaid and delegate! My go to for inspiration is always etsy. Enjoy it, it can actually be really fun with the right people helping (spoken by someone that dreaded the whole idea of a wedding)! x

Perfume is classed as a dangerous good (flammable chemical), hence its difficult to get it delivered, many postal services won't accept it for international post. Shampoo etc... would be fine.

How long have you been here? Recruitment is very very slow here unfortunately. If your husband has senior experience I'm sure he will get something in time, this is a good time of year as most companies will be planning their manpower for the year around now. If he hasn't already, start looking up executive search and headhunting companies rather than just recruiters, he may find more senior and more suitable roles advertised with those type of companies. It took my OH 8 months to get a decent role when we first moved I know it's disheartening but the right think will turn up. Good luck!

This is terrible. His money has to be somewhere, if the account is closed it must have been withdrawn and placed else where. Its not possible to close an account that has money in it. Even here. So its resting in someones account or a cheque is sitting somewhere. Its possibly too late at this stage but I would get them to open a new account and make them apply a small interest free over draft. He probably would need a bunch of current docs from his work(salary slips/salary cert etc.) but I'm sure they would oblige considering the circumstances. A closed account cannot be reopened. However if it has just been frozen some pressure on the central bank should get it reopened, HSBC should be on the phone to them explaining the urgency and how it was their error etc...

If you are buying online check out jadopado.com Enjoy! I like them, but can't seem to order from them with their silly payment system! Annoyingly! Is it the credit card approval? its not as complicated as they make it out to be, i chose the seeing a payment on my statement, and got the number from my online banking instantly so it was fine. I don't know why they do it that way though! You need the internet for MS office set up as its just a code in the box, handy if the guys in the shop will do it for you.

This is the hardest part of being away... what your friend said was thoughtless but I'm sure she meant that if you can afford it you might regret not going. From what you've said money isn't really the issue, you are doing the best you can in a hard situation. Your ill friend knows this, grief makes people say silly things and perhaps your other friend would like to have you there for support. Its terrible timing and she must know with kids you can't be away for Christmas. You know your own options I think you need to decide and make peace with your decision its hard enough to lose a friend without punishing yourself for things outside of your control. I know in my faith we have a months mind after a person passes, even if this isn't something you normally do, perhaps you could go home in a month spend time with your group of friends and say good-bye talk about old times and celebrate her life and your friendship? Sending love and prayers to you and your friend xx edited by mannikat on 15/12/2014

Its about 800aed for MS Office for Mac. I have it and its more or less the same, i mostly use photoshop and have an external hard drive for storage mine is an air so the storage is small. I love having a light laptop for travel. I just find my mac is so reliable, its more to fork out to begin with but i think its genuinely better value in the long run. It is a change but once you get into it its not that big of a difference. i think the lenovo's are supposed to be pretty good from a pc perspective.

I don't think you'll find anyone from the UK working as an optician here, in the mall opticians anyway, the salaries are quiet low. If you want someone UK trained I think you would need to go to Moorefields. I get mine checked back home so I can't recommend anyone sorry.

I lived in Business until recently I would recommend it, Executive Towers is lovely now all the amenities are finished, plus the apartments are huge. Its definitely not dead especially at the spinneys side all the restaurants are busy most nights and it looks like they have started work on finishing the hotel. You have great access to down town and only 20mins from the airport. edited by mannikat on 20/11/2014

Honestly I think you get what you pay for, even if it seems expensive up front. I use mine mainly for photoshop etc... and also have ms office and i have had no issues. Even though its two years old it doesn't feel out dated nor has it it given me any trouble, unlike my work toshiba of which i am on my third in four years and on which I only use office programs.

Sorry I can't help much, my feet are size 42 and I have a lot of trouble getting shoes here. I have given up on the malls in general, hearing 'you have giant man feet mam is not fun'. You can sometimes get a proper uk 8/ euro42 in marks & spencers (not liking their current stock of flats). Otherwise I try the spring/aldo shop in the outlet mall, they stock sizes that they never seem to have in the mall branches. Re pants generally next, m&s and principles. All way more expensive here than back home, generally I stock up on trousers at home. I buy dresses and tops on asos.
