My son had an Umbilical Hernia since he was 3 weeks old. Back home, they told me that it is better to wait until he is 5 or 6 year old to do the surgery. I had it removed in Abu Dhabi when he was 6 and everything went great. It was a 15-20 minutes surgery and they kept him for the day to make sure he was all right. He had antibiotics (7 days) to ensure that his belly button doesn’t get infected and was not allowed to do physical effort for about 3 weeks. Total cost 15,000 AED. I work from 6:30 to 17:00. One hour drive to go and one hour to come back. I generally reach home around 6:30 and cook for my family while my husband takes care of DS homework. Have to rush to put meal on time as DS normally sleeps at 8:00…...than …. Lunch box for the next day, shower…. No time to chat nor relax as I have to go to sleep for the next day which starts at 4:30… OUF!!!

Canadian Embassy have notary services and it is very easy to have document stamped on the spot. I travelled to Canada with my kids (alone) and never faced this kind of issues as of now, never been asked such letter to enter or exit the country. HTH
