I dont think QQ is anything like Venice....not even remotely...for a start the colours are totally different, the water on the QQ is pure blue, with nothing floating in it and it doesnt smell......
It may be an architects idea of what Venice would look like - but in reality its nothing like it - there are no over priced retail outlets.....there are no retails outlets open at the moment, it may be different when it is fully let.
We moved there becasue we like the low rise living, and we have a stunning view of the new Kemplinski Marsa Malaz and the Gulf......you dont have that in Venice...

I live in the QQ as well....I don't know anyone else and I don't have a baby...LOL?... but I have had three children who are grown up....I am flying to the UK a tonight and I will be back at New Year, I move out in March full time.....

I kinda know what you are going through. My fiancé has been here for a year - we are marrying at Christmas and I will move here in March. I have been out 6 times now but I guess living here is totally different.
My children are grown up - so I do worry about where I will network to find like minded expats. I have joined a few FB groups.
Does anyone have any ideas......I have thought about starting an afternoon tea circle......mainly for the cakes.....:-))
