How funny that we're all coming over around the 26th. I'm moving over from Northern Ireland with my 2 boys 3.5 and 10 months. Yes would be definitely nice to feel like I know folks before coming over. That's the letter o after the 2not the number 0. I think we've got sorted with somewhere in al gharrafa although nothing is signed yet so don't want to get my hopes up lol. Geni117 my hubby is actually in Beverly Hills tower in the west bay at the minute. If we don't get a house sorted I might be seeing you there lol x

Hi yve1612, I don't have any advice sorry, as I'm in the same boat as you. Just wanted to say hey and hope all goes well with the move, only a week now right? I'm moving out on the 26th, dead excited, also very unorganised lol x

Thanks that would be great, my email address is [email protected] that's the letter o after the 2, not the number 0. I clearly was awkward as a teenager lol ? would be lovely to hear from you. Here's hoping we get it now and it hasn't already been snapped up. It's a2 year contract though, think we would have preferred to commit ourselves to a 1 year contract x

Mzee123 that's the compound it's on. How funny! Tell me this are there many families on it, and also, from the photos the pool area seems a bit bare, is there normally more seating etc around it? Do you happen to know if all the villas have the same size back yards or are some bigger than others? Sorry to bombard you with questions. I think this is the one we're going to go for so just want to ask x edited by Mum22boys on 07/08/2014

Thank you ladies for your reply, has put my mind at ease a bit. It's in gharrafa gardens, fully furnished villa. There are a couple of things I would prefer the compound to have for the kids, like a small shallow pool and a park, but I guess you can't have everything lol. My husband really only has until the weekend to find somewhere fully furnished around the 14k Mark, if you guys know of anywhere else would be great to take a look x

Evening ladies, I'm just packing the bags for shipping and just wanted to check what type of clothing and footwear to bring out for the kids? I have 2boys aged 8 months and 3 years. I'm just assuming kids will wear shorts and t shirts but please correct me if I'm wrong. What about footwear, are trainers too warm? Are sandals a better choice? Just don't want to bring stuff out that is going to be unsuitable. We're coming from Northern Ireland where it's generally wet and cool so the weather will be a big change for us :) Thanks

No no school place for the wee man, didn't see the point in applying when we'd no idea where we would be living. I happy to live away from the west bay and pearl as long as the commute to work is crazy crazy for my hubby. So you reckon ship everything, we get a relocation allowance that will pretty much cover it, we'll just need to buy a few pieces of furniture when we get out there.

Evening ladies, Just looking a wee bit of advice from those who have been there. I don't think there is a right and wrong answer but wouldn't mind some opinions. We are moving out this summer and had planned on shipping out some furniture, kids toys, car seats for the kids. At present we plan to rent an unfurnished place mainly because if the furniture gets wrecked by kids it's our own furniture and not someone else's. What have you guys done, shipped stuff out/rented furnished place/bought stuff once out there and what advice would you give regarding each. My husband's office will be in the town centre commercial centre and we have been told to consider west bay/pearl for apartment accommodation. However from a wee bit if research I wasn't too sure that these areas are geared for families, we've 2 boys aged 8months and 3 years. Are there many schools in these areas? Ideally I would prefer a villa but I understand that waiting lists can be long. Any advice in General would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Oh that's great to hear! Can't beat a wee *** and the city night every now and again so good to know I won't have to go without lol. And I right in saying that you have to list what DVDs you're bringing into the country along with a brief synopsis of each one?xx

Hi ladies, Might seem like a trivial question but just wondering a rough cost for a full head of foils out in Qatar? Weighing up the decision to go au natural again but I just love being blonde lol. Ta x
