A psychologist is a trained professional that can help you address these issues. I'm not saying that your suggestions can't be helpful but I don't agree with you that a psychologist won't be able to help.

I don't agree with Natalie8. Most overweight people eat for emotional reasons (as you have said you know what to do, so it's not ignorance about food) and often a psychologist can help you resolve these issues. Equally sometimes a life coach can help as well. You need to be honest with yourself and decide weather it's just small reasons that a life coach could help you with or if there might be something deeper that a psychologist could help you with. You also need to find out if you are truly ready to loose the weight, maybe you're not quite ready to shed it. Something that can also be very helpful is finding a support group. Weight-watchers, slimming club, overeaters annoymus, whatever works for you! Good luck!!!

This post has made me laugh! My friends Mum once held her upside down by her ankles over a stairwell and told her that if she didn't stop being a pain she would drop her. Friend looked up, smiled and said: No you won't. To this day still have great respect for Mum for not actually dropping her!

Wow this all sounds amazing! Maybe slightly off topic, but (as a non-fasting person), I was wondering how do you taste the food while cooking? Do you get your children to taste it, or are you allowed to taste as long as you don't swallow? ;) Sounds difficult to do! Would be very tempted to have a quick taste or nibble while cooking, but I guess if you don't then it could make you feel very strong. Lots of dishes that I haven't heard of before. Would it be possible to tell us what they are? Such as makluba and fatten bitandjan.

One of the EW ladies posted this website once and I think it's great. Gives you all the info you need about seats, entertainment systems etc. Unfortunately it doesn't make flying more enjoyable :(

Have you thought of putting your work on a facebook page? Then people can look at your work from the comfort of their own home and if they are interested they can contact you and see them 'in the flesh'. Good luck!

We found that there is not much difference in price between the shops that sell appliances. DG Sharaf and E-max (in Oasis centre) have good selection and deliver as well.

Dragon Mart has lots of lighting shops and the quality/price isn't bad. It won't last for decades but you will get a good couple of years out of them. Just beware of going during the weekend as it can be a bit manic in there!

Chicken breast filled with sundried tomatoes, cream cheese, basil and garlic wrapped in parma ham if you wish. Am also planning to have little meatballs in tomato sause later on this week and a salad with avocado and scallops.

That's what I thought as well. It occurs more often in men (as they are more hairy). You might have to have an operation. DH had it done recently and feels much better. Usually with a Pylodonial cyst (or tail bone cyst) there is a tunnel and a pocket at the end of it. Apparently it's because two cells have never fused properly and your body starts encapsulating an ingrown hair resulting in a very painful cyst. Good luck! You may have a polynydal cist - Thats the common place for them and the only way to remove it is to have the area sorted. This is what I thought of when I read your post Sababy...my brother had this a few years ago...if I remember correctly the root of the problem was a very deep in- grown hair. He had to have surgery on it and it had to be drained and dressed everyday for a period but it did go away and has never returned. Sorry you're going through this..very distressing for you and no doubt painful.. Hope it gets sorted for you soon. Also, he was very stressed at the time it developed so there could be a link there.

Thanks Mishmash, nice to be reminded that I'm not alone in this battle of the flab! I'm not giving up loosing weight and will stick with low-carb just not with Dukan. I have several stone to go and know myself, if I'm finding it this hard and frustrating already I'm not going to keep it up. Rather then throwing the towel in the ring and gaining the weight I lost plus no doubt a bit more, I'm going to find something that is a bit easier to follow.

bbc.co.uk/food is very good and you can find different recipes for the same dish (ie scones) so you can pick one that suits your style. Another that I like is: http://chocolateandzucchini.com/ She is a French lady that writes about food in a great way. In terms of cookery books the Good House Keeping one is very good. It has lots of different recipes and they all work. Any Nigella books are great too I have them all, but think forever summer and express are really great. I love her and want to be her when I grow up ; ) Happy cooking!

Make sure it is an international name. I don't like the way my name is pronounced in English and much prefer the Dutch/French way. I also have an umlaut in my name which in the digital age is not very handy and I find I'm leaving it out more and more. I do like the meaning of it: Shiny like the sea. Just make a long list of names that you both like and keep trying them out.

I have to agree with you and also the constant supervision that children seem to be under today. I'm not saying you shouldn't be watchful as a parent but children need to be able to explore by themselves. When I was young there were strict rules about when to come home and where we could go and my Mum was never far away but we played outside by ourselves with all the children that lived in our street.

Lol Monkey Face! I agree. Cattle class can be truly dire sometimes. Apparently most planes supply less room per person to their economy class passengers then the slaves had on the slave ships... The snub nose thing is good news for me as it is another argument against my DH who wants to get a Pug.

Fell off the wagon a bit and climbing back on. Seriously thinking of changing over to another diet similar in style i.e. low carb, but more veggies everyday. I still have a book called India and Neris Idiot proof diet somewhere. Think I will re-read that and then decide. It the PP days that get to me and make me grumpy and hunting for forbidden foods... Also the other diet allows the occasional glass of wine! Am dreading the next couple of weeks when DH is away on business and I'll be all by myself. After that we're away on holiday which will not be easy either... :( Try to keep reminding me of my goal and looking at all the pretty clothes that I will hopefully be able to fit in soon!

We lived in South East London before we came here and rented a 3 bed townhouse for about 1200 GBP. It was in Lee (just outside of Blackheath) and right next to the train station. Took about 15 min to get to London Bridge station. I really like this area and if we were to move back we would look for a house closer to Blackheath/Greenwich. Loved walking up to Greenwich park on the weekend and taking the Thames clipper is still one of my favourite things to do. My friends daughter is in the local catholic school and it's lovely. There is also a great private school close by. I think that apart from transport and rent the UK is actually cheaper. Shopping and going out for dinner is much cheaper and being in London you have so much choice!

Why don't you try and find one in the City. If I remember correctly their rates during summer are less as they are usually used for business. We lived in several for two months and most of them were quite dire and very expensive, but they were chosen for us so there might be some very good ones out there. Make sure you are close to a tube station so it's easy to get around.

Wow, really? You don't think it will go away? It's in both breasts so I don't think it's cancer or a cyst and I don't feel any lumps or things like that. Will see the doctor if it doesn't go away in a few more days.

Please tell me there are other reasons for having sore breasts then being pregnant? For the past week or so my breasts are very sore and feel very heavy (more so then usual). Taking of my bra in the evening is very uncomfortable I've just had my period so fairly certain I'm not pregnant. Haven't changed my birth control or anything like that. I'm going to pick up a pregnancy test later today just to check... but was wondering if there are any other causes. Have any of you ladies experienced this?

I miss mine too! I have lovely friends here, but it's just not the same. I miss being around girl friends that know me so well that they just need to look at me to know how I'm doing. It takes time to build up relationships like that and although I see my friends here quite a bit it's not as informal as it used to be back home. Miss being able to pop round for a cup of tea or quick glass of vino whenever.

Thanks Ladies for the comments. Feel a little less angry (but not much ;)) Have decided that come **** or high water, she is paying for the cleaning costs. Will also take the moral high road (or should that be ground?) and make no comments about it to her. The estate agent will deal with the rest of it and all I'll need to do is transfer the remainder of the deposit to her although she doesn't deserve any of it back.

I am so angry! My tenant has vacated our property back home and she has left it in a complete state. It's empty sort of, but so dirty. My mum and a cleaning lady spent all day Monday cleaning and removing about two years worth of grime and grease. There is a lovely wooden floor in the lounge downstairs and I don't think it has been cleaned in the two years the tenant has been in the house. My parents put down some rugs and they're completely ruined but thankfully they've prevented the floor form getting seriously damaged. The downstairs toilet was so dirty that I could literally see the p*ss and sh*t marks on the pictures that the estate agent took. The worst is that the tenant is actually a family member, she is my Dad's sister and I feel she has been completely disrespectful. I am however weary of starting a family crisis as I know this will hurt my DD. I honestly don't understand why she has done this and feel she has done it on purpose to hurt me and my family. The cleaning costs will taken out of the deposit, but she's already let me know that she feels it was clean enough...

Thank you Ladies for this wealth of information! I'm looking at a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Have contacted some breeders and hope to find a puppy when we are out there in August. They don't have flat faces and are nice and small so the EK flight should not be a problem. Depending then on the puppy's age we will either be able to take her with us straight away of we'll have to wait until she is old enough. SSarah, did you go directly through a breeder or was your Scottie already your dog?

Personally I would go German for a washing machine and dishwasher. We bought a Miele washing machine and it is more expensive, but really great. We bought an LG dishwasher and I don't like it at all. Should have gone for the Bosch one that I picked out initially instead of letting the shop assistant talk my DH into getting the LG one with the promise of a free microwave which it still in the box after nearly 8 months! Fridge/freezer is Samsung and very happy with it.

I know that for some this is a touchy subject and I know there are many wonderful mixed breed dogs up for adoption, but my DH and I have decided to get a pure-bred. I have been in contact with a reputable breeder in SA and we will be going there in a couple of weeks and be able to pick out a puppy. I am wondering what the procedure is to get the puppy back here? It's a small breed dog so am I allowed to take it on board with me? What do I need to bring the dog into the UAE? TIA!

Make sure they don't see all your hand luggage when you check in. I usually have my handbag with me, but keep my little trolley out of sight if I know I'm going to have too much luggage. They will often also allow your laptop to be a separate item if you're carrying one of those. Good Luck!!!

I'm guessing a lot of people don't actually pay attention to the lyrics. I find the music in most shops extremely annoying and way too loud although saying that makes me sound like my Mum! 'If I wanted to go to a Disco then that's where I'd go. I'm here to buy clothes not dance and shake my a**' She once told a shop assistant back home with me standing next to her. I was a teenager at the time and horrified :\: Now I have to stop myself from saying the same!

I'm not sure if the humidity will play a role. I guess it will be a case of trying it out and seeing what happens. Will you wash the tomatoes after they have been dried to get rid of sand and dust? Those grill things, I think you can buy small ones at Daiso and larger ones probably at Lakeland. Good luck!

Best way is to wrap them in a damp tea towel and then in the fridge. They moisture from the cloth keeps the herbs fresh for longer. Make sure you keep the cloth damp.

I hate the non-descript magnolia/cream colour of our walls. Have some nice ideas and paint colours picked out, just need to find time/money/energy to do it. What could also work instead of artwork is cover panels in fabric or wall paper and hang those up. Not nearly as much work and it's cheap. You can also take it with you if you move again.

We're 2 ppl living in 3 bed villa in the Ranches, with a pool. We keep the temp at about 24/25 all the time. Don't shower for hours etc and turn off lights. Diced chicken breast Onion Courgette or marrow Capsicum Lemon Olive oil Garlic S&P Fry off the onion and garlic in a little oil. Turn up the heat and add the chicken. When brown add the veggies. When they are soft and warmed through finish off with some lemon zest, juice and S&P. Soups are great as well and cheap to make. Broccolli soup with a bit of blue cheese. Butternut and carrot. Tomato with any veggies that you have lying around and some lean mince.

It's not just DH's that snore... in this case it's me! There are a couple of things that have helped me/us. The first and most important is that we bought a different mattress. We now sleep om a Tempur one and it really has made me snore less. A second thing is not to have dairy in the evening. I know it sounds strange but apparently it increase the slime production and that can aggravate snoring. Then I have one of these little sprays. Not sure if it helps, but it placates my DH when I use it. The last is that we have a agreement that I mostly try and stay awake until my DH has fallen asleep. This works for us as he falls asleep within about 15 min and it normally takes me about 45 min anyway. Good luck!

Leen, if you have recently become a mother again and have such a full life I wouldn't worry too much about your weight. Just try to eat healthy food, but as much as you need/want. Be nice to yourself. You are doing an amazing job raising three children AND working full time! Give yourself and your body time to readjust and when you're a bit more settled focus on loosing some weight.
