Hello Moonbean, I read your note which made me very optimistic and positive. It seems that your situation matches with ours. We have a child (4 years old now) who has recently been diagnosed with having mild autism. Although our child's symptoms are very mild (which is why we never understood it till a few months back), we too have been advised to arrange speech and occupational therapy for him. I would like to speak to you personally if that is fine with you. My email is [email protected]. If it is alright with you, please drop in a line stating your cell or landline number and a preferred calling time and self shall call you. Thanks again for posting your experience which really is like a bright ray of hope in the darkest time of our life. NC.

Hi, Can anyone provide me some link or contact (in Dubai) where Occupational Therapy is provided for autistic children. My child is a 4 year old and at times he throws serious tantrums and it becomes difficult to manage him. On the whole he is a happy child and not at all aggressive/violent but if and when things are not the way he wants he becomes very irritated and upset. I have heard that Occupational Therapy helps in these cases. Would be grateful if anyone can share some insight in this matter or advise contacts of thrapists / clinics who can help. Thanks, NC.

Hi av1998, most training for ABA therapists is done 'on the job' you go with an ABA therapist to watch them work for a few sessions then you do some sessions with them present for a while and learn that way, there is no real training to do as each child is sooooo individual that each session is very different, I know that Reachout in Knowledge village do some parent workshops or you could contact them to ask how it could work for you and your children, good luck
