Ok I stand corrected. Cereal bars and cereal are the unhealthiest breakfasts. edited by AnonDubai on 08/01/2013 I'd put money on most mums making sure other meals throughout the day make up for a breakfast that might not be the greatest because of circumstances. ;) So agree.I put it down to a balance in life. When my DS's were little I had a friend who was a 'food policeman' (my boys name for her !!) her kids were NOT allowed much unless it was uber healthy. The first Birthday Party they hit the two of them gorged on everything they could fit in their mouths. Both got soooo ill and then came the sugar rush,we were literally pulling them down off of the walls. Please I am not having a go at those following healthy eating. Life is about balance and it is not always possible and a mums natural instinct is to make sure her child has had something in their tummy,It may not be ideal but there you go. My two grew up on powdered skim milk (nothing else available) brown bread , oats in the morning ,cereals were a treat as they were so expensive. Today both 30 + love a bowl of cereal ,full cream milk and white bread....but.....they have it in moderation combined with healthy eating. To be totally honest a slice of choclate cake in the morning is my dream breakfast;) don't eat it that often but I just LOOOOOVE it....then kick myself the rest of the day for having it in the house.:):)

I am not an avid fan but heard tonight that the season is back on. The whole saga boiled down to a fight between two camps on how to divvy up 3 Billion dollars per year.....The fans still have to pay full price for their season tickets even though they will only get a half season ??Wouldn't it be nice if the billionaires and multi millionaires gave something back to their fans......!

Hi Amely, Please be very thorough and cautious when re homing. There are a lot of chancers out there who would have you believe they are going to be giving the animal a loving home only to sell it on to someone at the animal market. They are two beautiful cats and will ellicit a lot of interest. If I were your friend I would insist on a home inspection and a substantial backround from the new family. Sorry I know it sounds OTT but there are some real scumbags out there. HTH

On one of our moves my youngest son ( shy and not at all like his older brother) was in such a state as he had changed countries and had moved up from primary level to High School. It was all so much bigger and he kept on getting lost. My oldest and I went to school the following day an hour before class and we walked around the school grounds getting him familiar.I know it won't help with the friends issue but he might feel a bit better knowing his way around.

I would say no.When I returned to Canada from DXB I was on a HRT that is readily availabe in the ME (otc) and Europe, but was not FDA approved or in Canada. Not matter what I tried I could not get it in, it is all to do with the approval issues that apparently takes years and a lot of wrangling between the pharmacutical companies. Her best bet is to go and see a doctor over there and get something that has the same composition as the one she is taking now. ETA I even had problems trying to get a Puritans Pride product brought into Canada from the US that was FDA approved but not approved in Canada. The order was sent but returned to the US at customs. edited by Nomad on 07/01/2013

Sorry to hear that things haven't improved HB. Regarding your 'friend' I wouldn't loose too much sleep.I found once I had lived abroad and tried to re connect with some of my long term friends,I had actually outgrown them. They had no concept of what it was like to live away from all family and friends for years on end. Some were so comfortable in their little bubble and we were worlds apart. The best is how they expected things to just kick back to exactly how things were before I left and how dare I not spend loads of time with them when I was home on 'vacation'. The TRUE friends that mattered are the ones who didn't give a hoot about me not being able to physically spend time with them. They always had time to listen to what I had to say before giving their opinions.....even if it was contrary to mine...we are still there for each other. I found this out when I went home to bury Mom....those that really cared rallied round even though we hadn't seen each other in many years. It is hard to move on and ditch all those years of 'friendship' but as the saying goes 'Friends come into your life for a reason,a season or a lifetime......' With regards the pink elephant,as someone said before give it some time before you start taking drastic action. There is no rewind button in this life. Hope 2013 will be a good year for you...I am so determined to make it the best one I can XXXX ETA Neamhi I would never have guessed you were Nobby ( loved that name why did you change it? ). edited by Nomad on 07/01/2013

Jetset hindsight is always 20/20.....You must not blame yourself ,accidents happen, that it why they are called accidents. You have done everything possible right now, as I said just keep her picture and name out there and follow up with your search when possible. I know that this is a very difficult time for you and your family but you must stop blaming yourself.14 years is a very long time but for your own sake and those around you talk about the good times ,the love and happiness she brought into your lives. Prayers and positive thoughts your way xxxx

Cotton wool it is...... My sons grew up in the ME in the 80's - 90's.Granted it was a very different place back then, doors open everyone knew everyone. On the weekends they would be gone until way after dark on some days and I would have to whistle from the roof to find them.I am sure they got up to some high jinks as teenagers but I always tried to instill a culture of safety and respect, for others and their property. Must admit that once they had grown up and told me a few of the 'jinks' they got up to I was surprised.......they did nothing bad but some of the pranks they played! As far as then going door to door trying to find 'bob a jobs' I always jumped in boots and all to help, this shows a sense of enterprise. My lot did paintings and displayed them on the fence trying to sell them to neighbours and passers by. They 'sold' a few but gave most away and were so chuffed by the whole thing. Nothing wrong with children trying to earn a few bob but times have changed and if were my two I would have been hovering in the backround as neighbourhoods are not as safe as they used to be(is this helicopter parenting?).

geez ladies. dont discount the Maritimes!!! lol..... Vancouver is lovely but so are the Maritimes.....I personally would pick Halifax and see Cape Breton, PEI, nfld New Bruswick......you will not find more down to earth people. Yes, B.C. has Mountains but...Nova Scotia has everything else lol... Having been to all Provinces in Canada extensively....i would still go for the Maritimes. (btw) I am from Ontario so not from either place lol.. This is on my bucket list SueB, personally find the bigger cities way too busy.

As many of the ladies know I lost my brother at the tender age of 21 to a drunk driver. All I ask is that everyone who is going to be drinking over the New Year PLEASE do so responsibly. If you drink and drive you have a murder weapon in your hands......end of. As far a check stops are concerned, the more the merrier.I am of the opinion that it should be broadly advertised as there is always the chance that if people know they are being watched they will take heed and make other arrangements. Drive safe out there and all the best for the New Year......

I got an appointment with my gynae tonight and she said to come off it straight away. Didn't realise exactly how bad it was affecting me until I sat there in tears in her office going through all the symptoms. Only contraception option is the copper coil or condoms due to the blood clotting issue. Nomad- if you don't mind me asking, are these your only options too? Yes they were, I had the coil until we had no 2 and then DH went for the snip as we only wanted 2.I have a very long family history of clotting so took it very seriously. Am now in my late 50's so going through menapause which was also a challenge to find HRT but that is a whole other story !! All the best and hope you can sort it out. edited by Nomad on 27/12/2012

Some really good adivice here TDB esp.from kiwiwhispers. When I had my babies ,years ago, they kept us in hospital for 10 days.Sounds an awfully long time but it was such a godsend as we were taught to BF, bath baby and visitors during visiting hours ONLY.You chose to have baby with you or in the nursery. Now it is all about costs and Med Ins only covers the bare minimum....... Personally I found it wonderful but now they try and get the new mum out ASAP. The first 7-10 days are the Baby Blues days and they do happen, for no reason at all you are so depessed and need assurance constantly. For the sake of your new family it is important that you concentrate on that family. If your 'friend' behaves like a spoiled child with no inkling of what a woman goes through with firstly childbirth AND a C section to boot, you seriously have to put this person on the back burner for now.As has been suggested get your husband to take control of your phone and be honest with people ,say NO it doesn't suite right now for visitors,if I need you I will call. I know it is so hard for the girls who don't have their Mom at hand to 'monitor' visits and pushy people but your DH will have to 'play' mom ;) for now . If you do not improve on the baby blues front within the next few days I would suggest that you do chat to your doctor as kiwi said their are tabs that are safe for BF. For some child birth is a doddle but for others it takes time to adjust, give yourself the gift of time. All the very best to you and your new family xxx

That's a lovely thing to do Nomad. Sad news is always worse this time of year. I'm not feeling 'Christmassy' either. [b'>Had the decorators in[/b'> for what seems like months, not well planned! So didn't even bother with a tree, it would have been in the way, my excuse anyway.... Watching Kirsty and Phil's Christmas admiring their tree instead Haha! In NZ 'having the decorators in' is a common term for having your period. I just read your post and was sitting her thinking 'oh no, poor woman, she really should see a gynae' then realised that no, you really do have decorators in! Think my brain is slightly addled from queuing for three hours to see Santa at Wafi. Hope the decorators are done soon and you have your house back :) edited by Daza on 23/12/2012 Oh Daza......thats priceless, thanks for the good laugh !

Consider a kennel, they do it all the time as many animals have to follow their owners at a later date. Possibly contact FF for suggestions on kennels who do this prior to exporting on your behalf.Just a thought phone Dubai Kennel and Cattery they always seem to be able to help. Hi Gorobattie:) The fact that you will be the primary caregiver and are going to be hands on while kids are interacting with kitty,is excellent. You also mention that they have interacted with cats before while visiting family which is a good indicator. I personally believe that it is important for children to grow up with animals. It teaches them to care for a living being and later on in life they learn responsibility by helping to care for the animals. Maybe this is just what you need at the moment,a little furry bundle to give you more unconditional love than you can handle !!! ;) If you are still hesitant about getting the kitty full time ,there is always the option of fostering it to see if it works out....I gaurentee you will fall hopelessy in love. As I said discuss all your concerns with FF they will lead you through the process. Good Luck edited by Nomad on 17/12/2012 edited by Nomad on 17/12/2012
