I've come across some people who have got married but refuse to pass on information like their makeup artist, photographer , where and how did they source out their wedding dress etc. I can't figure out the stuck up attitude ??? That's why had to chk on this forum as I've seen the ladies here are quite helpful. Still looking out for invitations, favours, florist, makeup artist , photographer. recommendations would be a big help.

Hi Ren, I have been looking for admin/finance job past 4months and no luck yet. You are not alone. There is people out there. I feel like mine is little complicated. I have masters in computer science(don't want to do programming). Born and studied in India later moved to US and became a citizen there. Now moved to Dubai . Here I am so confused that 1. Am I from India?(some jobs ask Indians) 2.Western? US? (looking Like Indian ) I used to get paid well back in US . Now I don't want 2k or3k. And most of the admin job they asking Arabic. Which I don't know yet. Everyday I apply at least 5jobs. But so far I got 1email from Abudabi. Which I don't want to drive there. I have 10+years exp in admin/finance/hr. Feel like this place is different. Too many applicants and the hiring people may read upto 100 and select someone. If we didn't hit the first 100 no luck. I think. I am new to Dubai. So I am still learning . One thing sure. Hard to get a job. edited by Usaind on 20/07/2012 Hi usaind ...my situation is almost similar..I've completed my schooling here. Can read n write arabic. Can only speak very basic Arabic though ! Completed my grad in ind, masters here with a uni in uk. All this adds up to nothing. It's just 2 categories now in admin field. Either Arabic speaking or westerner.. I don't fall in either... There are so many nationalities here and so many applicants. This is just a quick per screening process. Being in Hr I figure the dynamics of this. I only hope someone realizes my potential...

Hi Ren I have been looking for a similar job and it took me over 8 months of looking and applying until i got the right job. this was only because i got calls for jobs or companies i dont want to work at. but during this time i have got many calls and seen so many posts for Sec/PA and admin jobs. I think its your way of looking for a job and could be your CV. my advise to you is: 1) Get your CV written by someone with experience in this. 2) login to the websites below and apply : Bayt.com / Gulftalent.com / GNads4u / indeed.ae/ monstergulf.com. get the gulfnews appointments and you will find many recruitment agencies who have websites, login and apply to all of them.. Hi loranji I've applied in most of the recruitment websites. I get interview calls but , they hesitate to pay a minimum salary based on my experience and based on the last salary i was drawing. The companies set a standard of 5k or lower depending on your nationality which is a very racist mentality out here . I'm an Indian but I refuse to work for 2 or 3 k. I've got an MBA and also have a good command over English language though it's not my first language. Expatwoman has jobs but it lays emphasis on Westerners. I've applied so many times but never got called for an interview. I got my Cv done and rechecked by 3 professionals in Hr. I'f you check recruitment sites like Nadia, kershaw Leonard, Clarendon Parker, charter house etc. Lotsa vacancies but clearly says us / uk educated need apply. Very racist attitude! Ill however not give up ! I work an temp bais . I have an account on linkedin . Doing my best ! Also hoping lady luck knocks my door soon ! edited by Ren19 on 22/07/2012

However, I see it being mentioned in bold only Westerners need apply. I'm equally qualified and have over 8 years of experience.

Hi I just got married here in November. I had a great Scottish hairdresser who did an amazing job and a great make up artist. They were both a great price especially the make up artist who was the best I found and the cheapest. For the make up I paid 1300 I think for make up for myself and three bridesmaids. The make up artist was Russian and amazing. For the hair I paid 1000 for myself and 5 bridesmaids x let me know if you want the contact details and I can post my email x Hi...Would appreciate if you can email me the contact details also your pics to have a look at your makeup if you dont mind. edited by Ren19 on 19/07/2012 edited by Ren19 on 19/07/2012

Have you picked a venue? I have the old pricelists from several hotels on what they offer, and would be happy to pass them on. I can't help with flowers, as I decided against it, but I can recommend a brilliant photographer, who charged us 2000 dhs for video and photography (and the photos were amazing) and he was there from church to receptions end. I can also recommend an amazing makeup artist, who was a mac trainer for 10 years, wonderful and very reasonably priced, and a great cakemaker too. Let me know if I can help, I had a much smaller wedding than you, but I got a lot of pricing as I originally still wanted a ballroom :)
