Hi Eleonor! :D what happened with ur daughter is the opposite of what is happening with my son :D Good that u succeeded in matching the curricula & placing her in the appropriate grade..best of luck to her. can u send me the school name may be they can be flexible in our case. If u prefer not to mention the name, never mind at all..thanx

Hi Lalala, thanx for ur reply! actually i dont prefer that he skips a year because he will miss a lot..i'm not sure i can compensate him with this at home. I want to transfer him to another school as i'm not satisfied with the school educational and developmental opportunities, he deserves something better. I'll try contacting the SEC.

Dear Eleonor, thank you very much for your reply and for ur detailed elaboration. My son will be 9years 5 month at the start of the new academic year in Sep. 2015. So, as per the British system age group, he should be in grade 5. However, he's now in grade 3. We are coming from Egypt. He was enrolled in a school following an Egyptian system different from the British one. They didn't have this age issue back in Egypt. May be the root of this issue is the fact that he was born in April 2006 and in Sep.2009 he was only 3 years 5 months..i had the flexibility to wait until the following academic year starting in Sep. 2010 to enroll him in KG1 (preschool)..This is the cause of the gap. However, in Egypt it wasn't a problem at all. I think school management should consider differences between systems and provide some flexibility for expats. I'll try to meet the school principal. thanks once again
