The first shop that popped into my mind is a specialty tea shop in Dragon Mart near the "F" area which sells a good variety of Chinese teas.

Apologies in advance ladies, this really doesn't interest me either:) Does anyone have an estimate of tyre prices for Lexus is300 tyres, front and rear? My cheapest price so far is about AED4900 total, just wondering if this is the best price..This was quoted through a friend's contact at a petrol pump (tyres come from Al Futtaim) Many thanks in advance. If you want to replace them with the same Bridgestone brand, they cost about average 1000 Dhs each if I am not mistaken. But there are less expensive brands out there such as Yoko or Toyo for almost half the price. The tires threads can make a difference in terms of noise etc. Generally you get what you pay for. Dunlop Pro Shop has very reasonable price for Dubai. Also, call around the Emarat Fasttrack Tyre Express shops and bargain (each shop gives slightly different quote sometimes), they will usually give you a discount. Make sure to check on the manufacturing date on the new tires before buying that they are more recent. HTH :) Happy Driving! Love the IS300!

I'm using Refresh Liquigel lubricant eye drops (Allergan). The doctor here says these drops are fine. I'm also using another one at bedtime called Genteal gel (Novartis). Refresh Liquidgel is quite good, but it may not be working out for you as well as it should. Really depending on your specific cause, there are alternatives such as Restasis (prescription eye drops) or possibly punctal plugs to keep the tears on your eyes longer if your problem continue to persist. I hope you get it sorted out soon. :)

haha...that happened to me before. I am no scientist but it evaporated into thin air. The gas pressure within cause tiny imperfections possibly along the seams and the pull top and causing the liquid to evaporate over time. If you are really curious and have a pool, submerge the can (assuming it's still "intact") at the bottom of pool and wait for a few days to see if it fills up. :)

While in skywards.com, click on "earn & spend", and then "spending miles", then enter your departure airport and it will give you a list of the possibilities and the category of rewards with the miles you have. 15,000 would qualify for middle east destinations on a saver reward. HTH :)

Thanks Saharagypsyrose, Chocs01 and AnonDubai. I've always had dry eyes, but I never needed hydrating drops prior to surgery. I think I'm just frustrated with constantly having to put drops over the past 3 months.... and dry eyes seem to make my vision a bit blurred. Hi TT, your frustration is understandable as it not only affects your comfort but your vision as well. What type of drops are you using now? Did the doctor you saw here suggested something else? The main reason could be tear quality issue which leads to quick evaporation causing dryness and blurry vision.

Well, there is no definite time of use and everyone recovers at different rate. It generally depends on if you suffer from dryness prior to surgery, what type of drops you are using now, your age, and the environment you are in (ie humidity, AC, fan use etc). A detailed assessment of your lid margins, tear film quality in order to prescribe the correct treatment. Hope you feel better soon.

Called a restaurant initials B.E. at a hotel last Saturday..... Me: Hi, do you offer dinner buffet on Saturdays? B.E.: Uh....no, mam, we only have buffets on Thursday and Friday. Me: Oh, so no buffet on Saturday, only on Thursday and Friday? B.E.: Yes mam, Saturday only a la carte Me thinking "on the website, it said buffets on Mon, Tue, Thur, & Sat" Me: Ok. So only a la carte on Saturday and no buffet? B.E.: Uh...Mam, we have buffet on Saturday! Me: But you just said only a la carte on Saturday. B.E.: No mam, if today is Saturday, then we have buffet as well as a la carte *shoot me!*

As far as I know, skyward miles were never transferable. You could redeem the miles for tickets for anyone if you have enough miles in your account only. No pooling allowed :(

Sahara it is to do with the friday brunch having these special public holiday ones.... see below! Sorry, I did not know that the brunch is only on Fridays. I think communication may be an issue, if they had informed the OP of special events that will not accept the vouchers, then she would have asked the same question as you of when one could avail the voucher, instead of brushing her off by saying it's fully booked. If you bought today's deal (brunch at Mina A'Salam), it did say on the buy page that it is only valid on Fridays. If you had tried to reserve other than on a Friday, they should have just told you it's not valid instead of saying it's fully booked. I just don't bother with these deals anymore.....

Optrex eye drops may contain BAK which is a preservative which isn't so nice on eyes that are already dry. The single vials usually do not have preservatives, hence needs to be thrown out once you open them. Fish oil or flaxseed oil can help with tear quality. May be best to see an ophthalmologist as there are different causes for dry eyes. :)

If you don't mind not having the instant hot/cold features and want to save on electricity, you can get one of those ceramic water crock dispensers from C4 for 30Dhs or so (bought mine long ago, price may have changed) for the large 4-5 gallons bottles that you can leave on the counter. It's a lot cheaper and you can wash your dispenser if you ever feel the need. It is cost effective and environmentally "friendlier" :)

I washed them in a steel colander inside the sink and I doused them with salt and wash the heck out of them while pulling off any fat bits or tiny bone fragments. Can't imagine not washing them....eeewwww!

Hi RAS, If you are not having pain when wearing "sensible" shoes, then I suggest you consider the bunion surgery at a later date. I think most of us who wear high heels for a long period of time will get discomfort for one reason or another. But please be aware that having done the surgery may not necessarily give you a completely pain free experience while wearing high heels(of course everyone is different), but being on high heels after surgery (when you are able to, that is) MAY lead to a return of bunion down the road (to some extend), depending on your frequent use of heels and your original "deformity". I am sorry I don't have any doctor recommendations from Dubai. I was too scared to have it done here, so I flew to Singapore to get mine done; both feet! You can check out www.healthboards.com and there is a huge section on bunions with all kinds of scenarios both happy and sad. But you will learn a lot and by the time you really need it, you will be well informed. My biggest advice for you is never do it for aesthetic reasons, the risks can outweigh the benefits. Good luck finding your surgeon, sounds like this Dr. Chris came with sound recommendation. Let me know if you have specific questions about the surgery itself, I am happy to answer them. Good luck!

Hi, spay of water on the root 1/week, keep the orchid away from the direct sun. If you have some wine cork, cut them into small pieces, spread the cork under and on the root to keep the humidity for the orchid. Add fertilizer &/month. that's all you have to do. good luck :-) just in case only :-), if any of your orchid turn really bad don't throw them, just give it to me :-). Tia Tia, I have one that's lost all it's flowers. Flowered beautifully for 3 months. About to bin it even though it's heart wrenching. Would you be interested in it? If Paris6 is not, I would be interested to take it off your hand :)

Be careful - you might want to check with them that they are accepting the vouchers because is is no longer part of the Jumeirah group so the vouchers might be null and void and that would be a very expensive and embarrassing treat! they are now part of Meydan.... worth a call and if they say yes they take them I would ask for e main confirmation so you have it in writing.... Claire, thanks for the heads up! I have a group of 14 going there and would not be too happy to be paying full price!

It is a tough choice for me as well, as I have encountered similar situations like you. It depends on where and the circumstances. But I know when I probably won't stop. When I se the traffic behind me is coming fast (especially when it's going around the corner) or when the lane is wide enough for an impatient car to pass which can put the crossing pedestrians in danger. As an aside, what about the yellow/orange school buses? I had always been taught to stop when the "stop" sign sticks out, so I would stop and cars behind me start honking or overtake me! Completely flabbergasted! :\:

There are many and some will do the registration service on your behalf as well. Do a search on here and you will find plenty. Just need to call the insurance company and they will give you a quote over the phone. Keep in mind you can "bargain" as well. If it is a new car, re-registration is easy as testing is not required. It will probably take you 5-10 minutes to get it registered as there is a lady counter at the Tasjeel center in Al Barsha. I personally have AXA for many years and totally happy with them.

If you have a roundish face, try to pick a shape that is angular (avoid round frames all together), but with oval face (depends on how oval it is too), some roundish shape is ok. As for colors, I think number one thing to consider is what color do you want to see your environment in? And then see if looks good with your whole package. Yes, fashion may keep changing, but your face doesn't, so you need to find something that will suit your face best (shape first, then color) and that they feel comfortable on your face. Good luck with the search!

Not sure about the fish balls or eggs...wouldn't put it in there! NH also adds in tofu so ill add in tofu shrimp paste, laksa leave and galanga & lemongrass, but what does galanga mean n where can i buy it? For sure you can find galanga at Lulu's, they look kinda like ginger (but skinnier and yellowish) , and they are usually already packed, not loosely piled like gingers. Just ask the workers to point you to the right ones if you are not sure.

Am in Bur Dubai, the sunshine just makes the gray shroud of sands glow brighter and the wind makes my struggling bougainvillea dance uncontrollably on the balcony! I am just glad I am not outside :) We're down in the consulate area-it realy isn't that windy-must be sheltered perhaps? Perhaps, I am on a high rise by the Burjuman, and judging by my bougainvillea, they have been kow-towing to the winds non-stop :( It's a good thing they are flexible :)

Do both recipes taste good without sugar? :) Won't taste so great without sugar :(. My DH would definitely refuse to drink it without having it sweetened. What you can do is have a separate sugar syrup on the side like at restaurants and just add enough to bring out the taste. Another alternative is to use Agave nectar which is yummy and healthier! :)

There are two ways about this...one with tea and one without....but both have gingers for the kick With tea: Makes 4 drinks 3-6 stalks lemongrass, white parts only 1 small knob ginger, sliced 6 cups water 1/3 cup sugar, plus more to taste 2 cups brewed black tea With the blunt edge of a knife, bash the lemongrass stalks until lightly bruised, then thinly slice. Slice ginger knob. Add lemongrass and ginger to a medium-sized pot of water and bring water to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, then turn off heat. Stir in sugar. Let liquid sit in the pot, covered, for another 20 minutes. Strain lemongrass-ginger syrup. In glasses, stir together one-half lemongrass-ginger syrup with one-half brewed tea. Add ice and serve. Without tea and some serious lemongrass (even more if DH had his way): 12 stalks lemongrass – white parts only (about 6 inches) – smashed with back of knife, thinly sliced 1 cup of sugar 1-2 inch knob of peeled ginger, thinly sliced (amount depends on how spicy you want it) 1) Boil 2 liters water 2) Put in sliced lemongrass and ginger 3) Boil for 20 minutes o high heat 4) Add sugar 5) Continue to boil longer if want stronger flavor 6) Add into pitcher with ice Enjoy! :)

They might feel a bit more comfortable on the Karama side. Especially now with DSF going on, lots of people/visitors walking around and watching fireworks at 8:30pm every night. The Deira side is a bit creepier especially with two pretty girls, I am sure they will get a lot of curious as well as creepy stares. I personally wouldn't go to the Deira side at night even though I am long in the tooth, as I think they just like to stare, so it is an uncomfortable feeling!

Not sure if I can help you. The coals (looks compacted) that I bought for my frankincense light up easily with just regular short matches, of course they don't last long. So may be the kind you have last longer like real charcoal which requires actual fire to burn it longer, so having a ceramic top stove doesn't help :( Hopefully someone can help you sort this out.

vjdubai, just reading your post made me cry for my mom. My mom also passed away at the age of 55 unexpectedly shortly after I turned 13! We may all cope with the loss of our loved ones differently, and no one can really understand the extend of the pain you feel within but for those of us who had experienced it (and some who hadn't) can sympathize with your loss. When will it get easier? The pain will lessen with time, but that huge hole will always be there. To me, the passing of time meant that I can better control the welling of tears in my eyes more than yesteryear. The difference between you and me is that you probably have a lot more happy memories that you shared with your mom, so try to think of those when the sadness hits you. I had to grow up fast and tried to be emotionally independent, but not a day go by that I don't wonder what my life would be like if she had lived. How I miss her! GGP, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of both your parents. On top of that, you also have to take responsibilities of your younger siblings which doesn't leave much room for you to grieve on your own as you need to be strong for everyone. I hope they will cope better and that you will be able to deal with your own grief. Take good care of yourself!
