My DS studies in DAA...parents in DAA are happy with the move as DAA administration plans to retain most of the DAA teachers but most probably the assistant teachers in Gems Nations Academy will lose their jobs.

Hello Zoyee1, we too are happy with DAA. We moved our son to DAA 2 years back in elementary. He loves it here. In Elementary, they never leave any kid unattended, even in the playarea and cafeteria they always have some teacher around to monitor the children. In the last 2 years never heard of any bullying in elementary. Surely the facilities n the building do look a little dated as compared to the new schools around Dubai. But they are trying to upgrade the facilities. Education wise I am very happy here. In grade 5 they have separate teachers for English and maths, science and social studies. I would recommend a tour of both elementary and middle school and then you can decide accordingly. Good Luck.

Omg this post is really scary...and so real. I am now divorcing myself, thank God no children are involved so things are a bit easier. One piece of advice I'd like to offer to the ladies currently in marriage - be smart and if your husband currently is in good financial position, try your best to put money aside even if the relationship is great and peachy now...it can swing the other way very very fast. Have a golden rule: whatever cash/funds you receive always put at least 30% of it aside..in a place he knows nothing about. Do not let him completely take over financial matters, bills etc. Be involved in it too. Don't be lazy, stay in the loop. Whatever it is, always try to get valuable things under your name...this is easier done when your relationship is great. We've all seen this with men - one day they love you and another day...they love someone else. Sadly this is how they were made. So we are responsible for watching our own back ladies. Loved this reply. Get your finances a little stronger (by hook or by crook), then enter the battle. It's not possible your husband doesn't have any money stacked elsewhere. It costs a lot more to keep a girlfriend on the side.

You can also check GEMS Metropolitan school which is very close to Arabian Ranches and Motor City. DBSJP has a lovely campus and there are villas all around it. So DBSJP fits your requirement the best. It's a new school so there might be places for all your kids. DBS springs is an old well established school, so you will definitely not find places for all your kids. Also check Victory Heights Primary. Heard good reviews about that school plus the location of the school meets your requirement.

I totally get, how frustrated you must be feeling. My son started DAA last year. If accepted, they usually inform you within 24hrs. At this time of the year most "outstanding" rated schools are full, specially in the lower grades. But you should definitely try and meet the Registrar. It's worth a try and if you are willing then ask them to put your kids name on the waiting list and they will again call your kid for an assessment next year. They don't change extra for the retests.

Well my son was in another new school before DAA. What I have noticed is most schools, they have TA in kindergarten or till grade 1. In Elementary school theTAs are not to assist students with moving around the school instead they assist the students who require additional help with studies in the class. DAA is an old school so will get plenty of feed back on how they stand academically or in sports etc. The minus being is that their method of teaching is a bit traditional and more academically inclined. I feel every parent have their own perspective towards education. And they should go for a school they feel fits them and their kid better. Here in Dubai all American schools start their 3rd language from middle sclool. While British schools start the 3rd language program much earlier.

My son is in grade 4 in DAA. Very good school . Maximum 24 kids per class and have never had any complaints with the school. Till grade 5 they have 2 teachers per class which really helps academically. The downside is that the facilities and the campus looks a little old compared to the swanky new schools that are opening.

Try Center for Music & arts in Gold and Diamond Park, Al Quoz. They teach classical n jazz music and are one of the biggest music learning center in Dubai.
