There's probably a biggest/tallest/fastest/bluest record in there somewhere, typically Dubai.

That's what we had, light rain. Along with it blowing a hooley and grey skies it was just like home!

I think Waitrose and Spinneys is the same. I struggle with steak in a frying pan, the pan has to be pretty hot. We always BBQ for the best results (for us).

Not quite sure I would be listening too hard to the recommendations of a maid's siblings (regardless of nationality). To get their sister working in Dubai would, I'm sure, put more money in the family pot so they're hardly likely to tell the truth if their sister's a lazy, dirty, thieving waste of skin are they?

the thread was about a mother having doubt that her son and the maid are having something, kind of romance and she wanted to be sure before talking to her husband so she was looking for a nanny cam to put it at home. I really want to know what happened. The OP put a camera outside the son's room over a weekend and noticed son and maid go into his room a few times, once holding hands. Maid got booted and sent packing, son threw a massive teenage strop, maid then contacted to say she pregnant. Don't know what happened after that.

We bought a new bed today at the place on Um Sequiem road, right at interchange 4. They sell complete beds as well as just mattresses. They also sell for kids. They are taking part in DSF, too.

And from the same person. I wish she would pick one thread and bump it up. At least that way people could read the thread and decide if they have anything extra to add to it or not. It's like Groundhog Day.

Bleachers by John Grisham. It must have been the most boring book I have ever read. A close second for me was The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Offroad Zone leases 4x4s, as it also rund offroad driving courses etc then I imagine it's accepted that their vehicles will be used offroad - don't know website or contact details offhand, but sure google will turn it up Oh how bizarre, I can refer the OP to Offroad Zone's details in an earlier thread of hers I responded to on the same subject http://www.expatwoman.com/abudhabi/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=135926

Yes there is, the info you need is here: http://tinyurl.com/4co823j I think there's a limit of something like AED 300 per day. I had my maid transfer credit to me whilst I was overseas.

On a slightly separate but related note... does anyone what do they do to the chicken here? It's gross. Bought a 1.6kg bird at the organic supermarket at the weekend, it was delicious but it was AED 130! Finally is it possible to buy non-halal meat here at all (as I do not agree with the halal method)? Maybe I just ought to turn vegetarian whilst here.. I would assume it would be in the Pork section if it's available at all.

I'm convinced it's not a bug of any kind. My t-shirts all get it in the same place and I'm sure bugs won't go to any lengths trying to find the same place on each item of clothing to eat - they'd eat the exposed bit which would be top-front-middle of each t-shirt.

Don't tell me they are just on the bottom front of your cotton tee shirts? YES!!! I took part in the earlier discussion where an answer was never revealed. Since I have noticed these holes I have moved house twice (thought it could be snagging on joints in kitcehn worktops) and used 3 different washing machines - two top-loaders, 1 front-loader. I did also wonder if it could be my belt buckle. I'm so fed up with these holes as I have had so many t-shirts ruined.

That's shocking!! I bought loads from them last year and I knew I paid nowhere near 23 each so I checked. They're really reasonable for boxes and bubble wrap etc but do NOT use them to move you. That was a lesson learnt but us in the summer.
