We did it years ago at the car reg place (Tasjeel). I think I needed passport & visa copy and driving licence. I guess insurance too? I can't remember costs. The person whose name it is in now has to be there too and will also need passport/visa/licence I think. It was a while-you-wait thing and didn't take long at all This was 5 years ago so hopefully someone can update.

If it's part of the package. If it's not then they're under no obligation to pay it. As far as I know most companies do not pay their employee's DEWA bills.

DS was 5 last year and he was completely awestruck by it all. It was quite noisy, lots of lights and smoke during the transformations but nothing too scary.

My mom didn't censor, and I remember being confused and a little haunted by the things I read. Shirley Jackson's The Lottery gave me nightmares for months after I read it in my babysitter's homework book. Oh my god....I thought I was the only one! It still gives me nightmares! hahahah! It did the same thing to me............after someone cut and pasted it on EW.................the grammar, the clunking prose..........the derivative plot line............the horror, the horror of it all:\::\::\: I downloaded the book with that story in and gave up. I read the whole of the Lottery but I just didn't get the other stories.

I got mine from Fono. I got the Elite Super 100 plan for the iPhone. The 16GB is AED 2449 and the 32 GB is AED 2849. The plan includes 100 International minutes, 100 national minutes, 100 SMS (50 intl/50nat) and 1GB data. ETA Fono (and I assume Axiom etc) will charge the same as going to Du, and the contract paper they issue is Du paper. <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 26/01/2011</em>

Same as dxb.fairy. Note that the 100 texts is 50 national, 50 international. It took me a while to figure out why I was paying for loads of texts.

we get vitamin D from the sun. its absorbed via our skin. What did I say that implied I dont know what vitamin d is!!! Anyway, thanks! :) I think Izzy was pointing out that ladies who cover and show little or no skin, as is the case with many ladies in this region, often do not absorb the required amount of vitamin D.

Thanks for that, Sarky. It gives me a starting point. We're not in Dubai so I don't know if the ministries are as diligent. I just feel that DD is free-wheeling. she never seems to have any homework, she says she gets it all done in school while the other kids are in Islamic studies. I can't put my finger on it specifically but I just feel something's not right.

Ramadan will start when the crescent moon is sighted. This is expected to fall around 1st August this year. In 2011 it began around the 11th August; 2010 was around 22nd August and so on. It can be predicted when Ramadan will start but it is not fixed and will depend on the sighting of the moon.

The Islamic year is shorter than the Gregorian year so the dates change in the Gregorian calendar each year. Generally, the dates move forward by about 11 days each year, give or take a bit. for example, Ramadan this year will start about 11 days earlier than it did last year.

Free time? I get up usually around 5 or 6 and nurse my 3 month old twins (which takes longer than you might think). Then I drop my son (6) off at school in the morning. I come back and play with my daughter (nearly 2) for an hour or so. Feed my twins again. Feed my daughter. Then, I put my daughter down for a nap and usually go to the grocery store or shopping for whatever things we need or, if I'm lucky, spend time with the twins. When my daughter wakes up, we have about 30 minutes usually before we need to go pick up my son. So we play. And then, we pick up my son and take him to an activity, or sometimes he has a playdate. Then I feed the twins, make dinner and get everyone bathed and in jammies and off to bed. Then, I hop on EW and see who has started a fight :) :\: *hands guinness a medal* Bl**dy ****, you must be exhausted come bedtime!

I would doubt you've done any damage as eyes and nose are connected. If in doubt, go and see your GP and explain. I'm sure he/she has heard far worse and if it puts your mind at rest it's worth it.

If you fully trust her and want her to work then I would allow her access to the house while I am out. If you are unsure, or want to wait until you trust her then do not let her roam the house during the weekend when you are out.
