I have to add, a will is the last wishes of someone. To go against this is not right either. Now I am in a tizz and almost backtracking, as on one hand, It's horrible that your elder daughter is upset but on the other hand your MIL has a right to decide to whom her most sentimental things go to. I know exactly what you mean.

Over the past few weeks I've had many pages taking a ridiculous amount of time to load, if they load at all. I've done a speed test and even through the wireless network I'm getting close to the download speed I'm paying for. I'm using Yahoo! as my search engine because Google doesn't want to know, and many of the pages I'm trying to load have some Google connection. For example, sometimes EW pages are slow to load and the status says "connecting to google-analytics.com", something about "googleapis" or"connecting to ad.doubleclick.net" Can anybody help please?

"Solve" the heavy traffic problems??? How will diverting traffic to smaller roads clogging up the city everywhere BUT SZR solve the problem? It's ok to say "Use SZR as all the traffic will be elsewhere" but that's not a lot of sodding use if you can't even get to SZR because of the traffic. Another well-thought out strategy.

Shocking but has been waiting to happen in North Africa for a long time,Tunsia is the first of many countries in North Africa that could boil over. There are also countries in the Middle East where same could happen any day. Have you seen about Jordan also ? What's happening in Jordan?

they deliver.... thats the only way i do it i drove once with DH and some friends and felt very nervous. definitely not worth the high blood pressure cant remember the website, i'm sure if u google it'll come up minimum spend of 1500dhs, but if u have a group of u, its not that much and they sometimes give u a free bottle of something as a gesture just make sure u have a licence for your home. Centaurus. You have to be able to give the name (and email address?) of someone they've delivered to previously.

My DH's 87 year old grandmother is already sharing her jewellery out amongst all the females in the family; daughters, grand-daughters, grand-daughters in-law, great grand-daughters - all of them, regardless of whether they're related to her by blood or not. The 'step-females' in the family are getting treated the same as everybody else. It might be wise for the OP to find out if this is the tradition her MIL has followed to ascertain whether she's following tradition or being a cow.

It's not in a Barracuda employee's interest to tell you that any booze you buy from them can't be legally transported home LOL! Surely you all are not implying that the employee would mis-lead an un-suspecting person so they would come and purchase alcohol???? :D :D Noooooo! Probably as Anon says, they don't know but aren't going to give a whiff of doubt :)

If a child has frequent contact with their bio father and his family then yes, I would assume they would be in the will of their paternal family, but many children have no contact at all with their biological fathers/family at all. Many of these are living with another man assuming the role of their father, who treat him as a father and who gets treated as the father's child - no distinctions. In this case I think it would be very upsetting to go through life calling a man 'Dad', to have him act as your Dad only to find that [i'>his[/i'> parents think it's a title in name only. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 15/01/2011 Sd I completely understand that but just putting another slant to how this lady might be viewing this. I've been on my own frequently. From Mirdif it will take about 45 minutes. You do not need to show a licence, there is no limit (apart from your own funds) on how much you can buy, there is no 30% tax added at the till and the choice is fabulous. An as others have said, a Dubai licence will not cover you if you are caught in Sharjah (a poster called Sharjah police who confirmed this).

I'll tell you what's annoying....tried really hard to bargain something down at GV to 30 dhs.... but she wasn't having any of it and would only go down to 40. I walked away due to the principle of the matter, then wished I hadn't cos I really wanted it. So I made DH go back and get it (was too proud to go back myself)..... And she gave it to him for 30!!!!!! Skank! ROFL!! Take some consolation knowing that she didn't get the extra 10 out of you!

I'm not sure ifyou can get them in Dragonmart, or the quality of them if you can. We got ours through Huda Lighting, next door to Max Garage on Umm Sequim Road. They have some on display and order through The Ceiling Fan Company who have a warehouse in Al Quoz. The serum....it's miraculous. And relatively cheap, which is even better. I seem to remember it scoring really highly against other, expensive products, when it first came out.

I've been using the beauty serum for a couple of years and I really like it. I also like the eye cream. It probably has a proper name but I can't remember what it is (and can't be bothered to go upstairs and check). I also use a Boots moisturiser which I think is lovely but I'm not sure if it's P&P (or Restore & Renew in the UK) and again, cba to go upstairs and check. Sorry :)

I don't know but my 6 year old DS asked just a few days ago how Mummies and Daddies got babies. I tried to do a simple version of Daddies giving Mummies a seed for their eggs when they have a 'special cuddle'. He asked what a special cuddle was like, and was it like a cuddle that parents give their children so of course I said no, so he asked again. I kind of fluffed and said I can't remember and he said, "Oh come ON, you MUST remember!" I'm hoping he'll forget about it now for a few years. I've been a bit more specific with DD who's coming up 12 quite a while ago and she hasn't asked since. There are some books on the subject that come recommended, and I think it's been discussed on here at some point.

We went to Bandos in 2007 with the kids and had a great time. It wasn't quite as romantic as other islands but as Kellsbells said, it ticks all the boxes for a family holiday. If it hasn't gone downhill since I went then it's a relatively cheap and easily accessible island that I would recommend.

We bought sandstone tiles from The Stone Gallery on the road behind the traffic police/Tasjeel place near interchange 4 on SZR. I think the average cost for sandstone was about AED 75/sq m. Concrete tiles are cheaper.

That doesn't paint men in a particularly good light. It's pretty much saying that if a women employs a maid then she should expect her DH to want to shag her. I'm sure my DH doesn't expect me to shag all the gardeners, electricians, appliance deliverers, couriers, plumbers who are employed to work in our house. It's not a foregone conclusion that two people of the opposite s#x will jump into bed with each other.

It happened to my friends neighbour, and the DH divorced his wife and married the maid. One of DD's friends has parents in the same situation. I put my foot in it in a big way..... lol - what did you say? Well we used to have a F/T live-in housemaid but when we moved to the wild west we didn't take her with us, so the one doing all the cleaning, laundry etc is now me. DD brought a friend home for a sleepover. The following morning I looked in the guest room where he'd slept and it was completely tidy with the bed made to perfection. I was so surprised I asked if he had a maid and he said "No. We did but now it's my step-mum" Thinking it was the same scenario as us I said, "Oh yes, same here too" Except he meant that they used to have a maid but said maid was now his step-mum...
