It happened to my friends neighbour, and the DH divorced his wife and married the maid. One of DD's friends has parents in the same situation. I put my foot in it in a big way.....

Doesn't help that DH works in an industry filled with these women - he told me one in particular is nicer than me recently :( Ugh I'm becoming a jealous, bitter person - need to get a grip but can't quite get over that longing to be better if that makes sense! When we lived at the Lakes in Maeen, the next door neighbour was at it with the maid. All the other maids on the street knew (one of them told me). I saw him once disappearing into the Maid's room and closing the door behind him. Yuk. You also have to worry about the other women. There are a lot of Europeans who go out on the pull, hoping to bag a married man who earns a lot.... I hope you find the culprit. I have dogs, but I also have kids and I hate them stepping in dog shyt because someone can't be bothered to pick up. I have been caught out by one of the dogs taking a second dump after I've run out of bags, and that's embarrassing, but unlikely to be the case if it's happening every day.

I don't think i can approach the DH, the whole thing could go into WWW3 and then i woulnd't be able to support my friend who is having a tough enough time of it as it is with him. And if it's wrong and there's nothing going on you're highly likely to lose a friend over it if you intervene. I'd say to stay well clear.

I was furious at repeatedly finding dog cr.p outside my house because I was concerned that people might think it's me who's not clearing up after my own dogs. Like others, I didn't want someone else's laziness to ruin it for responsible dog owners. I've since discovered that are at least 3 strays around where I live and I've caught them in and around my garden, so it's them cr.pping everywhere.

So now i want to face the maid and ask her privately if it is true but fear it could all blow up, it would hurt my friend so much if she ever found out that it is a rumour let alone true. I hate this. I\d imagine there's zero chance of the maid admitting it, even if it's true - she'd know she'd be in deep sh!t if she admitted it. Have you seen any kind of interaction between the man and the maid?

OH it happens sweety, it happens much more than it doesn't happen! I have a friend of mine who caught her DH in action with the maid and it is disgusting! That means that over 50% of husbands in a household employing a maid are boffing said maid. Erm... I don't think so.

I don't think we can say that as parents we're only qualified to be maids. The children are OURS; there's an inbuilt need to protect them and make sure they have everything they need. For a maid, children might only be another part of the job - wash car, mob floor, scrub toilet, oversee child..... I think that ladies qualified as Nannies have a desire to be with children, look after them and protect them. Being a Nanny is a choice they've made. For many maids, looking after children isn't a choice but a task that is thrust upon them, whatever their opinion of children might be. Saying that, there are many unqualified maids who do a fantastic job of looking after kids.

Sanddy Dodd What planet are you on? Most maids are not saving they are supporting families in another country. Calm down. Yes, I worded it badly. I didn't mean that they all sock their wages away in a high interest account each week, but meant that what they earn is often theirs to do with as they wish - including send it home, and if it is the equivalent of £100 a week or thereabouts, that's a pretty tidy sum. It probably goes a bl**dy site further for their families than it does for people in the UK. Many maids earn enough to buy a plot of land, put a house on it, put their kids through school including higher education. Many people I know back home can't do that.

I have no problem downloading content to my Kindle. My account is with Amazon.com (as opposed to .co.uk) and my location is set to the UK as the content varies between the UK and the US and the UK has more of what I want. ETA Mine was bought from Amazon.com. They are selling them for US$139 which is AED 510. I'd be surprised if you could buy them cheaper than that here. <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 10/01/2011</em>

I love it when people specify what they want to drink. I had a courier turn his nose up at water and ask for a coke or pepsi instead, please ma'am. I don't care what a gardener has seen, I'll decide if I'm sharing beer, not him! There was a thread on here about a couple of years ago where a poster had had a party in her garden. When the gardeners came the next day she told them to help themselves to the drinks left out in the coolbox, thinking it was soft drinks in there. I think that's where the confusion is, Breteuil. In your earlier posts you mentioned that you went to the boarding gate. This is past security and immigration - where people actually get on the planes. I assume you actually meant check-in and not boarding gate?
