I thought I'd already replied on this thread but there's another from someone asking ho to take their dog TO the UK LOL! On the other thread I recommended contacting DKC or Move One.

I've heard only good things about DKC but I believe they're pricey. Move One also have a good reputation but I don't know how they stack up costwise.

I've got a Land Cruiser and i love it. Before that I had a Prado for 9 years and loved that. We've also got an F150 and it is an absolutely pain in the a@@@ to park. I can only really take it to MCC, Festival City or outside in Ibn Batutta. Definitely not an about-town vehicle.

You actually have to "think" about how to turn on the window wipers. I had to stop the car to figure it out (hangs head in shame)! Husband was driving my car today and asked me. I shrugged my shoulders :D

Yes it is :( I have a few items of laundry I need to get dry today. It's going to get packed wet at this rate. I had sausage hotpot for lunch at the golf club today - winter comfort food.

Yet, nothing has been found? I don't think so, but the AAIB are sure, from the info they have from Inmarsat, that the flight ended there. If it's true (and sadly, I think it must be) then I hope they find conclusive proof to give the families some closure.

Although I knew there wouldn't really be good news, I did harbour a little hope. However, if the UK's Air Accident Investigation Branch is saying there's no hope then I think it must be true :( RIP to all on board. I hope the truth is found.

I have a sore neck, it aches constantly. It crackles when I roll my head and I don't have full mobility. I'm also hoping it's the cause of headaches I've had all day every day for the past month :( I don't know the difference between chiropractors, osteopaths or anyone else really.

How can you tell what area you're searching? Can you zoom in? I can see some white bits but would like to zoom in for a closer look before I tag anything.

I've heard the same too, Polly. A ringing tone doesn't necessarily mean the actual phone is ringing. Can't explain messages showing as delivered though. I would love to think it's a sign of good news, but I really don't think there will be any. I can't imagine what the families are going through waiting day after day for something, anything, to tell them what happened to their loved ones. My thoughts are truly with them all.

Another couple of questions if I may.... Is anyone aware of rules that came in last year saying both buyer and seller must pay 2% to the government? I was told this is to try and stop people flipping properties. I've heard nothing else about this so don't know if it's true, or if it is, if it just applies to Dubai. Also, is it usual for the agent to take a cheque in their name for the 10% deposit? TIA

Off topic, but DR, do you know where you can get that tile cleaner from please? (Nothing sinister). Our wonderful cheapskate developers selected the cheapest tiles which aren't sealed and are therefor porous and absorb all the dirt that touches them.

There seems to be a lot of @rsing around with the passport department. I applied for my DD's passport mid Jan. I'm still waiting. She's booked to travel next month.

Not true Humanitarian. Taken from Emirates' website: "For all other itineraries, falcons, cats, dogs and pet birds can be transported as checked baggage in the hold, provided the total journey time (including any transit time) is less than 17 hours, and all appropriate conditions are met. Please contact your local Emirates office well in advance of travel for more information." http://www.emirates.com/ae/english/help/faqs/faqdetails.aspx?faqId=544304

Indeed. They have to make huge decisions themselves as to what they feel they can and can't do.

It depends on whether the route is calculated as weight concept or piece concept. Emirates flights to north and south America are piece concept. You are allowed two bags of 23kg and if you want to take more it's $175 for an extra bag. Double it if your extra "bag" is a pet and you pay $350 to a max of 32kg. Skycargo to N America charge about AED 114 per kg plus whatever charges. If it's a weight concept route you pay per kg. I'm not sure how animal costs are calculated per kg. My second paragraph is info given to me by Emirates yesterday.

He's not claiming the intruder shot her - he admits it was him who shot her. He claims he thought it was an intruder in the bathroom he shot, not Reeva.
