I too would get clarification first (actually, I wouldn't, I'd decant the medication into smaller bottles to ensure that it makes it onto the plane with me.). The prescription would prove that you are allowed to have that medication but I wouldn't assume it'll negate the 100ml rule.

Yes, you can get Maytag here. I've seen them in Plug-Ins and Jashanmal in DFC. I chose a Fisher & Paykel toploader over the Maytag toploader and regretted it ever since, especially as my F&P has died after less than 3 years. My next one will be a Maytag. We had Whirlpool in the UK and it served us well.

It makes me feel sick to think that yes, that may have been the case. I may have got to the restaurant and requested a highchair, gone for his stuff in my bag, whatever and realised; who knows? I am so thankful that it never got to that but it terrifies me - me who never allows anyone in their car without a seatbelt, me who made sure windows and balcony doors were properly secured, me who never turned away from a child in the bath, me who regularly checks the smoke detectors and has an evacuation plan discussed with the children - that my child may have died.

I did it once, when DS was a baby. I was stressed out and exhausted with a lot of big life-changing things that were happening. I arranged to meet a couple for lunch and planned to leave DS at home with the maid. For some reason I changed my mind and took him. I arrived at the venue, parked up - outside in 40 deg of heat - and went in to meet the couple. The lady said "Where is he?" and for a second I didn't know who she meant. The feeling of dread and panic is indescribable and I ran through the place, chased by security, wondered the **** I was going to find. Luckily, the car hadn't started to heat up by much and DS was still asleep. This was years ago and still makes me feel sick now. It doesn't just happen to irresponsible losers.

Google iStyle, they're the "Apple Store" in Dubai. They are in Dubai Mall, Ibn Batuta and MCC, not sure where else. Virgin sells Apple too. Check out the prices here and overseas and wait until you go overseas if it's cheaper.

So just for research, typing up notes/projects etc? As I said before, the Air is lower spec - it's not retina display, slower processor, smaller storage, max 13" screen etc, but the most expensive Air is cheaper than the cheapest Pro (basic models, not with user specified upgrades).

I bought mine in the US, saved quite a bit of money over buying it here. As singing says, if it's for light use the Air is ok. Otherwise, the Air doesn't have retina display, the Pro does; the Pro has a faster processor and between 128 and 512 GB of memory - the Air has a max of 256GB.

Doesn't help your immediate predicament, but I took a photo of a toilet and printed it next to the products and cloths to be used for the toilet (mine are colour-coded tea towels). I did the same for sink/bath/shower, kitchen and windows/mirrors. I laminated it and tucked it inside the bucket of cleaning products and cloths so they can see at a glance what to use.

I use Al Zajel and they charge a lot less than that. I have them twice a week and am very happy with them. There's also Home Services but I don't know what they charge. It might be frowned upon to suggest "maid" sharing on here.

It's doable if he can fly out Sunday morning and return Thursday night. There are plenty of flights a day between Dubai and Kuwait, it's not a long flight (less than 2 hours) and only an hour's time difference. My DH sometime does Kuwait as a day trip.

Hotels will still serve food. The malls, including supermarkets will INCREASE their opening hours during Ramadan. Most restaurants will not be serving during daylight hours. Food courts in malls will be closed. Even the Pick 'n' Mix candy stalls will have a sign on them saying "Takeaway only". If stores play music it will only be Quranic chanting, if you play music in your car keep it low so that it can't be heard from outside. And I assume you dress decently (knees and shoulders covered in public) anyway, so that should be fine. Covering that bit more during Ramadan won't do you any harm either.
