Conoco Phillips have been around for donkeys years. I was working on their projects in the 90s and they weren't a new company then.

Until people stand up and say no ,companies will get away with this. Surely a gift card is the same as cash or credit card so why should companies have an expiring date on a gift card, after all ,they already have the money in the bank and making interest. Expired gift cards are free money for the companies. The card purchaser has paid money for the card and if it expires it's more profitable for the company to be given money for nothing than it is to be given money in exchange for goods. I can't see why they'd want to change that.

They have more than one boat. Can you not have two boats travelling together? When you stop for the snorkelling you would all be together. Sorting out who goes on what boat in my group would be a nightmare :D I've booked with someone now, fingers crossed it works out.

There are also pockets of "no air" literally, which means there is nothing for the wings to hold onto and the plane will just fall until it hits air again. That's a myth; there can't be pockets of vacuum surrounded by air.

For sure. We only just dipping our toes in the water at the moment as we don't really want to be "expats" any more (although one of all always will be) but just looking where the opportunities are.

There's a possibility, but only a very small one. We won't be going anywhere unless we sell this ****** house! I did of course mean Life and not Like in my title.

I don't live there but I know people who do. Some people shop in Carrefour in Ajman City Centre, others drive to Al Hamra Mall in RAK to shop at Spinneys. If you're on FB this is the place you're looking at: https://www.facebook.com/mistral.villas?fref=ts

What an a***hole. He was very late in London too. Totally unacceptable when your average audience age is around 10 years old. Sadly most people will want to get their money's worth so will wait. It'd be much better if he walked on stage to an empty stadium.

I've bought DS's last two beds from Cilek and have been very happy with them both. They also have a store in Mirdif City Centre - 1st floor, Carrefour end.

How do you know you got it and how long ago did you get it? You will have to pay it when you re-register or sell your vehicle (or any vehicle in your name) anyway.

Thank you both. I will pass this on. ETA The maid is not aware she's going so it will be a pack-up-your-things-and-go scenario. At what point/where in the airport do the employers make it known they are cancelling her visa? edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 29/04/2013 make it known to who? Do they go to a regular check-in counter, and if so do they tell the check-in staff that the maid is being cancelled and packed off home? They are anticipating the news may not go down well with the maid - any advice?

Say your new insurance policy only covers persons of your immediate family. Say you had a small accident and now it is simply too much of a worry driving other people about in Dubai -( which it can be.) But why lie? (And the first one doesn't sound particularly believable to me). Why not just say, "Sorry but no, that's not convenient for me"

you are not alone i really understand what you feel! it happen to me 3 years back after a strong turbulence at take off. it ruins my life and all my holidays only thinking about it make me sick.. [b'>i know it will sound weird but i have an anti anxiety med if you want i can give you some..[/b'> all the best!! You also said a flight attendant, not a dr, gave you Deanxit so I was confused as to what you took and what you were offering to people. Sorry.

the name of the pill is deanxit a flight attendant gave me the name when i ask her.. also xanax is good. Deanxit is the trade name for Flupentixol/melitracen. Flupentixol is on the UAE Controlled Drug Class A list so be very careful what you do with it/who you give it to (although I don't think the FA had any business handing a drug like this out). If you can't buy it over the counter, play it safe and get a prescription from the GP

Same, same. :/: On my last flight I was saying to the nearest flight attendant before take off (she was a little busy), I need a brandy, I need a brandy, I NEED a brandy - about half an our after take off she brought me a plaster (??). lol. BYO :D I was prescribed Xanax a couple of years ago. I told my doctor exactly what the problem was and that's what he gave me. oh..just a little question SD...did they actually work for you?? I think so. It was a couple of years ago and a 14.5hr flight (no kids on that one). The doc told me to take one before take-off and another half way through. I seem to remember being ok, but dozed on and off the entire flight. It's turbulence that terrifies me and if the flight was smooth then the pills weren't really put to the test iyswim.

I woud be the wrong person to offer to buddy up, I am a NERVOUS wreck flying, [b'>The only positive thing is that I lose my appetite for a few days beforehand and have a path worn to the bathroom door, so I usually lose a couple of kilos. Just thinking about it now as I write, sends my stomach into knots.[/b'> You certainly are not alone, I know so many people with this phobia. Tell the airline in advance and they may be able to offer you assistance. (((hugs))) I know exactly how you feel. [b'>allovertheworld[/b'>, lovely but DH may object :D sarahlou, 3 of my friends are pilots and one a purser but STILL I'm scared! I did a flying without fear course with Virgin 10 years ago. It worked for a while but I'm scared again. I'm a lost cause LOL!
