It depends what you're buying and from where. Amazon generally include their shipping weights, others don't. If the weight isn't displayed then I'll contact the seller and ask for the weight.

Is it a flat AED 99 or is that just for the first year? I got an iPhone with a Du package and it was AED 100 a month. After a year it doubled and when I called I was told the 100 was just for the first year. I checked all the small print and it still wasn't clear (it certainly wasn't explained when I bought the phone and package). Also, if you want access to FB, emails and the internet overseas neither Du nor etisalat offer iPhone packages covering these. ETA I usually exceed the 50 national texts (but not the 50 international ones). I have the 1gb data package and have never exceeded it. <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 09/07/2012</em>

Thanks. Both DD and I just had our eyes tested but we got charged for neither as I bought glasses for DD. I was just trying to compare with the costs of an eye test at home.

Go on their website http://www.theentertainerme.com/ and see if you are likely to use many of the vouchers in the books. If so then yes, it's worth it. If you don't eat out much or use places like Atlantis, Wild Wadi, Dreamland etc then it may not be worth the outlay.

Is that at Vision Express in MCC? If so I'll take DD there. Do you have to show that your child has seen an eye doctor in a hospital first? We've always been told they wouldn't do it under xx years of age but I couldn't remember what that age was.

DD has been wearing glasses for years (she's older than 12 btw). She usually gets her eyes tested and glasses made in the UK. I would like to get them done here before we go this year so I want to know how old a child needs to be to get their eyes tested, like an adult, in a regular opticians.

Thanks Ladies. DD has been done at a hospital years ago (no 'problems' apart from being near sighted). she normally has her eyes tested when we're back in the UK but I would rather not spend the time there and get it done here.

P*** around on the computer. Actually I do that a lot with time that's not actually "free". How much sailing do you get to do in a month? Only a couple of days a month with other people. I'm hoping to change that after the summer and sail when the kids are at school. What I REALLY want to do is go lobster fishing with CA. :D

Me neither (not that I bring booze south any more), but I was always prepared that if I was stopped I'd probably be in the wrong. Someone else on here contacted Sharjah police who was told that a Dubai or AD licence would not cover them through Sharjah so it could be a bit of a grey area. I suppose one would have to ensure a driver had a licence and would be comfortable transporting alcohol through other Emirates.
