For the booking (if you're taking them excess baggage) you can do it over the phone with KLM - I did it last night to take a dog and two cats to Canada with me next week.

Yes I do, but on quite a high temp - about 27C or so. It takes forever to cool down otherwise, and as omeone else said, mould can form

KLM don't fly to Miami, you'd have to fly from AMS to CDG then on to Miami with Air France. Check if Air France will fly dogs as excess (and up to what max weight) and maybe consider DXB-CDG-MIA with Air France. Air France's website isn't as informative as KLM's but hopefully they'll have the same policies.

It's been a long time since I've been to MoE. I'm really quite surprised about both stores.

I finish work at 1pm :D I think I may get a slap if I tell them that we can all work two hours less as it's Ramadan given that I work part time. I have three days off now because DH is back on sunday after a loooooooong trip overseas. I'm going to ARTE tomorrow then Dubai Mall (which I expect to be manic) before retreating to our quiet backwater. DS still has another 4 days f school

KLM will take dogs as excess baggage up to maximum weight of 75kg http://www.klm.com/home/ae/en?locale=ae_en&query=pets#g_np_sa-page=1&sa=2 They're the only airline I know who will take pets weighing more than 32kg as excess baggage. Lufthansa dropped their limit to 32kg last year.

Exactly! If you woldn't do it, why expect someone else to? I am appalled by the woe-is-me attitude because "I" have been told I do not have suitable conditions to house a maid.

Beamers and projectors are the same. I bought one for work, not too expensive, from emax in Mirdif City Centre. Can't for the life of me remember the brand though. Will try and remember when I'm at work tomorrow.

If you plan on going on the Petronas Towers bridge, book online in advance. Don't turn up hoping to buy tickets (like I did). I did the bus tour with my children. It's for peanuts and a great way to get your bearings. The guy who sold me the tickets told me to stay on the bus for a full circuit to see everything then decide which stops I wanted to get off at on my next time around - good advice. Public transport is clean, easy and cheap too. I found taxis to be fine, just make sure you get a proper one (can't remember how you tell the difference. IF I remember I will ask DH who works there and is there now)

Would YOU want to sleep with YOUR boss's family? No, I didn't think so. As others have said, you do NOT have the means to have a live-in maid, therefore either change your situation so you do have the means, or don't have a live-in maid.

Yasmin worked well for me except that I have hypertension so hormonal contraceptives such as oral, depo or implants are out. Abstinence is reliable and has few side effects :D (As is getting him done...)

Yes, I'm aware from many previous threads that English is not your first language, but to read what you have written, anyone who didn't know would assume you were English, as would I. Now I want to hear you speak :D

I gave my residential address as they won't deliver to my PO Box, but I wondered if SEY83 had only given a PO Box number.

SEY83, did you give your work's physical location or your work's PO Box number? The passports have to be signed for (and one out of the four times I was asked for my EID).

I think calling is a little more specific. When I called about ours the lady I spoke to managed to tell me when mine was received for printing and how long that was likely to take.

Why do you need to cancel the visa and get an exit stamp? You can take the new passport to immigration tomorrow and get a new visa put into it (at a cost) while you wait. That's what we did when DD's new passport came back but we thought the old one with her visa in it wouldn't be back in time. Does the sponsor need to be present to do this?

With HSBC it's up to 75% and I guess others are the same. It was 80 or 85% when we took our mortgage out, I think, but they've reduced it.
