DS's took exactly 7 weeks, mine took 7.5. DS's old passport arrived 4 days after the new one, I'm still waiting (today is the 4th day since I got my new one).

I wouldn't leave a dog alone more than about 5 or 6 hours at a time. If you can ensure that doesn't happen then I don't see a problem.

Please give careful thought to getting a dog if you're out 6/7/8 hours a day at work. Dogs need more socialisation than cats, unless you're planning to take it to day-care or getting someone to come in and take care once or twice a day.

No, I think I'll have to pay. I could refuse but then I might have the new owner breathing down my neck.

Alismum: we pay direct to the developer. There's no resident's association, just a FB group where we all feel as upset and confused as each other. Di: I'm not in Dubai so no RERA. Not even sure if there's an equivalent. Bess: 5 fils a unit so we're now paying a flat 50 fils per unit.

Sadly the Dreamliner isn't on either my way out or into to London! Annoyingly! Yep SL - I am so sick of EK and their overcharging! Bring on the competition :) Hi. How do you know if it's the Dreamliner or not? Silly me. Dreamliner is a Boeing 787 (sorry Apricot, not the B777 ;) )

Hello ladies... I have been keeping an eye on this thread as I sent my son's passport at the end of April and ... I got the new passport and the old one on Saturday!!!! I had been stressing as we are travelling at the beginning of July. I have been calling the passport office but they couldn't really do anything.. emailed Paul a few times and eventually got an email back and it seemed to set the ball rolling... within a couple of day, the passport was printed and sent to DHL... whether this was a coincidence or not, I don't know.. but don't give up... i reckon they have realised what a mess up it is for overseas people who need the visa/passport for more than just travelling.... and so have put more effort in imo. Yes, I think that's the case. DS's came separately as I expected. My old one will come separately too.

My DD passport reached office 25th April, I got it back a few days ago ( wed, I think) but still no sign of the old one. Several people who didn't send till middle of May got both old and new one back together today - things def seem to be improving. Just hoping the old one turns up. I received DS's new one on Weds and his old one today.

I received DS's old passport today - 4 days after the new one so I'm hoping to get my old one back this week. [b'>mumof3msee[/b'> It took several days for them to reply to my email. I really hope you get sorted asap. [b'>buddha[/b'> Yes it is illegal and you can get caught - I did with DD's passport. It wasn't intentional but I applied for her renewal while I was in the UK (she remained in the UK).There was a problem with her application and by the time I found out I was already back in the UK. I was told I would have to return to the UK to submit another application and remain in the UK until it was processed. Luckily, the team leader of the team processing her renewal realised that I was in the UK at time of application and let me do it by courier. A person may be lucky, but just an FYI that they can and do check.

When we did our snagging we were given something stupid like one hour and weren't allowed to bring anybody else. This was for a 4000+ sq ft villa. We missed loads of stuff.

[b'>Because that's why I think you have met.[/b'> It's not uncommon for EW members, upon meeting, to say who else they've met in RL (or indeed, to say on the forum who they've met). Not much of a mystery, I'm afraid. I know its none of my beeswax, but I couldn't understand that line. The mental images are supposed to be about people who haven't met in RL. DT commented that TB hadn't done her mental image yet. TB and I have met in person and I seem to remember her telling me she'd met DT (amongst many others) in real life, hence she knows what DT looks like. DT asked if I knew her and I said no, but I knew TB, which is how I knew they'd met.

I don't mind geckos in the house as they're not venomous don't have teeth or stings, are scared of us, and eat nasties. However, if you get one take up residence it will poop on the wall, and above where you can easily reach :)

no luck for us so far...documents rcvd on 1st May, emailed Paul Pugh twice- no respone, its DS first passport and we have flighs booked for 6th July :-( Our documents were received 23rd April - so over a week before you - and I got DS's on Wednesday and mine today, so you may have another week to wait for yours. What stage did they say yours was at?

BUT... last night someone mentioned that they are not returning old passport. IS this correct? If so, dd will not have her visa and we won't be able to travel. Anyone know anything about this? TIA x I hope that's not the case. DS and I have both received our new passports in the past few days but no sign of the old ones. Someone has mentioned that they always send old and new separately anyway.

Woohoo! I've just taken delivery of mine too - 7.5 weeks after documents were delivered to the Liverpool office :D :D Yes, we need out old ones back too, but if it comes to it we'll get our visas cancelled and come back in on visit visas. Our residency visas are due to expire in October anyway so we won't lose much.

Things we got and things we missed: Are the floor tiles sealed? Ours aren't and are porous so they soak up everything and look like **** Do all the a/c's works? Do the water heaters work? Do the extractor fans work (and does each switch turn on the right one?) Do all the power sockets actually have power?

JoyceB, quite petite with bobbed, dark hair and a fringe. Very matter-of-fact. Prefers to walk instead of taking the bus. Famous for her casseroles. Ok, I'm done - is nobody else going to do any??? :D You haven't "done" me ... so to speak .... lol Haven't you met, though?

If they have an access card they won't need to stop at security - they'll just wave the card at those things on sticks (sorry!) and the barrier will open. Even if they don't have an access card they can go through the visitor lane at gate 3, give the address and security will let them in

As others have said, do your research. If it's pitched right there will be no need to drop. We put ours up above what we paid for it off-plan, but less than other properties the same as ours. We got a few offers which we knocked back but one guy offered us less than we paid, what we paid, and very slightly above what we paid. We turned all of his offers down. About a month later someone offered full asking price. ETA we bought it off plan in 2007 and took possession in 2010. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 11/06/2014

JShepherd, I used the application number which appears on the form you have to print out and send once you've done the online application. It's a 10 digit number.

I never made note of my password so I've never used the online tracking. I did send an email (someone posted a link). It took a few days but I got a response saying both passports were under examination, which didn't clarify much. I might call about mine tomorrow if it doesn't come back.

It was received by Liverpool 7 weeks ago today. Yes, delivered to my home. I'm wondering if there's a mistake in the info they gave you, mmpico, and they think you're in a country where passports are handled by the embassy. If you send two people's applications together do they get sent back separately (does anyone know?)
