Washing won't get the smell out. Although you can't smell it, she still can so to her it probably smells like a 'toilet'. You can buy sprays that clean and remove the smell, even to dogs whose noses are so much more sensitive than ours, but I'm not sure it would work on a bed if the smell has penetrated deep inside. For now I would remove her bed and therefore the smell of her urine and see how that goes for now. One of my dogs kept peeing on DS's rug, where a foster dog had previously peed. No amount of washing, even in white vinegar, stopped it. I threw the rug out and replaced it, and my dog never peed in DS's room again.

What scares me is those @ r s e's who run across the Emirates Road even though it's effectively a motorway and and are practically guaranteed death if they are struck. And the driver would have to pay... That used to be a way of ensure that their families back home would be ok...... I remember when that was the craze. I think it was in 2002 there were a number of incidents where workers were running in front of cars as the blood money would accrue to more than they'd ever make working . I also remember one of the explore Dubai books including the sentence 'if you have not had an accident while driving in Dubai, it's just a matter of time...' :\: I remember that too. I also remember the advice not to stop and help in case the person died and you were taken to be responsible. I thought the authorities were changing the whole blood money thing years ago to stop workers from intentionally committing suicide for the money.

I found burgers can be quite bland so the W sauce gives it a bit more flavour. Tabasco livens them up a bit too.

full roast lamb dinner with home made mint sauce and onion sauce, roasties the lot! Can't wait. Plus DH has filled the 'special' fridge ..... Shame I need to take DS to the hospital for an 8am appt! Does that mean I should start and finish early on the grape? We had roast lamb shoulder with potato wedges and veg last night.

Home made burgers and salad. Refreshing myself as I type. Oooh share your burger recipe There's not really a recipe. It's a couple of packets of mince mixed with a finely chopped onion, a beaten egg, a couple/three tablespoons of bisto gravy granules, a real good slug of Worcestershire sauce, a good few drops (well, quite a lot) of Tabasco and dried breadcrumbs. I keep the breadcrumbs (sold as "bread grumps" in my local Aswaq) on hand ad keep adding as I'm mixing until I'm happy the mix isn't too 'wet'. They go down well with adults as well as kids.

Doesn't it HURT to poke about with it? I can only advise to get it checked out. I know it's not what you want to hear, but just because it's ok now doesn't mean it will be later. The government hospitals have emergency rooms and are very cheap. Not sure where is the nearest one to you, though.

Bit of both I think. There's no insulation in the roof, of course, so that doesn't help, but I remember it didn't churn out vast quantities of icy air like the Prado. The kids were always hot in the back of the Jeep. I've also got a little boxy Land Cruiser and I'm interested to see how the a/c performs in that.

My Prado has fantastic a/c. It has climate control in the front and both passenger and driver can choose different temperatures. The back has a separate a/c systwm which also has vents in the very back (the third row of seats). It starts blowing cold air very quickly once the engine is running too so a hot car cools very quickly. Mine is an old car so too so I would imagine the newer ones are still really good.

Paying AED 3000 to have all my a/c units serviced and a couple repaired. The 'company' showed up 2 hours late then proceeded to grab my ****ing facecloth (Cristy, I hasten to add) out of the bathroom and use it to clean the vents! [img'>http://www.smileys4me.com/getsmiley.php?show=1130[/img'>

I had a ring made by Julie at Clarity after seeing her name pop up here quite a few times with good feedback. I was very happy with the service all the way through, she really goes the extra mile. Clarity is ont he opposite side to Cara, set back so the shop backs on to the outside wall.

I'm not sure if South Africans are a special case but I'm fairly sure that one of the requirements to get a UK passport is to live legally in the UK for 5 years (this is what my Mum's DH is having to do).

Aren't there nose pins or something like that to help with snoring? There are different types of snoring (I read old EW posts, thank you ladies for sharing) - in my case, my DH snores from the throat. So, didn't work for him (obviously read old EW posts AFTER buying the nasal clips, clever). Did you find a solution for a throat snorer? Like I said I used Trip Advisor, the Thorn Tree forum which is part of the Lonley Planet web site and for driving routes and times used google maps. Great, thanks! Am about to take my car to the RTA to transfer to new owner. There is 6 months outstanding on the car insurance. I believe we can get a rebate from Axa for the unused months, but how do I do this. [b'>I *think* I need to get a photocopy of the new registration card (with the new owners details on it), then take it to Axa[/b'>. Does anyone know what happens then? Do I have to take it to the main Axa office, or can I do it at the counter at the RTA? And in what form do I get my money back from them? Cash, cheque, CC refund? Anyone done this lately. It's the last few weeks of being here and suddenly seem to be spending a lot of time doing this sort of thing because no one can give me a straight answer, so ladies of EW if you have any pearls wisdom on this please do share.. Correct. You can scan and email as long as you give all the relevant details (policyholder's name, policy number etc.). We did this with Axa in January and it was dealt with very quickly.
