I spend a lot of time outside but can't be without sunglasses, even wearing a hat. As a result I have white eyes and a tanned face, even though I wear SPF50. Can anyone recommend a product to "fill in" the white? If I was at home I would ask at a beauty counter but I don't have any faith in the shop assistants here. TIA... edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 05/01/2012

Thanks Ladies, I'll give ACE a try today. I want them to store sleeping bags so creases aren't a problem.

SM, I bought a washing machine from C4 a couple of months ago. Someone delivered it and said someone else would call to arrange to plumb it in. Some papers were left for me to sign to say it had been installed and was working which would be taken by the installer. DH ended up doing it instead because we didn't want to wait and DH is more than capable of doing it, but I know that it definitely wasn't installed at the time of delivery. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 04/01/2012

It depends on where you bought it from - you might be lucky.

It sounds like the plug on the washing machine will need to be removed (if it comes with one) and the wires connected directly into the socket (through the hole in the socket plate). The people who install the washing machine should sort this out for you (although I ordered a washing machine from C4 and the people who delivered it were not installers, they would come at a different time).

Spinneys and Carrefour have it. I can't remember the name but it's in the baking section. It's in a silver vacuum pack with a red stripe.

Here you go... http://www.c25k.com/ On a treadmill, set at 2% incline if you can and you'll be doing 5km at speed in no time! I was almost 30kg overweight when I started the program in Sept...C25K plus much better eating habits and I'm 5kg off my goal weight now. :D Of course, now I'm pregnant so that's all about to go down the gurgler... Congratulations!!! :D :D

Yeah, that's it. The chillers are hit and miss in the summer (usually miss) and it takes on a greenish tinge every once in a while.

Thank you for your replies. We put an offer on a Grenada townhouse yesterday and have been told 8 weeks for electric, dose anyone hold out much hope for this happening. Are there any problems with the houses that I should look out for? I've had electricity in Granada for 18 months so I don't know what the issue is - someone's got their wires crossed somewhere along the line. Fingers crossed Wingclip sees your message.

That's what I'm hoping. It's a 29 day visa in this case but I'm hoping he can enter any time in the 60 day window, and stay for 29 days, even if the departure date is past the 60 day validity (does that make sense?)

To be honest we can't spend that much on a housewarming present at the moment...So, how about a bottle of wine, flowers or even a very delicious and beautiful cake (they both love desserts)? TIA Sounds just perfect and I'm sure they'll appreciate it :)

It's not the same as reading a diary. Whatever DD would write in a diary (assuming she had one) could maybe shock/upset/offend me but no-one else if I choose not to share what she had written.. What she writes on Facebook can have far-reaching consequences and get her into a whole load of trouble. My DD has FB with the knowledge that I am free to log in to her account and check as and when I want. If she doesn't want me "snooping" she doesn't have FB - her choice. She HAS written posts and PMs that are inappropriate and I think I was right to explain to her, why she was wrong, get her to delete them and, if necessary, apologise. I don't think (sorry for the assumption AQ) the OP's point is just to find out what your teens are up t for the sake of it, but to ensure they're not getting themselves into trouble - especially in this part of the world. ETA I don't 'snoop' without DD's knowledge. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 27/12/2011

OK, thanks for the info - that sounds like it would be ideal for her. She spends a fortune each month with her regular phone - mainly through sms's. Most of her friends have BB's so they all communicate with each other using BBM. My thoughts are that at the moment she's burning her way through around AED 150 a month with her current phone so I'm hoping to spend the AED 49 for the subscription plus a little on top for sms or calling credit each month. If she uses all the credit she'll still have BBM and other messenger services to make contact if she needs to. Does that make sense? I just wanted to make sure the prepaid Social package wouldn't end up costing a fortune in the same way that prepaid iPhone users were spending ridiculous amounts keeping their phones going.

On prepaid there's a set amount of credit on the phone - if she uses it, it's gone. My concern is that on postpaid she'll get carried away yapping to her friends, or decide to call Grandma in Canada on it and run up a huge bill. With the prepaid, is it jut a case of making sure there's the AED 49 on there to keep the service active, then any credit required to make calls?

Sorry, it sounds like there's no power at Mina Al Arab from my previous post. There is, it's just not FEWA supplied yet (temporary connection like most of the new areas in RAK). I'm guessing RB is the same?

We had the same situation as you, travelling an hour for nothing. With the last car we sold we made it clear that viewers could see it when we were in Dubai, or they would have to travel to us. If they're that keen they'll agree.

Power is not yet supplied by FEWA, no idea when it will be either. Electricity is charged at 45 fils per unit (flat rate) and water at 5fils per unit.

If you can be bothered remove the netting, springs and 'bouncy bit' just before summer to prolong the life of the trampoline.
