If lunch is dinner, then what is lunch? no longer exists, unless you are from Southern England! When all the proper words come into use:- [b'>Breakfast Lunch Dinner[/b'> Just as it should be :) Tea is a drink despite all my step/parents using it as a name for the evening meal.

I have an Oregon one. I didn't buy it here but you can buy the from amazon although I'm not sure if they ship to here (no problem if you have Shop & Ship). ETA Search "Oregon Scientific" edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 25/09/2011

I have way too much time on my hands. I will work out the price of washing powder, washing up liquis, fabric conditioner etc to see if the bigger packs are cheaper per kg/ml/whatever. Quite a few times I've found it to be cheaper to buy two 500g packs than a 1kg pack (as an example).

Hi, We are looking for an Part time maid in Tecom who should speak good English. If anyone has any information please reply.:) Unless you're willing to sponsor a maid yourself it's illegal to share a maid with someone else. There are plenty of references for agencies on the maid forum.

I've just searched his name on here and a post where I recommended him came up - that is the number I gave out for him in 2009. ETA Unfortunately I can't remember the name of his company if his number has changed. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 24/09/2011

Oh, I remember you :) The person who gave me this guy's details began with a C. I'm trying to think if that number if familiar (I don't have this guy's number on my phone any more). I may have recommended him on his in a previous life so that could be where you got it from.

While I agree that if it says B777 JET it could mean there's no specific aircraft assigned to that route (so could be 300, 200, ER, LR atc) I disagree that it means a 2-engined aircraft. An A340, an A380 and a B747 all have 4 engines. They're also jets. Jet refers to the engine type, not the number of engines. The Dakota (DC-3) has two engines. It ain't a jet :D

Tupperware lids!!!!!!!!! Don't start me!!!!!!!!! I stacked all my Tupperware/storage boxes with the lids all stacked separately - what a nightmare! I spent an hour last weekend putting all the lids on my boxes and putting them back in the cupboard. They take up more space but save me so much time. Yes but what about when you sit down to start doing that and you have loads of lids and loads of bottoms but none of them match??! WHERE ARE THEY??!!! One has the cooking oil bottle in it ( to stop it making the shelf oily) One has teabags lined up in it Some have Lego in them

Whenever I lose something.... it always turns up in the fridge or freezer.... :\: LOL I found my keys in the fridge once - I have no idea how they got there! I used to put my car keys in the fridge. When I was working, if I bought something in my lunch break that needed to be refrigerated I knew I would forget to take it home if I put it in the fridge so I used to put my car keys in the fridge with the food. I knew I couldn't go anywhere without my cars keys so when I went to take them to drive home and couldn't find them I would always remember they were in the fridge along with my food.

You can click on your username then click on your post count in the info box and that will list all the threads you've posted on. Bit long winded though.... Thanks ladies. I shall start again! When booking online with Emirates you get to a page where you choose your flight time aircraft etc I am Getting a choice between an ER or a 777 Jet W T. F Does that mean aircraft undecided or do they actually call one a Jet? WTF!!! why should any airline in the world tell the clients which ETOPS operating aircraft should he/she choose !!! :\: sorry to say: this doesn't concern the passenger at all what type of ETOPS the aircraft is flying under it. this is the concern of the flight planner/ flight dispatcher who do the flight plan :\::\::\: edited by Gorobattie on 21/09/2011 I'm assuming that the OP can choose which aircraft by deciding which flight to take. I don't think she's insinuating that she will be the one who makes the decision which aircraft will fly her and the rest of the passengers on the day she chooses. Deep breath, dear... :)

You can sponsor a maid and have her live elsewhere. You will need to pay extra for her accommodation and transport costs on top of her salary though. I don't know what planet the agencies are on but if they class 40 hours a week as p/t I'd like to know how many hours they expect their maids to work for full time :(

Oops, all posting together. However, this should reinforce what we are all saying - please do not go down this route as it's too risky. And yes, people have been caught and fined.... There is a maids forum on here, you should be able to find plenty of recommendations for good agencies there :)

Unfortunately, any maid you employ, whether it be part-time or full-time must be sponsored by you. If you do not wish to sponsor a maid then use an agency who will have all the legalities covered. Maids can only work under the sponsorship of their employer, be it you or an agency. You can face a fine of AED 50-100k if caught using an illegal maid. You will find adverts for maids looking for jobs on their "own visa". This is illegal.

If your supply is bottled gas it may well be that the regulator is not allowing enough gas to flow to allow the oven to heat to the temperature you have set. Buy an oven thermometer and use that to gauge the temperature inside the oven instead of relying on the oven itself. You may need to find you have to set the oven quite a bit hotter than the dial says.

My kid's (non-public) school is over 50% local, and many of those being from either the ruling or influential families. The fact that they're there and not in public schools tells me a lot. Not a chance I'd put my kids in public schools, even if we were a partly Arabic speaking family.

If by nanny you mean maid, then she can live-out under your sponsorship. If you mean a proper nanny then I don't know, but I assume she could live elsewhere.

If my maid had been working illegally behind my back I would appreciate being told about it. Definitely tell her. What she does with the information is up to her, but what if she is oblivious, the maid gets caught and the family get fined, how will you feel then? It's easy to just say, "Hey, I've been told your maid has been doing illegal p/t work and just wanted to make sure you are aware because of the the stiff penalties for all concerned if she gets caught."
