This site drives me crazy. Why assume that they go back for benefits etc! What about missing family? Ill relative? Just don't like Dubai(maybe because so many people are so far up there own a**es because they can afford a maid etc so think they are the bees knees!!!)???? We are considering going back for family reasons. Have never had benefits and would never ask for them!! I though this site was to help others not slate them!!!! [b'>I guess non of you are from the Uk!!![/b'> You guessed wrong. Yes, I'm sure a lot of people do go back for family reasons but this thread has been discussing financial reasons so far. If you want to throw family into the mix as a reason, go ahead - it's a very valid reason, but don't get your drawers in a twist because it's not been mentioned until now. Benefits/financial security has been cited as [b'>A[/b'> reason, no-one's saying it's the only reason.

I'm not sure how you find out what the service charges are, whether the info is readily available. An average seems to be 2-4 per sq ft I think. I pay well over the average at AED 40k+ a year *sob*

Service charges are usually based on the built-up area size rather than the plot size. What you need to find out is the price per sq ft. that is charged for each development (and they can vary by development and developer).

Thanks for your replies. It is making me so down. I have been making sure to go out after work and meet up with friends just so I don't wallow alone at home but I start work early so I'm home by 11 and in bed. He walks in at 12 and that's it. I haven't seen his face for 4 days. I did say hurtful things during the argument but so did he. That same evening I tried to make up with him but he was still angry and now I don't even want to make an effort because he is clearly not interested. Unfortunately he might be thinking exactly the same thing. Sometimes you do have to swallow your pride (or be the bigger person) and initiate the conversation. If he continues to ignore you then you know you've done the right thing and at least made an effort. On the other hand, it might just be the thing to get you back on the right track again. It's not a game of pride.

I have met a few of the ladies from EW but for me it is mainly cyber friendship. Ignoring doesn't work, he still rings every time. Today was the first time DH told him "No more!" so we'll see if that works. Mine is supposed to come Tues and Sat but has been coming very randomly the past few weeks, due to Eid I guess. This means we get the element of surprise as well as annoyance at the moment LOL!

Well the garbage truck has just shown up (he now seems to come on random days) and he rang the bell. DH answered and the guy said "Water!" DH just replied "No more!" and made an enough/khalas motion with his hands and closed the door. Hopefully he's got the message. If not, I'll complain to the company that runs our development.
