As long as you can get all the eLife services. I've been paying for eLife for over a year but still can't stop, FF, Rewind or record any programs. I miss my Du package *sigh*

Have you checked that DKC has availability because they get pretty busy? You may find they're not an option if they're full.

Depends on the seat configuration of the aircraft but if it's 2 seats to the side try and get the aisel seat with an empty window seat if at all possible (even better still if it's bulkhead). I found it easier to sit in the aisle seat and let DS have his seat plus the floor space to play in while I was blocking his exit to the aisle.

I've heard the place right near the bridge (on the pearl roundabout side of the bridge, near ADCB building) is supposed to be pretty good. I heard that 3rd hand but will try and find out as I would like to know too. DD goes to the ortho at RAK hospital who I have no problem with but DS has seen a different dentist there and he won't be going back...

Just wondering but isn’t text speak meant to be used in sms messages rather than forums? After all there's plenty of time and space to write out words correctly here or am I out of date? Perhaps you younger ladies can advise :) I'm with you on this one :) Makes my teeth itch, it does.

OP said they should have had it checked out before they bought it. I'm wondering if it might be a case for the police though. It would depend on how much damage was patched up and by whom - why was it repaired without an accident report?

Do you mean individual blades or the complete razors/heads? The washbags given to men in Business Class contain a single-piece razor so they're allowed. ETA. The restricted articles lists [i'>"Razor blades and straight razor blades"[/i'> so you'll have to leave your Sweeney Todd style blade at home :) <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 22/08/2011</em>

HOPE YOU GET YOUR KEYBOARD SORTED SOON! :D Not ALL landline calls in Dubai are free either. I was frequently charged for dialling landlines from my home phone. Whether Jebel Ali wasn't considered "Dubai", or whether it was because I was calling from one provider to another I don't know.

I would imagine it would be quite expensive though as hotels tend to charge high amounts for calls. PS. Are you aware that by typing all in capitals you are "shouting"?

Not sure, I can only suggest you cll them and ask. There are other schools but I know nothing about them. It was a good few years ago but that's what we did, we moved in October so DD did 1st term in UK then finished the year in BSM. We lived in an independent villa in an area called Al Ilam - on the border with what most expats call MQ. Our neighbours were all locals, but all very nice, much more open and hospitable than Emiratis I found. We didn't have a pool so we joined the leisure club in the Intercontinental Hotel. Muscat has moved on a lot since we were there so there will be a lot more to do than we when lived there.

Oman should be right up your street, plenty of outdoor activities and THE most beautiful scenery. DD went to BSM (British School of Muscat) which is Brit curriculum. I loved the school. And Muscat :)

Frozen turkeys will be in the supermarkets well ahead of time too of you have room to store one. If you want a fresh bird then I would pre-order from Spinneys (Waitrose?). Real Christmas trees are also sold in Carrefour.

I can't remember the name of the lady who sells them but call on 050 246 4840 or 04 380 1338. She should know who the stockists are so you can write a list and call them in turn. She got mine couriered up to me and I got mine within 24 hours. I know it doesn't help you, but she really is a helpful lady. ETA The lady I dealt with is called Rima. <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 17/08/2011</em>

You will know on check-in whether your bags are checked all the way through as the destination will be printed on the luggage tag. I would be extremely surprised if you have to collect in BKK, in fact I would put money on it that they will be checked all the way through. I'm not sure how strict they are with cabin baggage weight in DXB, never been asked to weigh it there but I was asked to place my bag on the scales in LHR recently and had to remove 4kg of weight from it *blushes*.

It was a website for purchasing online tickets for shows, movies etc so maybe were collected, although I don't know if they would need to show the card. I don't believe it was a mistake. It's a UAE card which I used in S America a couple of months ago, this online purchase was in the same country. Unlikely we share a similar card number and the same expiry date and verification code. I think someone over there stored my card details when I used it, and used my card more recently. When someone flips the card over to check the signature they can make a mental note of the verification code. I suppose all the other details they would need would be on the merchant's copy of the credit card slip. <em>edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 16/08/2011</em>

It's definitely not mine! It's something ordered online and I did not use that website (and certainly not for that amount). I guess someone somewhere got my card details whilst I was in that country and used them since. I've called the bank and they've advised me to fill in a dispute forma and email it back to them.
