Yep. I asked him if he thought f*** was a swear word and when he blushed I asked why he thought it was acceptable to play music with that word in their store. I got a "Sorry ma'aaaaam, it won't happen again ma'aaaaam" Uh huh.

If it's just a cold there's not a lot a doc can do except suggest painkillers for fever/comfort and plenty of fluids. And chocolate. Well, I made the last one up, but..... ;) If you do get earache then I'd go to the doc for that in case you get a full blown ear infection.

Just googled it, it's called 'hidden city' ticketing and could result in my return flight being cancelled. Back to Expedia for me....

Not sure if anyone can answer this.... I'm trying to book flights from Canada to Dallas and back. The cheapest option by far is to go via Houston. As Houston is on place where we'll be heading can we ask for our bags to only be checked as far as Houston and just not take the Houston-Dallas flight when we check in?

If it's an issue, call them and ask. It was certainly acceptable to BYO when I flew with them but that was quite a few years ago.

I think the OP was referring to Skywards miles earned on Emirates flights; the link is for Airmiles which you collect from stores, credit card transactions etc.

We've been back and forth to the peadiatrican and it's not asthma. It's bizarre because she coughs throughout the day but this weird episode only happens at night and for the past week, only once. What she does actually sounds like whooping cough and I might mention it to the paed next time we go because she wasn't fully vaccinated as a baby (reaction to vaccine).

I flew recently on an A330 from Qatar which is an aircraft normally used for longer journeys, such as 6-9 hours. It was ok. Given the choice I'd probab;y fly EK because the entertainment and food is a bit better but if Qatar is much cheaper I'd have no hesitation in flying with them - I'd choose them over BA or Virgin. I did the Sao Paulo route with Qatar last month and they gave extremely good service.

Those of you with kids with allergy-related coughs, did your children almost seem to choke they coughed so hard? DD started with a cough about a month ago which lessened somewhat but she's been left with something that affects her at night only. It's like her lungs are completely empty and can't seem to pull in any air and it's terrifying for her (and us!). She would shoot out of bed in a panic unable to breathe. It's eased of a bit now but still happens once a night. She's been on different cough medicines, anti-allergy medicines and pills, had a blood test and a chest x-ray and is now on 2 inhalers a day which don't seem to have much effect. She's only been on them for 2 days so I don't know if their effect is supposed to be instant or takes a while.

So based on that, all the women wearing trousers under their abayas are in the wrong too? Women's trousers do not look like mens except in the case of shalwar kameez where both are identical. i own plenty of trousers but clearly designed for women and couldn't be mistaken for a man's garment. That is the difference. but what do i know?! i'm only a muslim :) See, I don't get that. The SK that women wear may be the same shape that men wear but the men's garment are all pretty much the same, varying only in colour, and then not by much. The women's version could never be mistaken for a man's outfit and vice-versa. If you want to go by shape, the kandoura isn't hugely different to a jalabaya.

The point I was trying to make was that it's pretty ironic to have spelling mistakes in a post where you're criticizing someone else's spelling :) Point taken :) This happened some time back and now I can laugh about it :) I was just trying to make it funny :) I am not criticizing. I know that there is no right way of spelling a name, but does it need to be all different? In UK all names are approved and then put into signs. [b'>I guess I was just expecting here to be the same.[/b'> Whaaaat? You're not a newbie, either! :D If you're comfortable driving, you won't need a taxi. RAK is fine, honestly. If you can't find it on Google Earth or you don't get a map, email me on sanddy.dogg @ gmail . com for directions (as I assume you won't want to post the location on a public forum - unless it's an area like Granada, Mina Al Arab or Al Hamra).

Ras Al Khaimah is at the northern end of Emirates Road (E311). Either ask your friends for directions, have a look on Google Earth or by a Ras Al Khaimah mini-map in Carrefour. Or ask me :)

From Dubai, Hatta is closer but I believe you need a car insured for Oman to do it. IRRC the exit from the UAE and the entry to Oman are about 7km apart (long time since I've been through there) so walking is not an option. If your DH can sponsor you to get residency then take it. It will last for 3 years rather than having to do a visa run every month. You can't have anything in your name without a residence visa so you can't own or insure a car or drive someone else's.

It's two letters and 3 numbers to take note of. You don't have to report that minute either, wait until you get home. If they're breaking the rules then they should be reported. If you're not prepared to report them don't get upset when do they do break the rules. As long as they know they can get away with it, they will. Edited to take out my comment about paying a nominal amount to call to report them - it's a free call. edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 03/07/2011

Make sure you always get the number of the car ie CT 123 for a Cars Taxi. If they refuse to take you report them. Not sure about the change issue - he can't give you what he doesn't have but there's a good chance he was hoping you'd tell him to keep the 50, or by charging you to drive you to an ATM he's increasing his earnings.

This is more than taking a break though, the OP is asking if she can take for a month, miss a month, take for a month, miss a month and so on. Personally, I would take it every month or look for another solution.

They are on Thursdays at 11am at the Tower Links Golf CLub. I would call the club to make sure the groups are still going throughout the summer to save yourself a wasted journey.
