Thank u for your kind input doubting Thomas, FYI we had another childcare arrangement organised for the original date which had to be changed when the concert date changed. Do u mean an agency for babysitting?! I'd never leave my child with an unknown random person from a maid agency, a friend was going to babysit who is now unable to do so as she is ill. I'm sure people are requesting refunds for a large variety of reasons caused by the date change, my reason is as valid as anyone's. Tickets r advertised on Dubizzle & FB, but u are correct there are loads advertised as not a sell out. If anyone knows of anyone looking pls let me know.

I would not recommend making a long journey to get to JAPS. The teaching & learning is still good but the facilities are very 'tired' and there appears to be very little money being put back into the school. Also personal debentures of AED25,000 for new students kick in from next academic year although the fees are still reasonable, around AED 40,000. Many families have moved their children this year to other schools or have them waitlisted elsewhere. The premises are moving - although the location is yet to be confirmed it appears it is not going to be in Jebel Ali village or even nearby.

Can anyone recommend an affordable vet (if there is such a thing!) who specializes in small animals, pref in the New Dubai area. We adopted a guinea *** - he is lovely but is scratching himself a lot, think he may have mites! Also looks as if he needs his claws trimming. edited by Saraabc on 28/02/2014 Can't believe my post was automatically edited to remove the offending second part of the animal's name - mods, get a grip! edited by Saraabc on 28/02/2014

Thank you Greedy cat - the problem with the shoes isn't while I am there - it's when he has football & rugby at school or as an after school activity. LadyBee - my son can't tie his laces yet as he wears Crocs & flip-flops or during the week Clarks school shoes & trainers - with Velcro fastenings as requested by school! Thank you, I am quite familiar with rugby attire having brothers who both played rugby. I know boots with Velcro straps exist, I just want to know where I can purchase them here without spending hours searching. In my opinion boots with Velcro are safer than ones with laces not tied tightly enough or worse, trailing loose. Anyone have any ideas where I can buy them?

Sorry Doubting Thomas but why do you always make a point of being as unpleasant as possible in every thread you reply to??? Obviously we expected Santa to be IN Ski Dubai, but thought we'd just have to pay to enter the grotto (maybe through a different entrance) as we didn't want/expect to be using the snow park facilities. Elmpark, thanks will ask around tomorrow for spare voucher and will go earlier in the day so we can use the snow park and get our money's worth!

Hi Dubby - unfortunately don't think there is a pm facility. If you can post an e-mail contact I can perhaps be of help. You can always delete the address afterwards.

Try 'sing & swing' in Ibn Battuta mall.
