Hope its all ok. Im a physio and the post about the swimming was spot on. If you put a float between you knees and just use your upper body to swim its a really good work out and you might find the pressure from the water helps to make you're ankle feel better. I would be reluctant to stop all exercises when it sounds like you are doing so well. You don't want to loose all that fitness. It can have a massive effect to your self esteem as well and its amazing how feeling good really does have a positive effect on your recovery. Doc will be happy as you doing a non-weight baring exercise. (good for the heart and lungs too!)
