Bought Entertainer Travel and have found it completely useless. Last thing I want is to call and be treated like some mooch! The hotel is friendly and inviting until you mention the Entertainer and then they treat you like a pest - rooms are full, timing isn't right, will have to check. It is NOT worth it. Better deals are offered on the Internet and you don't have to beg for them. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Has anyone ever had issues when using the vouchers in the book? Me and hubby tried using a few in restaurants and because it says "kids entertainer" on the individual voucher we were told it only applied to kids meals (clearly didn't, as that's just the name of the book and the vouchers usually specify if its for kids etc). Does this happen often? I bought the travel entertainer and found it completely useless. Hotel is empty and available until you mention the coupons and then suddenly they are not available at all. Entertainer personnel refer you to their fine print. At least my experience has not been positive. Unless you like going to places when no one else wants to go ...

Thank you. I will give it a try. I was frankly shocked that with all the opthamologists available to them that they simply said to wait for a week to a 5 year old child. I will try Dr. Habash!

My daughter's cornea has been scratched and she keeps blinking in one eye. I called Moorfield and they offered me an appointment in a WEEK!! Any ideas on who else would be a good opthamologist?

Does anyone know what happened to the pool? Why did it turn swamp green?

Welcome to Dubai. I have written this for those looking on the Palm again and again. It is just that I wish people had warned me when I was looking so I would rather repeat myself. Forgive me if you have read this else where. Do not move to OCEANA ON The Palm. It is deceiving because it looks great. Remember it only LOOKS good. The penthouses are not yet completed and are to be made to owner specification. That means that in every single building, all residents will have construction above them. And the building is made in such a manner that the noise vibrates and streams into every single unit and it is not habitable. The plumbing is messed up and so just this week for example, water was cut off for all buildings for 48 hours!! That means you cannot even flush the bathrooms! Imagine if you have children. The other problem is that they do not know how to operate the emergency services system. So at 4 a.m. you hear this loud screetching announcement in your apartment telling you to vacate the building immediately in three languages. It goes on for an hour before they turn it off. Then 1/2 hour later it goes off again and the whole cycle repeats. So not sure about other places on the Palm but avoid Oceana.

My advice, don't do the Palm. Get a villa with a nice pool in a community. Have lived on the Palm for 3 years and rarely used the beach. Too many problems and no management.

I know ... it's a comedy of errors. Do you know why they changed the maintenance crew? My experience with them was quite good. Have a good nap and hopefully we won't be woken up again at 4 in the morning with loud speakers as though we are living in a prison cell!

What ever you do, DO NOT MOVE INTO OCEANA on the Palm. The penthouses are not built and are left to be completed once sold. There is no noise control in the building and when they start construction you literally have to move out. On top of that the plumbing has been done wrong and they can't get it to work. We just had two days with NO WATER - could not flush bathrooms!! And no one knows how to turn off the emergency loud speakers and they go off at 4 a.m. We can't wait for our contract to run out. It is a nightmare at Oceana!!

Thanks for your response. But forget about the pool at Oceana and do not get fooled. There was NO WATER in all buildings at Oceana and the Restaurant for TWO DAYS. On top of that, they do not know how to operate the emergency loud speaker in the building that announces fires in the building. So at 4 a.m. you get a loudspeaker throughout the building AND in each unit announcing a fire in English, Arabic and German, repeatedly. My 4 year old was in tears and hysterical - woken up in the middle of the night with this loud noise. Some how they turn it off after 20 minutes and then it trips up again and then it takes an hour to turn it off. Try living with noise, no water, announcements in your home at 4 a.m. and see if the nice pool makes it all better. Oceana is a nightmare!!!

We moved to the Oceana building in the Palm just a few months ago. Our neighbor directly above us has started remodeling his home and when we approached the building management to discuss the fact that we have jackhammer drilling all day and that we have no home in effect we were told that the building has sold the Penthouse level BARE. We were told that the construction will continue on those buildings as soon as the owners get their act together. Is there any suggestion anyone has on how to control this situation? Is the only option to move out of Oceana until the penthouse levels are completed? How are the people in these huge buildings to live when there is unbearable noise all day? Does anyone know of any protection provided? Please help!! And please be aware before you move into OCEANA!!!!
