i have the same issues. we have selected bugaboo bee+ so far but everyody is advising to go for a cheaper stroller or any other from dubizzle. i was swayed by quinny's price and model but my DH is adamant on bugaboo. he does not want to buy second hand for the first baby :). one of my friend bought last year from dubizzle -gracco for just 500 with all the accessories but what's the point as she is again looking for the stroller after 1 year. you have to see what fits your criteria, as we will be travelling atleast 2-3 times a year so wanted a light stroller which can be put into its bag. and we don't want to buy 2 strollers one for here and one when we are travelling. it makes no sense when you have limited space here to store everything. but then for the first time parents like us it will be trial and error :) i have read so many reviews online and people say no stroller is perfect for all. you have to check your criteria. all the best in hunting. i'll check out your link too. if you are getting it by shipping do let me know please. :) edited by manubhadauria on 07/03/2012[/qu I bought the Bugaboo Bee for my first child 4 years ago. It proved to be a fab investment as it has been on numerous flights over the years and has also been used for my second child. We have never had any problems with it and would recommend people to buy it. We initially used the flight bag when travelling however after the second time we decided the bag was too bulky. We have taken the pram on a further 8 flights and it has never been damaged. Because of the size and weight we have not needed to buy a second stroller for travelling and it takes up very little space in our car. Good Luck with your pregnancies ladies. edited by Shella on 07/03/2012

I had a chat with a property management company this morning who have all types of villas and apartments, all over Dubai. They don't charge 5% either! Al Kawakeb 04 343 4141 We are in one of there villas and love it. Moved in in October and have had no problems. They manage the villas brilliantly and are very proactive about it. So much so we had a note under the door last week saying that the AC was to be serviced and to book an appointment!

thank you ladies! I don't know why I feel ashamed about secretly wanting a c-section..i am keeping track of Peanut's size and if he/she seems to be turning into another 4 kg baby then c-section it is! I am feeling more in control and less in a panic with this c-section as it will be planned out in advance and not a manic emergency like last time...still remember al wasl nurses trying to feverishly remove my wedding ring and making me sign a consent form while being rushed into theater...I was put under completely and missed the birth of my baby. I have heard so much about One Born Every Minute..must look this up tonight! My first (born at The American Hospital) resulted in a emergency c-section due to being too big for my pelvis (born 39 weeks 3.9kg). I was in labour for 36 hours , dilated 2 cm's and baby couldn't crown because her head wouldn't fit (when I was told this I was hysterical expecting an abnormally huge head!!). My Doc was fab and checked on me at regular periods during the day despite being off duty, and came every 3 hours to check on me in the final hours. It was 10pm when he told me he really did not think I could deliver my DD naturally but would let me continue until 3am if I wanted. I was shattered and trusted his judgement so c-section it was. Proved to be the right decision after examinations and scans proved this to be the case. Second precnancy, weight of baby was monitored and as it crept over the 3kg point Doctor informed c-section it would have to be (DD born at 38 weeks 4kg). I felt like I was copping out too and felt a little bit of a failure too, as when you say to people you had a c-section you sometimes get that (too posh to push) look. It was only the wise words of my mother that made me feel better. She said' I have had 3 children all naturally, you have had 2 children by c-section. I didn't get a trophy or anything for being natural. I got healthy children, exactly the same as you got!' So true, although I did point out to her that I had something that she didn't....a lovely little scar which I do look at in a positive way and whenever I catch a glimpse of it I am reminded of the day my beauties were born. Anyway hope that helps. Sorry if I have waffled. Good luck.

I share your pain! My 23 month old has all of a sudden become a nightmare at bedtime and during the night. We started a new routine a few days ago to see if it would help:dinner at 5, TV off, bath at 6, storeytime, bed with milk at 6.30. Unfortunately DD dropped her daytime nap 2 weeks ago (my other DD did this at this age too!), so I have tried (unsuccessfully)to get her to have 30 minutes after nursery. The last 2 nights she has fallen asleep drinking her milk in her cot with me sat in the room with my back to her. Our main problem now is that she wakes at regular intervals where I have to go in and lie her back down, off to sleep she goes again with no problem. This usually happens 4 or 5 times and evening so no downtime for me! We have tried to leave her a few minutes and see if she settles but that results in her vomiting! Really dreaming of the day I get a relaxing evening followed by a great nights sleep. I know it will happen, hopefully before she is 3 which is when my eldest DD settled!!!! Hope your DD settles soon. edited by Shella on 05/01/2012

Thank you all so much for your recommendations! Have opted to buy one from Galler at MOE. Totally forgot how much I love theirs! Unfortunately it was my husbands suggestion so now he thinks he has had a huge input into Christmas!! I am sure he really has no idea how much effort has to be put into organising Christmas! Oh well at least that's another thing ticked off my To-Do list! 3 more to go! I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New Year!!!!

Marcus is lovely but a little kareoke for me. I think Rachel should have stayed and that Nicole is an attention seeker!! Despite having changed my mind at various points, I think Chris Rene is going to get my vote. If he does more performances like his second one then I personally think he should win. Josh and Melanie both have amazing voices, however I just find them boring and predictable to watch. Haven't been able to watch the show for a couple of weeks, so I was very happy to see Astro had gone!!! Talented but annoying!!

CP, Shella and Assisi, thoughts are with you - would be/will be devastated when poochie's time comes ... he is like our baby. Again I have no regrets about bringing him over to Dubai, he's our boy and we love him, he loves being at home with us and really does believe he's DS number two. It would break my heart to leave him back in the UK and I would be the one to pine. He's adjusted so well here (collie/retreiver cross) we have him cut short now, and is loving this time of year just in and out of the garden. My parents miss him so much, he has to 'talk' to them on the webcam each time they call! Again my deepest thoughts are with you on your sad loss. Thanks. Affected us more so because our friends little bratty 5 year old thought it would be fun to let our dog run out onto the main road!!! First day of his holiday and we had 2 weeks of them. Gave him the benifit of the doubt that it was an accident (despite 2 locks on the gate), however he proved himself to be a little terror the whole time winding my DD's up and denying it! According to my husband I was basically pushing them out the door the day they were leaving! Taking comfort in the fact it was instant but still can't get the moment out of my head! Needless to say my friend is not welcome again!!

Here, here Sue and CP. We brought our two dalmatians with us 5 years ago, and it was completely the right thing to do. One of them died quite suddenly 6 weeks ago CP, so know emotionally where you are this morning. CP sorry to hear about your loss. We were (are) devastated when we lost our dog a few weeks ago. Assisi, sorry about your loss your story sounds like mine! Brought our Dalmation over 5 years ago and very sadly she died suddenly middle of September. The house feels really strange. Maybe they are having a playdate in the sky being the mischievous little doggies that they are! x

Ds and I orderd DH a picture from Peas in a Pod, they were at Jess nightmarket and Arte, JPS fair and others. Basically she has lots of designs and sizes but we chose one, a picture frame, square with 9 circles, 3 x 3 with each circle containg a small portion of map in dubai thats significant to DH. Like Montgomerie, his office, our first home here. You chose what you want. Its fab. BNBH, is there a website or contact for Peas in a Pod. This gift sounds fab and very thoughtful!

Astro is the same every week, he hasn't got a long range other than rapping. Love Melanie, I want her to win. I think Rachel is really cute and can see her being a big star. There is something about Chris Rene, I do like him thou. Josh is brilliant too. Stacy has a really lovely voice, I'm happy she has stopped all the crying malarky, was getting a bit bored of it to be honest. I agree. Astro is obviously very talented but I am getting as bored with him as people are with Drew. Yes he is a rapper but he is doing the same thing week in week out because that is the type/genre of music that he does. My question is how can the judges expect Drew (or any of the others) to step out of their box when Astro is very much in his comfort zone. Why should the 'singers' who have a style be expected to sing a different style (country, pop etc!) to show their diversity . Not too sure who I want to win this year as they have all had ups and downs. I do think Paula's group is on very dodgy terratory though!!!lol

Where do you live and does your daughter attend nursery/School? With this info you may get more advice about where to go. Depending on the lisp, most good speech therapists should be able to give you a home programme as this is something you should be able to work on at home. Good on you for getting onto it early. It's one of those habits that parents often think is 'cute' but the longer it goes on the harder it can be to correct. Therapy sessions cost from about 360 an hour up. Some centres will do shorter sessions for younger children. Thanks for your reply. I have been made to feel neurotic at times by my husband when I have mentioned DH eye that wondered when tired and the fact thet her pronunciation of her s sounds like she has too much saliva in her mouth. Had her eyes checked in UK and very slight squint diagnosed, which if left would get worse! That's why I want to get her speach checked now as I am going to trust my gut from now on! We live in Al Bada'a (near Emirates bank on Al wasl). 360 per hour sounds better than I was expecting! Thanks again.

Fellow Mancunian here and we did exactly the same as have all the weddings we have been to. I find it amazing the number of people who think its the norm to have a free bar all night at a British wedding?! I've never been to a wedding with free drinks (alcoholic or soft) all night. Champagne (or mulled wine in my case as it was near Christmas) on arrival, unlimited wine and soft drinks with the meal, and a toast drink yes, but never in the evening! Maybe its a north/south divide thing? I'm Mancunian, so maybe down south its normal?

When deciding to have a second child I underwent tests and again I was not ovulating. 1 month on Clomid and again pregnant. Result two beautiful DD!! Just had a check up due to (what Idetermined to be) strange things happeningduring my cycle. It turns out that this was a sign of ovulation and after further tests I now ovulate unaided! My 3 year old just said to me 'mummy do you know what I call you?' a little concerned at her response I said 'what do you call me?' 'mummy I call you my bestest bestest bestest friend!' Brought a smile to my face! We are on wind down now. Everything is a little calmer. Dinner (if a little burnt!!) and bath complete. Time for a book then hopefully an uneventful bedtime! when we went round to my (very traditional) grandparent's house for Tea, Grandma would wheel out a trolley with a selection of sandwiches, cut into triangles with the crusts chopped off - there's be cucumber, some kind of pate... hmm... maybe that was it. Then she'd have a selection of cakes on a stand - French Fancies, Battenberg, a fruit cake and maybe a lemon one, but the piece-de-resistance was the sherry trifle. You HAVE to have a trifle. ... and tea would be served in a pot, of course. ... with pastry forks and tea spoons, although those who wanted coffee would have coffee spoons, because they are actually slightly different. oh, and cucumber sandwiches are really nice... if you want to pander to more modern tastes, instead of buttering them, spead a bit of soft cheese on the bread... but the main thing is the cucumber, not the cheese. Oh, and Grandma used to decorate the sandwich platter with cucumber twists... bless her. Loved her Teas! edited by Hello.Again.Kitty on 26/04/2011 I am all about the trifle...yummy!!!

If the car seat should be fastened with a shoulder belt then it is not secure to use on aplane. Reason being if their is turbulence etc then the car seat would be at danger of falling forward with your child strapped in it as nothing to hold the back of the seat in place. Being wedged in is not a chance you would take in a car. Think it has to be a 5 point harness for take off and landing or if under 2 then must be on lap. Am former hostie and have seen too many accidents. This is what was explained to us when speaking to Emirates. They said that although some manufacturers state that the seat is fine to use on the plane that does not mean that every airline will approve them. Thankfully ours was as it is designed as a flight seat first and car seat second. Features like you mentioned, 5 point harness and the fact it is narrower than your average car seat. Also, because it is a lap fastening seat it does not move at all when fastened on a plane. Best to check with specific airlines first.

We got a seat from Babyshop that we have used many times on Emirates. A couple of times ground crew have stopped saying we cannot take it onboard. However we argued the point and spoke to a manager who agreed it was allowed. To prevent this situation occurring again we took the printed info off the Emirates site. The problem was more to do with staff not knowing any seat was allowed on a plane rather than which. Anyway the seat cost about 300AED and looks like a very basic car seat. Does not recline, fastens with a lap belt and if to be used in a car has a long strap that fastens in the boot. The seat harness has the usual fastener but also further up the shoulder strap a second clip. I am pretty sure it was called a flight seat when we got it from MOE. Ours is pink and we have used it for DD from being 8 months old, she is 3 now. I have to say it was the best purchase ever!! I wish I could let you use it, however there is a real possibility we may be travelling within the next month and cannot chance it. Especially since we have another DD who is 1 and we will benifit massively from her sitting in it! Good luck with the search. If you want me to mail a picture to you then leave your email on here.
