For me, my doctor told me to bring it for the next hospital visit. They prepare everything for me. Ask your doc.

didn't have maternity cover either and didn't take package with hospital, just paid from my pocket for doc visits, blood tests and normal delivery. Doc was in private clinic, but she did deliveries in Iranian hospital :) thanks god had a normal delivery and they discharged me same day (it's my 2nd child). All in all came to about 25000dhs. wow!! that's expensive. I took a the hospital package at IMH..total bill was 12k. ETA: considering IMH is a private hospital and i had a suite(which included a waiting room) to myself for 2 days. edited by shjbelle on 19/02/2012 I think you mean either delivery or pre-natal care package. I meant the total cost of prenatal visits, tests, delivery & stay at the hospital, doc fee for delivery as outside doc maybe. but definitely less than what you're paying. definitely not near 20k. OP, best you go round hospitals and ask for the hospital packages. It's easier to see what they can provide that way. S

I have a feeling that this is your first child right? Let him tell. It's not like your in laws are staying with you and doing it themselves. So, listen , nod your head in agreement and do it your way. easy peasy.

Dear ladies Can you please suggest your preference? I have been to both about 2 years back due to complications (have suffered from 2 misccraiges) However, at this point in time, I am unsure who I should go with as I read that Dr. Elsa is extremely busy whereas Dr. Farhat is not with IMH but at a clinic in Al Wasl. I truly like both of them, brilliant in their fields and hence am extremely confused as to whom I should continue with. Thank you for your thoughts / recommendations. edited by NikitaD on 12/02/2012 I was with Dr Andrea. I didn't realise that she's at a clinic in Al Wasl as she was at IMH when I saw her. When did she move away? I love her. She is direct and does not suggest any unnecessary procedures. If she's at a clinic, where will she be if you have to deliver? that's the most important, don't you think?

That's a bit late for a 9 month old to go to bed. Try putting him to bed at 7pm sharp. It should be easier now that sunset's pretty early nowadays. How many naps does he have in the day? should be 2 at his age. the more he sleeps in the day, the more he will sleep at night. Also, start training him to sleep with noise. do that with the nap times. I asked Cecile before, when do the night feeds end. She said only after they hit their 1 yr. you keep up most nights as well? hhmm.. maybe it is genetic..lol S

I put him down one more time before he slept. I'm dreading tonight. Last night I had to stay up until 4 in the morning because little baby would get up every single time. His crib's in I and DH's bedroom so have to get him out of there so DH can sleep (I'm a SAHM). I can't put his crib in another room since if I get up between sleeping to tend to him I will chase away whatever sleepiness I have (I'm a chronic insomniac). It's a bit of a catch-22 but I put in toys as suggested and he was a bit taken aback and played a little before getting bored and getting up again. Hopefully he'll grow out of it. :( DD's crib is also in our bedroom. what time do you put him to bed? do you still give him the dream feed? toys yeah, toys but not the ones he play with..more of to snuggle with..

yeah..tough love it is. sit somewhere he can see you. and just talk to him in your most calm voice. say, you need to sleep honey. and mummy is here. put something which he is comfy with in there as well. what i did was carry DD til she quieten down and put her back in her cot. it took about 3 days. now, she knows. :)

I got some called Mega Blocks at Toys R Us in Festival City. They are the chunkier plastic ones, bigger than the little lego. They also have duplo at Toys R Us but its more expensive than the Mega Blocks. ah..brilliant! thank you :)

sudocreme is horrible. i never use it. for me, basic johnson n johnson nappy cream works best. once applied, i let it dry first before putting the nappy on her. but try changing nappy brands, maybe she's allergic to the current one you are using. S With apologies shjbelle...I'm not a fan of Johnson's products. They are full of synthetic fragrances and petrochemicals so not good for tender skin, particularly when it's already inflamed. no need to apologise. i'm just saying what i prefer. if you don't, then it's your choice :) S

is DS swaddled? if you EBF, can't you sleep at 10 or even earlier with DS1 and get DH to help you with the first feeding? that way you can have 'more' sleep. that's what i did. but if you feel as a mom that you wanna give formula at night..why not? save your sanity. formula's now are good too. S

Hi Sorry for the late reply.. oh..i started pumping as soon as i can, so that i can sleep earlier and DH can feed later on, to which i wake up 3 hrs after DH's fed DD. that way I can have 6 hrs staight at night :) Yeah, get that miracle swaddling blanket, if mothercare don't have it, try babyshop or even car4... i remember some car4 selling them. with regards to the sling, here's the local site where this lady is selling slings of various kinds http://web.me.com/michelle.lee/BabyWearDubai/Home.html also, if [b'>BFC[/b'> is doing a breast feeding workshop soon in november.. she's a member here as well.. if she's not replying to this thread, maybe you can leave your email here and i"ll get her to contact you directly? Hope all goes well with this tips.. it will pass.. also remember to get nipple cream. I like the cocoa butter ones best as it really soothes mine and there's no need to wash them b4 feedling LO. Good luck S

I remember those days..hahah.. no worries, it will pass. I agree with the ladies here, swaddling is very good, it makes the baby feel as tho he's still in the womb. If not, get the sling. you can move anywhere you want with him in there. have you tried pumping? the more you pump, the more it will produce milk. then you can always get your DH to help feed the baby. :D Also agree with putting a piece of used jimmies in his cot. good luck S

Two men in Ibn Batuta taking photos of children sounds a little bit weird to me, but maybe they were just taking photos of the mall and it happens that your children was there. Having said that I think it is estrange. I travelled around Africa for half a year and whenever me and my partner arrived to a new village we were welcomed by a big group of children. We always took photos of the children and showed them afterwards the photos in the screen and they loved it. Even when adults (parents) were there they loved to pose for us and see themselves pictured in the camera screen. We have, literally, tonnes of photos with children from this trip. I posted some of the photos in my Facebook as this was an essential part of our experience in Africa, the welcoming to a new village surrounded by children. One of the photos is now framed in my living room; me and very cute girl from Mali who was with us for a few hours when visiting one of the villages. Photos were always under people's consent, but sometimes parents were not there. I don't think I did anything wrong, I was just playing with the children. Nimonemo, i think OP has a right to be freaked out. esp with the latest nearly child abduction case that happened in DSO.

I know how intimidating they can be.. but you have the right of way. Are you driving a 4x4? Stand your grown and do that arabic wait hand sign.. I learnt that recently only after 3 yrs of driving here.. s i don't know which sign you mean but tbh i wouldn't recommend ANY interaction in these situations.... why can you not either ignore it or move over ? (generally you can see them coming from a mile off so you can move over before it even becomes an issue) edited by Sue62 on 01/10/2011 the ones whr it means wait in arabic but a swear thing in italian..

Hi M1dono, I remember when DD was around that age, she suddenly become difficult. It will pass. Agreed with some of the comments, she cud be hungry. But maybe you cud still give her the dummy. Soon she will be able to find it on her own at night. Anyway, I was advised to swaddle her back again (then) and it worked. Since you said that the dreamfeed messes her 7am feed, maybe you can be flexible and give her b/fast later? Good luck. S
