The price indicator for the cut diamonds is Rappaport (RAP) list. For diamonds between 1.5-1.99 cts, VS2, F, the price is around 12.000 USD/ct, while for diamonds between 1.00-1.49 cts. is around 800ot your diamond (make sure is 1.5 cts) would be around 66000 AED, but the price is usually 15-20% under the RAP price, which is around 52000 AED. Nobody sells diamonds nowadays at premium. IGI certificate is good, but GIA one is more common here and might downgrade your diamond in clarity and colour. Also, if you have an IGI certificate and wish a GIA one, will cost you extra 400 USD and will take like a week or more to get it. I'm quite involved in dimond trading and NO, I do nOT advertise myself but I can advise on this matter.

I think expats in Bah are quite protected from some of the reality of what may be happening in local areas, Al Jazeera has some footage that is not overly plesant on it's live blog page. Lots of twitter going on about the hospitals, there is certainly [b'>a movement to destabalise the country by a sector of the population and modern media is allowing them to fuel that.[/b'> edited by Sticky Wicket on 16/03/2011 Are you talking about the majority of 70% shiia population that try to gain their rights, about the young generation of Bahrainis whow want freedom and democracy?? To destabilize what, an oppressive regime that has the intention the ethnically cleanse the country and to change the balance shiia/sunni by "importing " sunni from the neighbouring countries? What what was right for Tunisians, Egyptians and Lybians is not right for the Bahrainis??? What makes it right for Bahrainis to be attacked in THEIR OWN COUNTRY by foreign troops??? And the double standard with which the Americans are treating the situation, just because is a political interest there that the Bahraini royals are accommodating...disgusting Did you see the images of young women with flowers in their hands and signs saying :We will die for Bahrain" This is a generation that will not give up and that wants fair rights for everybody. Why is the royal family from Bahrain so afraid of a constitutional monarchy? And why are the "good" neighbours so eager to help the Bahraini royals?? Just food for thought...

"The laws in UAE do not entitle the employer to keep the employee’s passport for whatever reason and the passport shall not be submitted to anyone unless upon order of Public Prosecution or court only." - Advocate Mohammad Ebrahim Al Shaiba of Al Bahar Advocates and Legal Consultants in response to a question to "Ask The Law" (Gulf News 09 May 2010) "It’s illegal, ... The government will not tolerate companies that withhold passports," - Yousuf Abdulghani (Abdul Ghani?), Executive Director of Policies and Strategy at the UAE Ministry of Labour (Arabian Business 30 April 2009). "Retaining workers' passports amounts to forcible work in violation of the International Labour Organisation's (ILO) Convention on the Abolition of Forced Labour, to which the UAE is a signatory." - Aref Mirza, Director of the UAE Ministry of Labour Legal Department (Gulf News 13 June 2006). Bit old but....

Let's remember where the "don't rinse the chicken" info actually came from. The USDA. They are adjusting the recommendations to the lowest common denominator. If Joe Blow in the middle of nowhere rips the plastic off a chicken, turns the water on full blast and throws the chicken around the sink and counter without care, you're going to get some cross contamination. As for me, I'm rinsing my chicken thoroughly without hesitation and with care. Oh, and I actually CLEAN the counters during and after cooking. That goes for beef, pork, lamb and fish - everything - as well. For bone-in meat there is almost always bone "dust" on the meat that has been left there by the saws. I'd rather not get bone chips in my food, thank you ;-) I'm very big on NO cross-contamination. Meaning, prepping veggies first, meats last on cutting boards. I also own many multiples of my favorite tools. Knives, thongs, cutting boards, steel prep bowls, etc. So basically I have everything sorta "mise en place" before I start cooking. After handling all the raw meats I spray and wipe down all contaminated surfaces....sink, faucets, counters, cabinets, fridge handle, etc. I figure all the kitchen surfaces need a wipe down every few days anyhow. Keeps my kitchen sparkling.

Walk? It's only a few hundred meters, it's all the same building. Would not advise walking!! Terminal 1 and 3 are far from each other...take the metro. there is also the shuttle, 10 min by it. edited by simoralu44 on 31/01/2011

You can also use shades of brown, from dark brown to gold! If you have green eyes, a great colour to use is lilac/purple...enhances the green and looks sooooo sexy. :)

Am a dog lover as well as dog owner here! Big dog actually. Although he's a very gentle dog,I would never ever take him out without leash! He's big and playful, but he will not seem that way to a 2 yo child who might be terrified by him!! In the case of the aggressive dog, think the owner need training. Try to talk to the owner first, because if you report to the police or DM, the one that might suffer in the end will be the dog!! In case the owner doesn't react, then report him, not the dog, please! ;)

Why do so many women have to suffer of "super-woman" syndrome??? Doing it all by yourself (having a job, raising children, cooking, cleaning, being a good wife) makes you a better mother?? While having a maid/nanny that will allow you some quality time with your kids and husband and doing things on ypur own, makes you a bad mother. Don't think so!!! Our kids are grown up, they don't live with us, we run our own business and, shocker, we have a maid. And plan to have a driver as well soon. So me and my husband can spend our free time reading a book, watching a movie, attending events, being with our friends, etc. Why is it all so bad for some people??? Why do the have to judge the ones who have maids/nannies/house help?? Unless they replace the parents in raising the kids (and that happens sometimes sadly), if one can afford it, say go for it. I bet that a maids salary won't affect the savings parents make in order to send their kids to uni!!!

Don't cry - smile!!! At the very least, you have a new friend. At the very most, it could develop into something more that you deserve. Hubby is 12 years younger than me!!! Married 21 years. At least when I start to dribble and can only eat oatmeal, he'll be there to take care of me, and not the other way around. LOL LOL Better be a nanny than a nurse, like Ivana Trump said!! LOL And besides, age is a number..so go for it, you gain a friend or more...good for you!!

And here jail sentences seem so arbitrary: for a bank fraud of 85 mil AED a guy got 3 yrs in jail, for a 200,000 aed a woman gor 4 months, for a rape a local got 6 months in jail, for a bounced cheque of 540,000 aed same sentence. And the guys that molested the couple in IKEA are still not behind bars....

Her story is sad but oh so true! A mishap in business, a bounced cheque and she ended up in prison. Then for not renewing the trade licence, JAFZA declared her absconding, although she WAS NOT, she was in prison!!! Kids now, although they have a home back in Austria, were taken by the child services there!! Is not the only story like this, that is why prominent lawyers here, like Habib Al Mulla are pleading for changing the law of bounced cheques. If you bounce a cheque with criminal intent is totally different thing, but here the practice of PDC has landed a lot of people in jail, especially in these times of economic crisis. And not all of them were living above their means, as some of people might think!!

Greek Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas on December 24-25. Russian, Armenian and Coptic Orthodox Christians celebrate on January 6-7,according to old Julian calendar. Gregorian calendar, which is the civil calendar accepten in the whole world, is a hybrid between the old Julian calendar and Gregorian one.
