Hi ladies, can any of you tell me how often you have Brain & Cervical Spine Scans done. Is it every 3 or 6 months. My Neuro now wants me to have scans done in August when it will be near my 6 months since diagnosed, however, I am questioning this as I thought yearly would be more appropriate as I didn't think that things would change so quickly, but maybe I am wrong. Thank you. Kins I have MS and am under the impression that it will depend on the severity and progression of your condition which is different for everyone and can change over time. There have been years where I have had no MRIs, 1 MRI and 2 MRIs, etc. The scans have either been at the time of an episode, immediately following an episode or some time after the episode to gauge impact. I have been told that not all episode's lead to lesions and not all lesions can be said to be linked to an episode. I don't know if there is any clear rule about the number and timing of scans and it probably changes from Dr. to Dr. What the Dr. may be trying to identify is the pattern of your condition? I hope this helps a little!

When I was researching for similar reasons, I found that the Government of Dubai’s Health Insurance Law No. 11 (January 1st 2014) stipulates a range of minimum benefit standards, one of which details that cover cannot be denied due to pre-existing conditions, and that treatment be included for chronic and pre-existing conditions after a first membership period of 6-months. Therefore, insurers are required to offer you cover - but, at what price is the issue. Try Bupa/Oman, they offer the best insurance coverage in my opinion and although it may be more expensive than the others on the market, it will be a lot less hassle in the long run with claiming and if your condition evolves.

Hello, when I first arrived in Dubai I was being treated for MS by a Neurologist at the American Hospital which has high quality Dr.'s and fantastic facilities. However, not long after the Neurologist left Dubai to return to the US - which I believe is quite common here with many Dr.'s only staying for short periods. Before leaving the Dr. referred me to Dr. Deeb Kayed and I have been his patient now for over a year and a half - based out of the MediClinic City Hospital. I would recommend him if anyone is looking for an experienced Neurologist in Dubai.
