Summer here is definitely hot and humid... and it is true... a lot of people leave for the entire holidays... especially with Ramadan being in the middle of it! But... there are an increasing number of families who are staying some of the summer because the cost of leaving is high and after the crisis.... it is not as easy to be able to afford so much vacation time. There are more and more summer camps for kids popping up all over the city. Time out Dubai had a list of over 40 [url=http://www.timeoutdubai.com/kids/features/16070-summer-camps-for-kids-in-dubai/page/2'>http://www.timeoutdubai.com/kids/features/16070-summer-camps-for-kids-in-dubai/page/2[/url'> (and that is not all of them) where kids can go and have some fun for a week or so... sports, aerobics, drama, arts, crafts, etc. Star Academy in Umm Suqueim has lot of them and is convenient. They have soccer and music, and a new one for science [url=www.kidzscience.net'> www.kidzscience.net[/url'>. So... at least you know there are options for the kids if you are staying and a place to meet other kids that stay in Dubai for the summer.

Parental involvement is very important to kids learning and success. There are many ways to be involved in your child's education and school. If you have the time and interest, then be involved. Sometimes principals and teachers are busy working on their own tasks and don't have the experience of benefiting from parental involvement. If there is an organization in your school, then do get involved. If there is not, see if the librarian needs a hand. Offer to read to kids once or twice a month. See the principal and talk through how you can be more involved and how they are organized to facilitate the role of the parent as supporter for better learning.
