What is the best way to find a live out nanny/maid? We are in the same situation where I will start working and we need to possibly find someone quickly.

Yes, I have determined that these noise machines or the concept of white noise is not big out here. But for anyone that has a baby or child that struggles sleeping, this is really a life saver. The machines I had were the Marpac ones mentioned below. I think I found the UK version of the machines so the wattage wont be a problem (that is how I fried my other machines.) I really don't want to have to pay the HUGE extra shipping fees to get the machines to Dubai. I will try the apps you all recommended, but please let me know if you happen to see anything like this in the stores in town. Thank you for all your responses!

Quinn10 - Thanks for the link!! Sounds a bit scary! Brazilianindubai - great feedback! Thanks! Any idea how much a gas stove runs? Also, I am not sure I understand what you mean by "There is a good advantage that we don't pay for the cooler". What is the cooler? The air conditioning?

I have heard the square footage is completely off as well. The issue with the square footage, and the lack of safety things, like screens in windows, baffles me. Here is the latest update - my husband really like Al Furjan for the quality and price of the villas. And the fact that we have to buy our own appliances (did not realize that one), we may go down in price a bit. So, any thoughts on Al Furjan? I heard there is only one way in and one way out. TIA!

Hey ladies - thank you for getting back to me. We really like the look of the places in Falcon City and I am wondering if I can live without all the amenities real close. The only one that would be a big bummer not to have is the pool. Some realtor was pushing JVC to my husband but I am not interested in 3 floors and not being on the same floor as my 4 year old and 2 year old. I am always on Dubizzle and Property Finder. There are a lot available in Arabian Ranches. Why is that? We are not considering an apartment. We are not comfortable being in a high rise with our active boys. Thanks for the advice about renting in September. We will get there by August 20th or so and we can do the hotel thing for a bit. Quinn10 - I would love to discuss more about our California toddlers :) you can reach me at knmarti at yahoo Thank you for all the replies and input!!

Hi Ladies My husband is in town getting his residency visa and looking for villas for us to live in. We are coming from the US. I have done so much research online about areas to live that now I am just stuck. My husband's business will have him at the DXB airport and Al Maktoum airport. My toddlers will be going to Inspire Nursery, and hopefully one of the American schools the following year. We are from California so driving and traffic does not bother us. With all that said, we have been looking at Falcon City, Al Barsha South, and Arabian Ranches. I think the max we want to spend on a minimum 3 bdrm place is AED 165k. Any idea/opinions? My husband will be meeting with a realtor over the next 3 days. Thanks in advance for your helps!!!
