Aha, thank you. I wonder what they put in it in the shops to give it that consistency.

Hi Trish You can call an agency babysitter out for the full day x 5 days. You can request the same girl for the whole time and maybe get her out for a trial couple of hours when you are around so you can assess her levels of safety awareness etc. Lots of agencies offer babysitting services - just ring round a few, (Busybees/Howdra/Maids.ae etc) Good luck!

I know it is not a limo service, but Careem have just launched their First Class service (Mercs etc), so maybe if you can't get anything else you could book 4 nice Mercedes. www.careem.com Hope you get something sorted.

It's not in Irish Village or Century Village but in another building nearby - but according to Zomato it is closed on a Friday which seems very odd! Just would like to call them to confirm.

Interesting Q. Although the temp on the sports field unshaded will be very different from the official temperature which is taken at the weather station in the shade near the airport. I am waiting for the day when it's too hot to go to school OR work and we must all stay at home under the duvet and watch movies. :)

Yes even accidents with another car, they will ask if it's minor and if it is they will ask you to come in. You will have to call 999 to ask, even though it feels bad as it's not an emergency!

How stressful. Hope you get it sorted SD and everyone else. :( 12 weeks is a ridiculous amount of time. Yes it's summer etc but it is summer every year! It seems from the outside that it has gone from an extremely efficient service in Germany to an extremely INefficient service now. There should at least be tracking numbers provided by email/text so you can see each step of the way what is happening and where it stalls if there is a problem. You must all be tearing your hair out!!

I think they take off at 6.50 ish usually. Then I am not sure how long they stay up but sometimes I make us late for school as we sit and watch for a bit. :) There is also sometimes a 10am show as I've seen it on the odd day I've been home! Their route usually goes from (approx) Outlet Mall to Motor City direction then back but over the desert then again and again. Not that I am stalking them. ;) PS Top Gun is the best movie of all time. Ever. :D

Buying the Dubai local fish is a good idea as mercury levels here are not bad. Hammour, king fish, sea bass are great fish. FJ, Hammour is on the endangered list in the UAE as it has been over-fished so much. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/hammour-off-menu-at-some-uae-restaurants-489700.html

Hi Bella, Congratulations on the birth of your little girl, that's great news :) We tried cranial osteopathy but not until after a year or two of very troubled sleeps, we also had a very traumatic birth and I'd say C.O. made a difference from the very first session, very calming. My LO fell asleep during the session and that night we went from waking up every hour to a full night's sleep! I am not sure how it works but it definitely does! All the best.

She has a visa atm but we will get hers once it needs renewing. Nooooooo!!!!! Warning bells!! This maid is already here illegally, by whatever means she has done this. She is now working in your home and you are illegally allowing this, and with access to your LO's and belongings. She must be rubbing her hands with glee and will almost definitely be working elsewhere in the morning. Please, take everyone's advice on this one. Try Sky Maids for after 6pm. Or maybe time to change routine and have LO in nursery in the morning, that would make things a lot easier all round.

This maid is being paid 3,000 every month (1k every ten days) for 8 hours a day's work so that is effectively 15 AED per hour. By the time you factor in visa, medical etc costs.......it will be much more. If you haven't sponsored her yet, I'd get an agency in who will work out to the be the same hourly cost yet you can pick and choose when you have her and no worries about holidays. I don't know but I forsee trouble ahead with the situation you are in now.

It really didn't take long Daza it was only planted a year ago - it has a shade over it and make sure it is watered and that was it - papayas are also very easy & low maintenance - lots of fruit from those too.

Hi CB Good for you for thinking about it :) It really depends where you are planning to wear it. If it's to a hotel then generally it's fine. Dubai is much more relaxed and when you visit a mall you'll see all sorts of interesting sights ;) but to be respectful out and about in public then on the knee is just about fine but below is better. If you are going to the older parts of the city, Deira, Bur Dubai, creeks/souks etc then the more covered up you are the better - you'll just feel uncomfortable and out of place if not.

I had thought that prices would rise before the Expo decision (on the basis that we might get it), rise after the decision sharply for about 6 months (because we did get it) and then level out and grow at a more steady rate in line with normal supply and demand. I think that is what is happening here - also it's getting in to Summer/Ramadan now when business and general levels of any sort of activity slow down a little. I would expect to see prices stagnating from now until August when they might start to pick up again but not at the rate we've seen over the last year. that's my humble opinion :-P

The saga continues. Have now been to: Mango, Next, Zara, all outlets in Debenhams, Promod, M&S and more places I can't think of. Nowhere has these! Not talking bootleg. Really wide leg that are crisply tailored - not quite palazzo but wide legged like that except for suits. I've also looked at your suggestions but nothing stands out except the River island ones which will probably not fit and have to be sent back. The problem is I keep buying other things in each shop. :-P
