We had one perfect little girl, then moved countries twice so put things on hold for a couple of years. Then I got pregnant again but had a miscarriage and then couldn't get pregnant... She's now 5.5 and after much heartache when each month came round and I wasn't pregnant we sat down and talked and decided that actually, why were we trying? Our little "triangle" is perfect, our DD is happy, healthy and very independant and although she would love a baby, I think now, at her age, she would like it off and on but not when it interfered if you know what I mean and it would be a few years before they could play together properly and who knows if they will even get on!! Our story is similar to yours CM in that we never wanted ours to be a triangle - but sometimes life doesn't go according to plan! I particularly get frosty when someone says "do you [i'>just[/i'> have the one?" or "do you [i'>only[/i'> have one?" - I know there's not really any other way to ask but it kind of makes you feel like you've failed somehow! Or the constant relative questions - no news yet? when will you have another? Our little triangle works well, it's the way life panned out for us and the only thing that worries me is the future - when DH and I are not around any more. :(

Yes but if employer wanted to make life difficult he could say he had absconded etc. Very doubtful he has done that though. Probably stories ;)

The employer can cancel his visa, they could have forged his signature, reported him as absconding, etc. But it is likely not to have happened and the person should go back to MOL and ask for advice.

We need more detail. Are you talking about an individual sponsor and their maid etc, or a company? What are the circumstances? Has the person not turned up for work, etc.

I'm not sure. It seems unthinkable that someone who has overcome so many challenges and been such a hero would do something like that, but there seems to be a lot of evidence against him.

If you post where you are coming from it would be good to give you directions. It's very close to Burjuman. If Burjuman is on your left, take a right at the lights, you'll see it on your left at the next lights, take a left there, then left again, left again, and left again in to the car park. :)

no, she has 'bought' her visa and although she may have current, valid and correct paperwork under a sponsor, it is not you so therefore illegal for her to work in your home. She will try and convince you otherwise! ;)

It is legal. Agree with basil on every point, except labour card fees are closer to 2000, but may be depending on case. Anyways, that's paid by the company. My labour card costs less than AED 300. OP, networking is your best option, tell everyone and anyone that you are looking for a part time job. Remember that most jobs are for all year round, so if you are planning on escaping for 2 months over the summer your best option would be an educational institution. EW often has part time jobs on the jobs section. Good luck!

Then considering the weather here, the child will sit indoors most of the months anyway. I wouldn't agree with that Alemania, lots of the children around us are out all year round - the ones that are here over the summer spend all their time in pools and playing outside in late afternoon.

Hi, It may not be that simple. You should give a passport/visa copy to a friend and ask them to check with Immigration that you will have no problems on entering the UAE.

I know this will involve a trip there but just wondering if it is even possible - if someone originally bought the sim years ago with a pp copy (who has now left the country) and you want to make it yours by providing pp details etc, is this ok?

thanks - can you also please ask regarding notice to vacate (contract says 30 days - does that stick) and if it should be 90 days notice re rent increase; if the same % increases apply as residential; and if they have to give 1 year notice if selling etc. basically are the terms the same as residential. thanks!! :)

thats what i mean. it shows a rate for the whole area - offices in our building rent for 60% more. Also, what are the laws on increasing commercial rent? Are they the same as residential?

Ooh interested to hear about the leaving an hour early have a colleague who mentioned this but we can find anything written down to support it It's part of the UAE Labour Law, though it doesn't say leaving an hour early, it just says you work an hour less (practically though most employers would let the employee leave an hour early). http://gulfnews.com/uaessentials/ask-the-law/new-mother-s-rights-at-work-1.33071
