DH used to have to take his physically every time. I particularly remember this headache. :-P Though this was a few years ago so maybe things are much simpler now. :)

mabrook! it's probably best to mention the areas you are looking at buying in, since most good agents specialise in one area.

I know someone selling a nice wooden study desk as he doesn't have room. I guess the chair will also be with it, if you post your email ad I will ask him to contact you.

hi Nicky, your employer has to sign & stamp with the company stamp, if you are getting your own one. If you are on DH's, then DH has to sign to allow you on his, and his company has to sign/stamp on his. Hope that makes sense! PS but you do have to enclose a TC copy too. edited by Tattie Bogle on 14/10/2013

Ace Hardware has them. There is also a shop on SZR which has all the different types (electric fire etc) and all different sizes.

Thunderbird, you'll go through a few months of this until your immune systems start to deal with being exposed to people from all over the world and passing through from countries you've never been to before. Just think, after you've lived here, your immune systems will be super strong :) If the respiratory problems continue though, you should just check that there are no allergies to palm tree dust etc. It's also common for all of us to have colds/coughs a couple of times a year, you are going from cold a/c to being outside in sweltering heat to going inside cold a/c again. You'll notice that people from this part of the world don't drink ice cold water, while it's normal for those from the West to drink cold water. Food for thought and up to you what you believe, but many from the East think that drinking ice cold water while in boiling heat causes colds/respiratory problems. Hope you all feel better soon.

Sorry, just read your OP properly. Your passport is required to cancel your visa, so it has not been done yet. If you are in any doubt pop in to Immigration and ask them to check for you.

Did you give your passport in and get it back? Visa does not have 'cancelled' written across it? You signed paper to say you'd received EOS benefit etc?

I took relatives to Gold Souk yesterday, prices sky high even after haggling! To get an idea, get the gold rate from the paper on the day, and x by the number of grams on the item. Then add whatever you think the actual work to the item should cost. You'll have a rough idea of if the price is being doubled/tripled!

Try DHL -they often ship things other courier companies can't, - dry ice etc. They are also used by most other courier companies to ship passports.

Kellyj, I really feel for your situation, but think that the reason your Dr is unwilling to sign this certificate is because technically it's not true (there's no medical reason why you can't return to work) and his professional license could be on the line. I don't think another Dr would help either. Would it not be better to try and negotiate something with your employer? A month or two of unpaid leave, some part time hours, working from home etc? it's tough being a new mum here, good luck x

Cornish Pixie's case is different as it's a hire car and visitors can drive hire cars. Personally I would not risk doing something here which is a 'grey area' even by admission of the insurance company.

I can definitely recommend ARancher to reorganise your life! She's fabulous! My spice drawer is the envy of the street ;) - matching jars, racks in the cupboards, everything neatly stacked away in order, in the correct cupboard, neatly and nicely. Hurrah! I LOVE IT!!! lol. If you need some order in your life and don't have time to do it - AR is the one!!
